  • After thinking for a little bit...

    1. Jurassic World (The first is my favorite movie so the nostalgia killed me with happiness lol)
    2. The Hateful Eight (Another great Tarantino movie, one of my favs)
    3. Kingsman: The Secret Service (Great spy movie, kind of like a mix between Men in Black and James Bond)
    4. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (5th movie in the Mission Impossible series and my favorite of them yet)
    5. The Man From U.N.C.L.E (I might be too nice to this but I actually really liked it, another good spy movie from the year)
    6. The Martian
    7. The Gift
    8. Spy (ANOTHER good spy movie that exceeded my expectations, never underestimate Jason Statham)
    9. No Escape (Pierce Brosnan steals the show, it could have been better and was predictable but I still enjoyed it)
    10. It Follows

When's the 2016 movie thread going up? I already make a list of all the movies I'm looking forward to so I'm ready to talk the anticipation anytime lol

Another year, another movie to see Why don't you guys tell me a list of your favorite movies of the year right here?

  • Nice list! It's going up tomorrow of course! New year and all. :)

  • I've only watched 2 movies released in this year being Jurassic World and Star Wars The Force Awakens.

  • Which one did you like more?

  • I think Star Wars

Which one did you like more?

  • Jurassic World revisited

I've been thinking about Jurassic World for a little bit, and I've started to realize how much of a pretty bad movie it is. I'm really sorry to Saltlick because I know you loved this film. But I can't help but express my distaste for it now.

    • Literally everyone in the movie is so god damn cartoony and unbelievable. Jurassic Park had cool scientists and god damn Jeff Goldblum with personality and character. These guys here are absolutely unreal. At least Chris Pratt is still cool.

    • Still can't get over the shitty ass side story with the two kids parents. So god damn forced that it makes me sick and cringe.

    • Stupid ass villain. I'm glad he got mauled.

    • The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are more memorable due to them being practical. Of course there's CGI and shit but they did really well on making it feel real. Everything here I just forgot, and now that I look back at it a lot of it looks fake as shit.

Overall, I gotta give Jurassic World a new grade of:

    Grade: C

  • My top 10 favorite movies:

10: Pitch Perfect 2. It was this or Spectre, and I chose this. Good movie, though, so I recommend it.

9: Tomorrowland. Even though I do think it is great, this is probably my least favorite Brad Bird movie, and I'm waiting for him to make his comeback in The Incredibles 2, coming 2019.

8: Creed. Though I think I gave it an A- in my review, after giving it some thought, It's better then Tomorrowland for 2 things: It's funner to watch, and it's higher in quality. Though it is not the best Rocky movie, it is a good one.

7: Ant-Man. I really like this movie. I thought it would be lame, but it was a very fun watch.

6: Avengers: Age of Ultron. Yeah... I liked this better then Ant-Man. Don't hurt me.

5: Shaun the Sheep: The movie. I think they did everything they could with this concept perfectly, and with no dialogue! That's pretty damn hard.

4: Jurassic World. I had a LOT of fun watching this movie, like, a LOT. Not as good as Jurassic Park, but still the second best.

3: Inside Out, Where do I begin. I laughed, I cried, I cried, I laughed. It's an emotional movie, no pun intended.

2: Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is easily one of the best Star Wars movies, and the second best this year. This is also one of my favorite movies of all time. It's better than all star wars movies, except for a New Hope and The Empire Strikes back. Great stuff.

1: THE MARTIAN. Watch it watch it watch it. I legitimately haven't seen work this fantastic from Ridley Scott since Alien! I recommend all these movies. Happy Watching!

  • Honestly, I agree with most of this, my biggest problem with the movie was the overuse of CGI.

It's okay, that's EXACTLY how I feel about Star Wars lol

Literally everyone in the movie is so god damn cartoony and unbelievable. Jurassic Park had cool scientists and god damn Jeff Goldblum with personality and character. These guys here are absolutely unreal. At least Chris Pratt is still cool.

Well, a lot of the characters in Star Wars were copies to me but I'm glad the actors didn't do terribly :P

Still can't get over the shitty ass side story with the two kids parents. So god damn forced that it makes me sick and cringe.

True, that kid from Iron Man 3 is a pussy all around. Also, that's how I felt with Death Star 3.0 renamed.

Stupid ass villain. I'm glad he got mauled.

Same in Star Wars with Kylo Ren, Snoke, and Hux (Ren= pussy emo version Hayden Christensen 2.0, Snoke= Ripoff Emperor, Hux=Ginger/Nazi Grand Moff Tarkin, also Han Solo= Obi-Wan no matter what Harrison Ford says, Rey= Luke, Maz Katana=Yoda, you might even say that Phasma=Boba Fett basically) Yeah, characters are annoying but at least they aren't 99% rip-off.

The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are more memorable due to them being practical. Of course there's CGI and shit but they did really well on making it feel real. Everything here I just forgot, and now that I look back at it a lot of it looks fake as shit.

True, same goes to JP3, it's amazing how in the first two the effects were so good but in the latest two the effects suck so bad.

I think your criticisms are mostly true and YOU'RE RIGHT, but to me, Star Wars isn't exempt and I bet I'm bitching like that high-pitched kid in COD who won't take his voice off the mic but the truth is I think that everything people complain about Jurassic World, mostly can be applied to Star Wars but because of nostalgia and the entertainment factor, they ignore it. Look at how good Jurassic World was received but as time went on how people have turned on it, that's how I think/hope will happen to Star Wars and people will wake up from their pot-filled nostalgia remake joy-ride that I say is a giant fanboy fanfic so enjoy it while you can ppl.

Overall, I think if you compare Jurassic World and Star Wars, they are kinda similar with lacking of originality, and they're filled with flaws or annoying parts but since Star Wars was released more recently and their fanbase is larger: they can get away with it (Jurassic World vs Star Wars seems to be like Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton... they're both flawed and they're probably the two most scandal-filled candidates in which you could rip on, yet no one cares and keeps supporting them). I know, this might sound REALLY harsh but I'm not trying to be- just saying how I feel

Because of how entertaining it was I think Star Wars is a C but if it was any other franchise doing what they did I bet it would be a D.

I watched not a single new movie this Year, only some old ones. I think i am one of the few people in this world who just don`t like movies, especially Hollywood movies.

  • Well, that makes us two. I personally don´t really despise Hollywood since they have made imo. a couple of decent movies through the time that has passed. Gladiator is one example and if I know right, The silence of the lambs is a HW flick also?

  • Oh yeah. Fant4stic is the greatest anime ever. It even beats Corey in the House and The Happening.

    What about Fant4stic?

  • I still say The Room is the best anime of all time.

  • Heard it was better than the Ashton Ketchup version. What is good about it by the way? Not doubting it, but I want to know whats special about it.

  • That's a good one too.

I still say The Room is the best anime of all time.

  • What? Am I really the only one who has seen Tale of tales? :O How about Crimson Peak then?

I just find it quite odd since I´m pretty sure most of you members here would like them a lot.
