I just saw the new Star Wars film, it was pretty fucking awesome and was a return to form to the Star Wars franhise. In my opinion, all of the Star Wars prequels are bad. Episode 1 is bad, episode 2 is god awful, and episode 3 is gear budge. Have a great day and do you think the Star Wars prequels are that bad

Not as bad as The Force Awakens

I'd rank The Force Awakens as being more or less tied with Return of the Jedi, with only The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope being better films. All three films of the prequel trilogy are far below The Force Awakens in quality. Of the prequel films Revenge of the Sith was the only one that was halfway decent, but not anywhere near as good as either Return of the Jedi or The Force Awakens. Both Phatom Menace and Attack of the Clones were terrible films and a disgrace to the franchise.

You can edit your comments, and you don't have to be THAT way towards the minorities lol...
For me the rankings of the episodic films goes as such, from lowest to highest:
Personally, I really like Revenge of the Sith, and I see ROTJ, ROTS, and TFA being around equal.
No, people hate on them way too much. All of the Star Wars films are good.
Episode 1 was annoying.
Episode 2 was possibly the worst love story ever. The action scenes were good, I liked Yoda's duel, but I can understand why some people didn't.
Episode 3 was not that terrible. Anakin was still pretty bad.
No, my favorite prequel is Revenge of the Sith.
How is the Empire Strikes back the most interesting?
Completely, 100%, disagree. I thought the prequels were excellent. I suppose it's just opinion but I don't think they deserve the hate that they get.
Aside from the fucking love story (and Jar Jar Binks), I didn't mind the prequels that much, and I think ROTS is actually an decent film. The problem I had with them was that everything was so fancy (technology-wise), and it wasn't really believable, and I'm glad that Force Awakens fixes this.
Same but there are some disappointing moments. In episode 1, the race on Tatooine takes an hour to be finished. In episode 2, omg that love story is way too long and the fight with Count Dooku is probably the worst Jedi/Sith fight ever. Episode 3 is the one that makes sense.
EDIT:Also Jar Jar Binks
Part of the problem with the prequels was that unlike the original trilogy, they were saddled with terrible casting decisions. Hayden Christiansen was completely wrong for Anakin Skywalker in addition to being a bad actor, and Natalie Portman, who normally is much more talented...turned in a wooden performance.
It also didn't help that Lucas decided to both write and direct all three prequel films. He sucks at both and A New Hope was a fluke. (the only O/T film he wrote and directed)
Lucas was a good idea man, but not much of a director or a writer. He was 1 for 4 in Star Wars films where he directed and was the sole writer.
They're terrible. End of conversation.
What the fuck is a gear budge
Hoth, Yoda, Luke vs. Vader, space worm, asteroids, Lando.
Ok
They weren't as bad as people say
I thought they were okay, the 2nd and 3rd were watchable. Hated the first though
I really do like them, as they make the Star Wars universe so much bigger, but at the same time...
"I don't like sand..." -shudder-
But I still love them.
Yeah I like them pretty much overall but you gotta think about what went wrong when you like Jar Jar Binks more than Darth Vader... (talking about episode 1 here, chill out jeez)
If you have about an hour or two to spare, I recommend watching Mr. Plinkett's reviews on all three movies for a great summary of why the prequels are horrible.

I thought the prequels were good, I'd prefer prequel Jedi battles over the original ones. How can anyone hate Revenge of the Sith? It was the best prequel imo.
The story was good ( Anakin becoming a Jedi, seduced by palpatine, palpatine taking full control and killing the jedis..) but it was poorly directed/performed. It'd have been better if George Lucas had written the story only instead of directing the movies aswell.
I like the prequels. Seen them all at the theaters when I was younger and it was awesome. I'm not really into Star Wars anymore, though.
The prequels were meh, and I agree, the new movie was awesome
The prequel fights were so heavily choreographed it hurt though. It hardly ever looked like two people trying to kill each other. I'll take the emotion-fueled final battle between Luke and Vader or the pretty much perfect balance that was in The Force Awakens over...whatever the hell this was any day.

The lightsaber duel in the Force Awakens isn't as awesome looking in Revenge of the Sith. It is justified because lightsaber fighting is now an ancient fighting style and the fighters aren't trained in the art except one and even he is inexperienced.
But I deeply love the duel in Force Awakens because it has all been building to this point. The clash felt so intense because there is a reason behind every blow. And the grittiness and realism just adds more intensity and stakes in the duel.
So yeah I am taking an emotional intense duel over the perfectly choreographed duel in Revenge of the Sith. Although the duel would have been perfect if the duel was shorter and Anakin and Obi-Wan didn't start swinging, jumping and fighting over lava.
cringe
I am glad that Force Awakens brought the Force back as something mythical and vague like in the original trilogy.
Putting a scientific explanation in the Force destroys the magic behind it.
All Star Wars films are mediocre. Star Wars has got to be the most overrated franchise of all time.
What does overrated mean anyway? It's like worst, repetitive or disappointing? Sorry, I don't speak English.
It basically means something that's really popular that really shouldn't be. Call of duty is the best example I can think of. Overrated doesn't mean something is bad, just that it's not as good as people say or people exaggerate how good it is
It's a pretty opinionated thing to say
