Guillermo Del Toro´s take on Pinocchio

This one is one movie I am really looking foward to! Hope it will be made soon, Del Toro sure is one great director and Pan´s Labyrinth is absolutley one of the better movies made during the 2000´s.

  • Yeah, it should be interesting. I wonder if Jiminy Cricket will be in it?

In the original story, the talking cricket was hit by a hammer and killed by Pinocchio, then became a ghost.

I could see Guillermo Del Toro keeping this aspect in tact.

Wow. That's much different from Disney's version. I hope Guillermo Del Toro does keep that aspect in tact.

  • I have very hard seeing he wouldn´t stick closer to the original story by Carlo Collodi, I don´t think he´d change the ending all to much neither where Pinocchio dies from suffocation when getting hanged from a tree.

  • Aha, didn´t knew that but I have never read the story on the other hand. However, the movie by Disney was maybe the first movie I saw in my life, had it on VHS for like 15 years until it broke, was my favourite movie when I was 6-7 years. I was also never the least afraid of it, not even the slave keeper with his devil grin nor when the boys become donkeys. :P
