Alot of 80's and some 90's song are pretty emotional, so i can recommend pretty much most of those songs. Although this one is a favorite of mine enter link description here

When I listen to a song from a sad game, anime, show or movie I start to cry.

I love sad songs. A personal favorite of mine is:

(It's not my usual niche, but I still love it.)

Holocaust by Big Star, definitely. Not only are they one of the most underrated bands of all time, but this song has to be the saddest. While so many songs have heart and emotion in their sadness, "Holocaust" is all about apathy. It's embedded with a sense of dread and death.
pls watch for ur health
Now that's excellence!

It's a song about abortion. It hits hard and doesn't give you any easy answers.
I guess I dot have any "saddest songs" but I feel like Sam Smith's Writings on the Wall got me way more sung by a female.

Two of my favourite songs of all time on one of my favourite albums of all time by one of my favourite bands of all time. Don't Follow in particular never fails to strike a chord with me.
Condition of the Heart
Asleep
The only Alice in Chains song I know is Man in the Box until these! Thank you for introducing me to them! I can definitely understand the sentimental value in the second song.
No problem, from my teenage years until now they're basically one of the few bands that has remained consistently in my favourites. Probably because they evolved quite a bit over their career. RIP Layne.
Two more for the pile that fit the thread...

This is sad. What is happening to the music today. Dignity was raped and brain cells were murdered during production.

Not sure if it qualifies as "sad", but this one is quite somber and dark. There's also a cover version by Johnny Cash, but this one is more hushed and resigned. The artist also remade this song in a more upbeat fashion later on.

Concrete Angel by Martina McBride.

This song is really sad to me.
Apologies to my fellow Futurama fans
These 3 songs came to mind in a heartbeat (to make me cry)

Goddamn it, you bet me to it you bastard. :P
(Talking about So Far Away)
This one is both sad and lovely at the same time.

This one literally rips my heart out and shits on it.

And this one makes me feel sad.

Mary singing about crispy chicken should cheer you up.

Some of my favorites (turns out to be waay more than planned):
Not entirely sad but emotional for me
enter link description here
So beautiful and sad, just makes me nostalgic for my childhood
enter link description here
I literally cried the first time I heard this song and realized this was in honor of Freddie

Scrubs, just feels from Scrubs
enter link description here
A haunting song about domestic abuse, and Tracy Chapman is just so raw
enter link description here
How do you make this list without this song? Just personal fav version (wait till you hit the 2 mins)

I can play this song with some practice I love all the songs in the soundtrack of Amélie from Montmartre, especially this one and La Valse D'Amélie:

I was listening to Hallelujah and immediately thought: Shrek?
My childhood ;-;
It makes me a little happy, but now I'm sad again because I'm on a diet and that chicken wrap looked so good!
"I wear this crown of thorns upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time the feelings disappear
You are someone else. I am still right here"
