While we wait for Telltale to finish and start releasing new seasons, simlar games?
Okay so ever since I started to play Mass Effect and after that s1 of walking dead that just gave me the story without the gameplay. i've become "addicted" to games that let you decide the story, besides minecraft I've bought every single telltale game without as much as looking on a review cause so far they haven't let me down. I've also played Fallout, Life Is Strange, The Witcher, Until Dawn Dragon Age (though not the dlc if u have completed the game are the inquisition dlc worth buying and go back to and do they progress or is it more like me3 where the dlc just expand the game by giving u more mission before the final), and all the david cage games. I do love and play other games but these types of games like Life is strange I almost fall inlove with them. I'm really looking forward to the next tt game but since they aren't the biggest studio in the world it's not like we can get 1-2 episodes per month. Like even with established games like wd or wolf we are probably years away for s2 and s3 (Personally I would have preferred them doing the other games that is in the pipeline and skipped minecraft im also really hoping for a dr who game some day but people who like minecraft seems to enjoy it so I get why they made it ). I have looked at the new dreamfall and it looks great but from what I understand if you haven't played the old games u will be lost. And life is strange s2 is a long way off sine they are doing the vampire game first. So I was wonder if people have any recommendations for games that are similar that I have somehow missed. Or have I pretty much played the best and will just have to wait for witcher and fallout dlc?
To the moderator im posting this twice under general chat and forum games because I wasn't sure where this post should be.
Update:
great recommendations sadly played them all
I pretty much play all the big games that are a "must play". I was hoping to find a suprise like when I started to play stanley parable which I thought was hilarious. So far Firewatch looks like something fresh. Here is a list of all the games im currently keeping an eye on. Not all story games but they look fun. But like life is strange which I didn't know was coming and took me completely by suprise that is the experience im looking for. If it doesn't have choices but still has a gripping story im all ears.

lol,i think you played all good choice games
Beyond: Two Souls is definitely one you should look at if you're into those types of games. In terms of critical reception, some absolutely loved it, others not as much. I recommend you give it a shot...judging by what you play I think you will like it.
Although I haven't played this yet, i'm pretty sure Heavy Rain is also one you should look up and from what I remember it is largely based on choices also.
Another beauty is L.A. Noire, although it's less 'choice', as in the start and ending points are the same no matter what, how you get through each case, interrogating people and judging whether or not they are lying about certain things such as murders thefts etc. Idk how to explain it, just look it up. If you love stories, you'll love this...it just lacks the more impactful choices the games you mentioned have.
I'd definitely recommend playing trespaser for inquisition I found it quite good, it wraps things up nicely as well as sets up the next game. You could ignore the other 2 dlc
I hadn't played the previous dreamfall games either and while I was confused, particularly at the start I still really enjoyed them
That's what I was afraid of
I could have asked for just plain great story focused game without neccesarily being given choices but I honestly think I've played almost all of them aswell. But if you can think of a hidden gem with the story quality of bioshock series, last of us etc then by all means. My only problem is that I try and search for "games like X" in google and a list comes up and pretty much every game on the list I've already played
like I said I've played every david cage game, even fahrenheit, but I actually wasn't a big fan of beyond two souls. I loved heavy rain but for some reason beyond two souls just didn't click for me. I'm thinking of replaying it once it's out on ps4 and do a chronological playthrough to see if maybe I'll like it more but I'm honestly more looking forward to getting to play Kara, the 15 minute Kara demo blew me away.
And L.A. Noire was too big for it's own good. Very interesting concept but the game is just too big. The empty desert in red dead redemption felt more alive then the streets of L.A Noire. I get it your a cop so it wouldn't make sense that u would go around shooting random people. But it would have been better if they had canned the open world and just have you focus on the story if they weren't going to fill it up with anything other then making u drive from the police station to the crime scene.
Like I said to the other guy:

you wouldn't happen to know if someone has made like a 15 minute catch up video or something for dreamfall just so I will understand the general broadstrokes. I'm actually thinking of just reading the plot of the first game and then watch a cutscene walkthrough of the second game but if someone has made a video just explaining the essentials that would be great. I think it's admirable that they want to make a game for really dedicated fans from way back, but it's not my fault I was to young and didn't own a pc when the first game came out so why the devs wouldn't make an optional explainer intro is beyond me. Deus Ex was technically a sequal to a really old game but they managed to get you to understand the world pretty quickly. From what I understand dreamfall is primarly made for hardcore fans.
you could play DEUS EX games, they have choices and are good too,and uncharted series is good as well
P.S.tomb raider series too
Sorry I didn't realise Cage made Beyond and Heavy Rain, my mistake.
Damn about L.A. Noire, that's one of my favourites of all time. Suppose it's all just opinion so fair enough if you didn't click with it.
I'll try think of others but they are few and far between...it seems like you've played most haha.
My two favourite games of all time are Xenoblade Chronicles and Ōkami, both have incredible stories, but being JRPG's they are very action/RPG orientated, so you may not get into them, doesn't hurt to look though.
Have you played Spec Ops: The Line?
Uncharted and Tomb Raider don't really let you choose the story, good games though, can recommend.
Firewatch Trailer
It's not out until early next month, but I'd recommend checking out Firewatch by Campo Santo. It's a tailored-story game created by Telltale Alumni that were the main writers/designers of Telltale's Walking Dead: Season 1. You can find information about it at http://www.firewatchgame.com/
I can't wait to play Firewatch, I hope its as good as everything they've been showing
Blues & Bullets is pretty cool, Episode 2 should be releasing next month.

If your a fan of more traditionally done adventure games King's Quest 2015 is enjoyable so far.

I just played Until Dawn and I have to say, despite its flaws, I thought it was highly enjoyable.
i know, but he also said if he played all other choices based games what games that are non-based on choices are awesome.
I am really looking forward to play Firewatch. The atmosphere looks amazing and the dialogues seems really good and down-to-earth.
I am hoping to eventually buy King's Quest once every episodes is out, but I fear that by the time every episodes has been released, I am off to my University year.
I got spec ops spoiled cause I played the demo and thought it just was a generic shooter. Then I heard what it was about and regretted not playing it
