What do you think happens to the traitor if....

You spared him, saved Asher in episode 5, and Gwyn ends up appearing with Talia at the end?

Your sentinel would die if you spared the traitor, and Gwyn would appear if you truly wanted peace.

Thoughts?

  • My guess is that if you end up with Gwyn, both Royland and Duncan will die no matter who the traitor was, dead or alive.

  • I get the impression that the traitor is automatically whoever you did not pick as your Sentinel when playing as Ethan.

... Talk about some serious sour grapes.

  • They are.

I think Talia saved either the sentinel or the traitor. If Asher didn't cross Gwyn then Talia was probably with her, leaving both sentinel and traitor without aid and therefore dying.

  • While Royland being a traitorous dick kinda seems to fit his character, I admit to being a bit surprised that Duncan would do the same if the roles are reversed.
Duncan plays certain other parts in the story that Royland doesn't... that would have worrying implications if he was the traitor.

For instance, I promised to Lord Greg as Gared that I'd pass on the message about the North Grove... so it didn't give me the option NOT to tell anyone about it... SO the only person he told it to was.... Duncan. If I'd then made Duncan the traitor through not choosing him, that could have been troublesome... potentially.

Then again, I also wonder if Royland would have said the same thing if I'd picked Duncan as Sentinel, but then chose all of Royland's war-like options regardless.
    Can't say as I know, I guess.

No, your sentinel can be the traitor it depends if you were reckless or not.

  • Really? I never knew that. I thought whoever you didn't pick to be sentinel would be the traitor.

In that case, I'm surprised Royland (who was the sentinel in my playthrough) didn't turn out to be the traitor. I kissed Ludd's ring, and also submitted and stayed down to Gryff.

  • I think I may be wrong, trying to look It up.

  • You would be wrong in this respect, whether you're reckless or not only changes the traitor's dialog when he is discovered.

  • If Duncan is the traitor, there's an option to ask him if he told them about the North Grove. His response is something along the lines of ''I've kept the secrets that matter''.

This also means that Rodrik knew about the North Grove.

  • Yes - Duncan as a traitor makes sense because we can rationalise it as it being him trying to keep rodrik from doing something stupid (convincing Rodrik didn't work so he used the Whitehills to stop Rodrik lashing out) but if it's Royland... well... that just doesn't make sense.

Due to the cruel irony of my play through formats I have Royland twice (once as traitor, once as sentinel) and Duncan dead both times. R.I.P. Duncan, my most trusted advisor, my most loyal servant, a man of peace and courage...

  • Same thing that happened to the sentinel in my gwyn ending having kileld the traitor.

    I.e...no clue :P

  • So your sentinel would live if Gwyn is there at the end?

  • I actually tried to test this. I played the whole game again, picked Duncan as my sentinel but listened to Royland and did the options he would approve of. Royland was still the traitor.

  • I think he says you dragged the house's dignity through the dirt.

If you don't make Duncan sentinel and you do everything he says he mentions something like pushing this house to war, against all reason.

  • SInce ending with Gwyn is such a minority choice (I think about 17.7% of Asher players is the stat), Telltale will likely close it off by having the group encounter the escaped traitor and then having Asher and Talia join up with him while Gwyn goes off to do whatever she's up to in the other S2 storylines.

  • He just said "hell you even managed to get Arthur killed" no other negative reason for hating me.

  • The traitor could find a way out of the war and find his way to Asher since the traitor disliked Rodrik as a lord and said that Asher would be a better lord its a possibility that he escaped and will later meet with gywn and asher, talia.

  • I just finished with the 5th episode and for some reason, the story somehow changed my sentinel? When Ethan was alive, I chose Duncan as my sentinel and mostly took his advice, if not always. But when I started playing the 5th episode, I noticed Royland was wearing the sentinel badge and I don't recall ever making him sentinel when I started playing as Rodrick.

When I found out my traitor was Duncan, he started saying things that didn't really happen in my story and said I chose Royland as my sentinel. I'm assuming it had to be a glitch in the game. Been noticing similar things happening in an episode or two...

    Anyone else have that problem?
