How do you want the story to begin?

Let's say that I have an opportunity to write the beginning of the Forrester's story in Season 1, I would have begun the story where all of the Forresters (Sadly with the exception of Asher) are together in Ironrath. 2 years before the War started and before Mira went to Highgarden to become a handmaiden.

The story will start with Rodrik's or Gared's point of view. We will observe how the Forresters interact with one another.

Through Rodrik, we get the sense of what kind of bonds he had with everyone. Maybe there is a scene that show that Rodrik wanted to spend more time with Talia, Ethan, Ryon and Mira, but he is forced to put his duty first, making him appear cold and serious to his younger siblings. Also a scene with his father and their close bond. Maybe a scene with Royland and Duncan, where their relationships were at its most best. (Which would make the traitor scene more tragic) We also get a scene with Mira. They are both the eldest of their siblings currently at home now, maybe they talk about Asher and how their miss him? Maybe Mira will talk about how she feels worried about becoming a handmaiden and Rodrik reassures her that she will do fine.

Through Gared, we see his interactions with the younger Forresters, maybe Gared appears like he has replaced Asher to the eyes of Ethan, Talia and Ryon? And maybe we see how Lord Gregor show his kindness and fairness toward his people, thus living up to his name as "the Good".

There will be a timeskip, Mira has left Ironrath. Then we see a raven with a message that Robb Stark is calling his banners to save his father. The last shot is all of the Forrester's reactions to the news.

After that, there will be another timeskip and it will start exactly how Episode 1 started. This is just how I wanted the story to start. I am fine with what we got, but it would have been really nice to see all of the Forresters together and how proud and strong the House was before the Red Wedding, which makes it all the more tragic for what happens later.

  • I've been yearning for a flashback sequence as well. It would be pretty tragic considering how many of the Forrester children are now deceased.

However, the flashback would be kind of unnerving to play as Rodrik if you sacrificed him in episode 5. Maybe if Rodrik is alive you get the Ironrath flashback with the family, but if Asher is alive you see his first rough days in Essos and how Beskha took care of him.

  • I don't think he's talking talking about season 2.

    I don't think he's talking talking about season 2.
