The Ruined Childhood Thread
Growing, you see things that really change your perspective on timeless shows you once loved as a child.
And I mean really change.
For example:
And though I always hated Caillou, this article got to me:
So please, do share anything, ranging from a gifset to a mere sentence, that really warped your view of a children's franchise you once knew as a kid.

Actually rolling on the floor crying looking at this shit right now... I miss the N64 days so much...
Edit: Oh, ruined childhood for TV shows and such... Fuck it. It still ruins my childhood.
After Disney went all Japananimation like with J-Pop and cute Chibi Moe characters on Wreck it Ralph... I doubt I can ever look at Disney the same way, nor can I shrug the desire for more adorable Disney films. They really used this film as an excuse to show their anime fandom. Then again it hasn't been a huge secret for years... but this was the first time their employee's showed it off in a big way. lol

Nah I should've mentioned ruined childhood video games count too, so this is as legit as a show/movie.

I hate the term "ruined childhood", but there's definitely things that people have made that made me re-look at some of the things that I enjoyed as a kid (and still enjoy, hence my hate for the term since nothing's been ruined, but I digress).
This fan theory is definitely on the top of the list, since Back to the Future is my favorite film series, and this definitely makes me think about Doc's character in the films (at least in the original timeline) in a different light:
Suicidal Doc theory
It actually makes you kind of glad that the original Doc was overwritten with the Doc that knew he would succeed at building a time machine. The first Doc was a jerk.
I look at the title of this thread, and suddenly I'm reminded by this video:

Yep all of thEse cAUseD ME AN ANEURYSM.
And I laughed, of course.
The Powerpuff Girls one though...
omg...
I heard somewhere that the story of Peter Pan was representative of a child murderer killing several children (Wendy, Her brothers, The Lost Boys) and after death, them being sent to Heaven (Neverland) I was pretty shaken up about it and will never see the movie in the same way ever again.
.....
i knew clicking in this thread was a bad idea....
So basically Dora was ruined for me.
If you want a ruined childhood, just look up Zone
Thankfully, I never had a childhood, nothing for me was ruined.
I love this, thanks for reminding me of it.
This kind of ruined my childhood.

Is this what cancer looks like?
The multiple "revelations" about the Scooby Gang
-Fred and Daphne were always off having sex instead of finding clues.
-Velma was a lesbian (Before I get a thousand angry replies, I'd like to point out that there's nothing wrong with homosexuality.)
-Shaggy and Scooby were stoners.
Watch Jin Roh, best version of Red Riding Hood ever. In fact the film tells two versions of Red Riding Hood, an old dark original, as well as the film's own version. It is on my top 5 list of favorite animated films of all time. hehe
Every now and then, reddit is actually good for something.
Check out the BertStrips subforum on reddit, you will NEVER look at sesame street the same way again.
Here's one:
R.I.P. Conker.

This is a slap to the face for loyal fans, that's what it is.
This may just be nostalgia, but the original was really fucking good.
But this?
Oh god it is terrible.
Just watched it today. It was great! The beginning with the girl and the satchel was so brutal though. Thanks for recommending it to me!
Truly a masterpiece film, it won a lot of awards internationally, just not in the United States. Darn Hollywood is insanely bias toward foreign films. If you liked that you likely will also love The Sky Crawlers made by the same studio but many years later. It blows most aviation films made in the past 30 years literally out of the water, Skywalker Sound did the audio and surprising I think it's their best work in audio to date as well. I remember watching it on Blu-Ray with surround sound, opening scene with the opening dog fight literally ripped my soul a part it was so spectacular. lol
Can't get the image to show up. Oh well.
It works, I saw it in my feed.
...unfortunately.
Lmao. I saw that one a while back.
...unfortunately.
