I'm sorry, but I have to ask what are you getting out of all this? You're not even defending an opinion anymore, you're basically insulting one another!
Please, can one of you break this up? We don't need such low quality discussion in this forums.

Hey mate. If you like Asher more than Rodrik, it is perfectly fine. But I just want to hear other reasons to choose Asher over Rodrik other … morethan him being a better fighter and having the loyalty of the Pit Fighters. Both of these points aren't exactly true when in Episode 6, Rodrik managed to fight remarkably well despite being months out of practices and managed to force a cooperation with the Pit Fighters.

I didn't mind Rodrik in all honesty, I just felt like Asher would have the better story going forward from that point. I do plan to replay the game and make different choices this time around.
Some of my big ones were letting Gryff live, picking Asher over Rodrik, not stabbing Ramsey Snow and choosing to Ambush Ludd instead of poison him.
Also plan to have a save where I have Mira marry the merchant. That's probably the biggest regret I had with my current save file, I kept expecting someone to save her, needless to say I was a bit shocked when I saw the blade come down on her neck..
Might have to play through 2 more times, just to fit in all the choices, haven't wanted to play through a Telltale game more than once since TWD season 1.
no doubt Rodrik has amazing will power, but House Forrester needed someone who could cleave off some heads.
Lol it's funny because R… moreodrik is the only person who actually takes any heads throughout the game. Laughs
Also you can't argue that the Pit Fighters had some level of respect for Asher, which no matter how much talking Rodrik did they would never have for him.
True, but there was about ten of them, and now they're dead, so...
Although after watching the scene where Rodrik puts up his last stand I'm curious if maybe he healed up a bit more than the game was leading us on. Since he was fighting flawlessly, until the numbers game got to him.
Rodrik had fully recovered by the end of Episode 5. He was gradually getting better anyway, but the burning of his cane cemented it. Again, it's always funny, because if you watch Rodrik and Asher run to the wheel, only one of them is wounded and limping. And it's no… [view original content]
in all honesty you can't discount the fact that Asher had Gwen and even before seeing Ludd present the offer to unite the houses you knew she would play a pretty big role heading forward. Might have even been some peace between the two families (atleast enough to give the Forresters a chance to recoup their losses, and regain some strength) if the mom didn't decide to kill Ludd by herself.
That option most likely wouldn't have been on the table provided Rodrik survived instead of Asher. (Although I have to play through and see what happens if you save Rodrik, I assume Ludd still comes to make an offer but has far less generous terms for Rodrik than he had for Asher.. IE making Rodrik give up his wife or some other nonsense.. I assume the rest probably plays out the same way, with the poison or Ambush option.

Hey, it's all cool. I mean, it is your game. It's just there are a lot misconceptions about that choice. And I can't help but call them out when I see them it's nothing personal I promise.

IT WAS HIS DUTY TO DIE! Nope, as lord, he is the last person who's duty it is to die. You don't sacrifice a king for a knight.
For me the reason was quite simple , the House is in ruins . I thought that despite the marriage to Elaena the outcome would be the same , there is no guarantee after loosing your house another house would stick their neck out for you , so I went with the wild card . I think Asher has a greater chance than Rodrik of winning a guerrilla war .The same reason why I had Mira send the boy in her place , maybe a chance to get revenge later . All a guess but aren't we all just speculating ?
Rodrik has always been a popular character, even more so than Asher until Episode 5, where everyone flip-flopped. However, what's happened n… moreow is, many of the idiotic people who left Rodrik because of brain-dead reasoning such as:
* HE'S A CRIPPLE! Nope, he's recovered, and wrecking Whitehills with ease.
* THE ARMY WONT FOLLOW HIM! You mean the ten pit fighters? Yeah, he forced them in line easily, as I said he would from day-1.
* ASHER IS MORE BADASS! Even though his attitude and methods of fighting throughout the episode are mild compared to Rodrik's?
* IT WAS HIS DUTY TO DIE! Nope, as lord, he is the last person who's duty it is to die. You don't sacrifice a king for a knight.
* I COULDN'T SPLIT UP ASHER AND BESKHA! So you'd split up Rodrik and Elaena instead, as well as break the hearts of the Sentinel, Lady Forrester, and Talia?
* ASHER CAN WIN THE WAR! Well, considering he loses by default, with the death of Rodrik, … [view original content]
