    OMFG I'M DYING!

  • Alright, I just finished the Automatron DLC, and I liked it. It was rather short, but still enjoyed it. That final fight with The Mechanist tho. I was a bit disappointed with the face reveal of The Mechanist however.

For anyone that finished the DLC, has anyone encountered a glitch where that fucking asshole robot, Jezebel, becomes hostile after dismissing Ada?

  • He posted this before?

    @GiraffeHat YOU MEME STEALER

  • Nah, I meant Giraffe is the meme stealer. He showed me it today.

    He posted this before?

  • Not had the glitch.

And of course it's short. It's main feature is to just build robots. I didn't expect much from such a cheap dlc.

Same as next dlc is only £3.99, i'm not expecting massive ones yet

  • Meme are MADE to be shared and reposted.

    That's literally their entire purpose.

I've flagged you for bullying. Stop bullying me.

DLC is such wasted potential but only because of pre-existing limitations. Mostly with Companion AI making these new fancy Robot's we can build kind of crappy companions. I can easily say Curie with Heavy Combat Armor and customized Automatic Laser Rifle is more dangerous than a fully modified custom built Sentry Bot Companion.

That's saying a lot because combat wise Curie isn't the best companion in the game. There seems to be something seriously up with the AI for these machines, they seem to have very very poor accuracy, ineffective engagement ranges, and often run around like a headless chicken rather than attack anything.

Best example. When I built a Sentry Bot for the first time I decided to test it on the BOS. Lets say one BOS with a Laser Gattling, easily, dispatched it. Tested it again vs Super Mutants. A Glowing Mutant Hound, a normal Mutant Hound and a Skirmisher bum rushed it, and lets say it didn't kill a single one of them before they disabled the Sentry Bot.

Those are just examples. I spent my playing time today with a Sentry Bot in tow. Even when giving it orders and commands it's pretty much ineffective, acts as if it's confused. And when it does engage a target it's well... lack luster, sure it can kill stuff, but they're not as good as a normal companion.

When compared to an enemy NPC Sentry Bot, I can honestly say the one you can build is about 10-25% as effective. Which is a pity. It feels like a early game difficulty Sentry Bot, rather than a late game Sentry Bot. I even tried twin laser gatlings on it and well ya. Didn't seem to matter.

Sad being I really wanted to make the Minuteman "Sarge II" and for those with the Minuteman they know who I'm talking about.

  • They ran out of ideas, i mean look what they did to fallout 3's DLC i think it's better (i only played mothership zeta btw lol) but to me i still prefer Fallout New Vegas DLC the story is more interesting connected to the last 2 fallout games

  • This isn't really suppose to be a story dlc. There's one coming out soon. I think we'll be able to say if they ran out of ideas if that dlc flops. Just because a companion creation dlc isn't spectacular doesn't necessarily mean new additions to the story will fall short as well.

  • Guys, did you know that you can mod Codsworth and Curie with new pieces?

  • How? I didn't see the option.

You need to have him in the same settlement as the robot workbench or have him following you.

I'm not complaining about the DLC just the companion AI making the "Robots" kind of useless. Being they can not take cover, and dodge attacks, they pretty much stand there like someone in power armor and take shots... if they even fight back at all. It's an issue with Companion AI, which was and has never been suitable for companions in Power Armor let alone Robots themselves. Robots just charge enemies, blasting away like Codsworth does. That and strength wise.. despite that they're leveled with the player, they're insanely weak in my opinion. Because unlike humanoids you can not give them Beefed up armor and weapons, only the modded equipment provided and much of that is sub par when compared to some of the fancy stuff you can make.

Time to make him more like a Mr. Gutsy.

You have to choose the "speak as Silver Shroud" option when you get the choice.

  • I dread fighting assaultrons. Something about the way they charge you causes me to panic every single time. The great thing is, that was probably totally intentional.

    Assaultrons own all.

  • Sentry Bots are a bit deadlier because they fuckin explode once defeated.

  • Careful! he loses the ability to wear hats! even if you don't mod him, as soon as you put him in the workstation he will never be able to wear a hat again. :(
I found this out the hard way.

I'm turning Codsworth into an Assaultron.
