  • LiS got 5 nominations and Tales got none... I'll just wait here and see how this thread goes...

    Rise?

Rise didn't get any nominations either.

  • Where's The Order 1886?

  • plot twist: life is strange will be replace by tales during the live event.

  • Eh, they'd/they'll likely lose anyway. At least in the cattegories where The Witcher 3 is nominated.

  • How the hell is "British game" a nomination? Where are the other country nominations then?

  • Mad about the ending?

  • Hella yes

  • im voting witcher for everything. and bullshit that the witcher soundtrack didnt get nominated. what a bunch of bs.

    LiS over Tales?? pls

  • I think everyone can agree despite enjoying the series that the "endings" were abrupt, and lazy as hell.

  • I really love TFTB but I gotta say I don't agree at all with the points you make about LIS

  • Actually, a lot of people actually ended up liking both endings. Though, with any game there are those that don't and there are some good reasons to feel that way.

  • How is Battlefront not nominated for artistic achivement? The game looks amazing, and besides it being a Star Wars game, the visuals are the only reason it sold so many copies.

Batman - Arkham Knight got artistic achievement. Enough to tell me that the process is a joke. ;)

Don't get me wrong, the game looks artistic but Rise of the Tomb Raider should have gotten it instead.

I'd say most of the games in the "artistic achievement" cattegory fit more into a "technological achievement" cattegory, and I'd say Arkham Knight on PS4 and XBO (especially the former) would deserve it. It looks comparable to Epic's Samaritan tech demo, which was just one small space (while AK is open world) and I believe the PC that ran on may havebeen more powerful than a PS4.

Arkham Knight looks best on PC if you've a machine to run it on max.

Still, why I don't believe it should have won is because it's basically a game that use same style as its processors for the most part. Just with higher poly count and pretty Harley Quinn. And they did put some effort to the eyes etc to make characters look less creepy during the interaction parts.

Are they sure they didn't give it aesthetical achievement due Harley Quinn as that was quite prominent part of their promotional stuff. Just implying that maybe voting is largely from straight males.

  • That's pretty much true for any multiplat game, I just didn't mention the PC version because of how broken it was at launch, it was even missing some effects from the console versions. I've heard it's gotten better, but I still hear people having problems with it.

I'd say the setting might be why a lot voted. Gotham looks great, but that's mostly thanks to it always being nightime, and it's always raining. Other than the better character models, it still pulls off more and higher quality effects on-screen than the previous games, thanks to not being limmited by the last gen consoles.

  • This is why I hate video game awards, they're so cancerous

    WINNERS

  • The only real gripe I have is Best Game going for FO4 and Her Story getting the mobile award.

I'm actually amazed TW3 got nothing.

  • Wow no Witcher 3 award? I'm kinda sad.

    WINNERS

  • I think, there is no Award for the Best, But At the Same Time, Most boring looking game of the year. And No Best mustaches award either.

    Where's The Order 1886?

  • You're Right. Thats Racist!

How the hell is "British game" a nomination? Where are the other country nominations then?

  • edited April 2016

Eh, it already has more awards overall than pretty much every other nominee combined. Not that much of a tragedy. :S

  • True. It does hurt me to see LiS get the story and not Tales or Witcher 3. But your right.

Life is Strange gets Best Story.

Don't get me wrong, I liked it but it doesn't deserve Best Story.

Well its the British arts film and television awards so realy the grubby foreigners are lucky to be included at all

How the hell is "British game" a nomination? Where are the other country nominations then?

  • There were meant to be six though

Actually, a lot of people actually ended up liking both endings. Though, with any game there are those that don't and there are some good reasons to feel that way.

  • What about the architecture, posters, statues and atmospherics? the futuristic art deco dystopian city was beautifully designed. Graphics dont equate to art realist eyes have absolutely nothing to do with art direction

Game of Thrones should have gotten nominated and won instead.

TFTB should've been nominated. GoT was pretty unexciting for the most part.

I agree Game of Thrones should have gotten nominated and won instead.

  • I was kinda being sarcastic when I mentioned GoT.

The story for Tales is solid but it isn't really anything compelling. The story in GoT just is "meh" and doesn't mesh together well at all.
