This was how Witcher franchise makers responded when targeted by SJW to change their characters I found it interesting
Czech d… moreeveloper makes a game based on 15th century Bohemia with historical accuracy ]
SJW scream "muh diversity" because the characters in the same are pretty much all white
Developer explains that the game is based on history and that there were almost no non-white people in that period in Bohemia
Developer basically saying that if they want more diversity so much that they should make their own games based on their culture
Females are sexually attractive because that's how they're supposed to get the men approach them in the first place, then later on it's replaced with other reasons than how they look.
So can we just shut up about this matter at least for a few days. It has been years of this "bullcrap" so to say and we need an vacation. Also if Tracer wasn't someone who liked to look sexy then why she would wear such impractical outfit (which by game logic doesn't hinder her at all.)
Also guess what, most females are attracted to butts too.
So conclusion, censoring a pose that highlights Tracer's butt is kind of silly if it was done due pressure and not actual internal decision process.
Companies have every right to censor their own intellectual property if they want to. Also, it's worth noting that the company changed it because it was out of character not because of the SJW's.
They weren't being coerced.
Hello Blizzard, I have always been a huge fan of your products, and I want to purchase Overwatch. However, I cannot buy it when a character like this is doing such a problematic pose.
Please remove it. It is triggering me and is not family friendly, and completely out of character.
As @GSSSalvador said, the problem is more about using the same pose for every character. As I pointed out, Widowmaker still uses the exact same pose in the game, so the change in Tracer's pose is not in any way a problem that it's somehow "triggering" people or is not "family friendly".
They replaced Tracer's pose with something that's actually different. I honestly don't get why people are being so upset about this. Surely, more variety in assets is actually a good thing, right?

Sure, change is good, but why even change it? Why not just have multiple poses? It just feels like they're caving into demands, and I don't respect a developer that has no willpower.

Well taking off youre clothes isnt necessary if youre wearing somethink skin tight.
What I was saying was, if Tracer was a male, and w… moreas in the exact same pose, 100% the same, no one would care.
If that male character was wearing a skin tight body suit which showed off curves and did that pose? I think many would. I certainly would.
But that happens rarer for male characters. Which is logical and understandable because most developers are straight guys who prefer making Tracer wear those clothes and make that pose than characters like Solid Snake.
Regardless the vast majority of peopel on this thread seem to think that askign for a pose that is bad characterisation to be removed is censorship and SJWs gone mad or whatever, so when you say 'no-one would care' that doesnt seem to be true here.
Pure minutae.
So let me get this straight... Huge game companies underpay their employees and treat them like shit and nobody bats an eye… more. But if they remove a character pose, it's "the end of ethics in the video game industry". Makes sense to me!
Seriously, they removed a butt pose from a game...who fucking cares??? Oh yeah, clickbait magnates and Internet pundits who get ad revenue by manufacturing outrage about things that don't matter. Anita and that fat dude in the first video are both on the same team: team money.
Good lord.
They removed it because it didn't fit the character. It would have worked well on the (female) sniper character because she revels in her se… morexuality unlike Tracer, so it didn't make sense from a character perspective.
Not everything has to be about gender. People on both sides seem to take every chance they can to make something about feminism and it just isn't relevant.
For the record though, in response to the above, I've seen many people claim they play the opposite gender on games which give the option, like Mass Effect or World of Warcraft, because 'they'd rather be staring at a insert gender here ass' for their playtime.
They're not caving into demands, as there was only one post that suggested that they change Tracer's pose. The director simply agreed with the post and stated that the team had thought the same thing themselves. There's no way that a team would go through the trouble to create a new asset for a character over one post if they had originally planned to keep it.
The art team had actually made an alternate pose for Tracer, prior to the suggestion being made. The post suggesting that they change it was just a confirmation to the art team that they weren't the only ones who wanted the change.

True, but in in the end it's the art team that has the final decision. This was their decision, that wasn't influenced by any outside parties, as they had already made the decision themselves. They simply got confirmation, through that post, that someone else thought the same way they did.
They had already planned on changing it, after an internal discussion. They had already created an alternate pose for Tracer. Regardless of whether that post was made or not, they still would have made the change. They wouldn't have gone through the trouble of creating an alternate pose for her if they didn't plan on changing it themselves, regardless as to whether the suggestion was made or not.
I think everyone would agree that creators should have the freedom to do what they want with their own work. Since this was their own decision, because they had already created an alternate pose for her prior to the suggestion, they should be free to make that change.
Plus, as I said, in this case, it's actually better for everyone as it gives some variety to the assets. Now players won't see the same exact pose for every single character. Players actually get something different with Tracer, and variety is a good thing. So, I really don't understand where all the hate is coming from.
As there was only one post that suggested they changed tracer's pose.

Who is to say they won't make more changes later down the road? The game still is in the beta period. Changes like this happen all the time in beta, as it's the whole point of the process.
However, even if they don't, so what? The game still has more variety than it would have had before the change was made.
The thing that gets me about this is that if they had simply made the change as they planned to do, and the director never replied to that post, there would be absolutely no controversy over this change.
There was no outrage from people upset about any perceived sexualization of the women in the game (which I don't even get why people think that there was, as it makes no sense. If there really was outrage over sexualization of female characters in the game, people would be complaining about Widowmaker's pose, and no one ever did). There was just a huge amount of people who became outraged because the director replied to the post that suggested that Tracer's pose be changed.
If the director of the game had never replied to that post, and had just changed the pose like they had planned to do, everyone would be happy because there would be more variations in the poses available in the game.
To be honest, I doubt there would be no outrage if they just changed it. It's just how the internet is. They'll get angry over a picture of an banana, if they could.

Gaijin decides that the junkers Ju87 should not be allowed to dog fight, despite historically it was an agile aircraft, just a slow aircraft they decided to nerf it's elevator and horizontal controls to the point that the Ju87B and R can barely dive bomb, while the Ju87D ya good luck dive bombing. Then they remove the dive brakes on the Ju87D-5 and decide to turn it into an attacker, despite that most Ju87D-5's had dive brakes. Oh and the D-5 saw even more flight model nerfs because it had twin 20mm MG151 cannons. Then, they introduce the American Helldiver, which can out climb, out run, and out perform a Ju87 in every single way, but it has the same battle rating as a Ju87D-5....... DAMN YOU GAIJIN! What is sad? I can still shoot down people who fly American planes with a Ju87 because they think Merica and they should automatically win and refuse to learn how to fly. lol
So when someone complains about a "Pose" I'm utterly shocked... because that isn't even worth typing what i just typed, time wise. lol

Eastern Europe will not bend to EU in regards to immigration and I see they also not gonna bend the knee to the diversity and feminism fanat… moreics in gaming, seeing how good Witcher 3 did I see good future for Eastern Europe developers. Its really starting to look like a new bastion of freedom compared to the west.
We don't really know the whole story, either Blizzard changed it because they felt like they had to, or they really did have another pose pl… moreanned.
They felt they had to because there was such a split between her character and her pose. If the sniper had that pose there'd be no issue. It was simply bad characterisation.
Also, if it all was truly about Tracer's character not matching the pose, would this complaint still be valid if Tracer was a guy instead of a woman.
Absoltuely 100% yes.
Imagine if, after scoring a headshot, solid snake pulled down his trousers, revealed a thong, slapped his bum and winked at the camera. It'd be completely and utterly random and not fit remotely with his character.
However, a male character who's obsessed with sex and sexuality doing that wouldn't seem THAT out of place.
Similarly, Tracer, whose characterisation has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality, seems really random whe… [view original content]
That's exactly what they had always planned on doing. Here's the new pose, which looks miles better than the original. It adds more personality to her character, and adds much more variety to the poses to the game.
Hopefully now people will stop arguing over whether this was done due to some odd sense of removing all female sexuality from the game (which never made sense, considering no one ever complained over the character of Widowmaker), and believe the director when he said they did it because it fit her character better (and just looks better to boot).

Thought I'd just jump in here to note that The Witcher is fucking amazing. (Books and games.)
Wait, what? I think I will pass on this game lmao. Its not that big of a deal, there are still many games with booty.
What? No! Her organization is nonprofit!!
you know the Jane thing makes sense now. But Im not going to start something.

I agree, it's my favorite. Fast rap tupac serbia!
But how can you know that it's out of character?

Males have been sexualized in many games, almost as many games as women, I have yet to see a single ounce of controversy about any of it.
If we don't make a big deal about it and fight back against pointless censorship, it won't be long until every game in existence is a SJW simulator.
Tracer doesn't reveal her sexuality? She clearly did in the pose, though.

Take the pose out and replace it. Make it better too. Problem solved.

I could see ocelot spanking his bethonged ass
Definitely Reviews all 10 and multiple GOTY sold millions and was massive success for the company
Perfect example of creating games you want to make and not catering to SJW forced decisions works out just concentrate on making an amazing game

This is one of the most ridiculous 'controversies' I have seen
how do you go from a post about a pose not fitting a character, to a giant controversy about butts
how
