The Heavy Rain Thread
I'm pretty sure this thread won't gain much popularity, but what the hell, it's been a while since I've been on here. Here is a thread that is about my favorite video game, Heavy Rain. Here you can discuss basically anything about it, your opinions, theories, favorites, and many other things about Heavy Rain. Happy discussing!

What's there to discuss? I like Madison's bum, it's very prominent and round, same with Ethan, much bum.
Was the opposite for me, seemed like they were intentionally hiding clues so you couldn't find out who it was. Like when Manfred gets murdered, you were controlling Shelby the whole time and he didn't do anything. At first I thought he died from old age but I don't think your head gets cracked open from that.
Yeah, it's the personality that matters you ding dong. I'm a hypocrite.
I didn't think it was obvious at all, I was actually shocked.
Getting the platinum for this game is proving to be a pain in the arse.
I mean, I was a bit disappointed that it was Shelby. Damn, I liked him so much, still do of course. But also it made sense that he went around and collected clues to destroy 'em. So I'm 50/50 'bout the endin'.
Yeah but it was a cheap shock, like the game just intentionally hid it so you couldn't figure it out on your own, which is all the fun.
Heavy Rain. A game that I feel like is the ONLY story driven game that actually changes based on decisions you make. And with a very good mystery story as well. More variety than Until Dawn, that's for certain.
Awesome game! I loved that if a character died because you messed up they're dead. Doesn't matter where you are in the story, they're dead, no reload.
Kind of annoying though how one QTE can mean the life of a character, it does add a layer of intensity to them though.
It is a great game and the only one where your choices actually matter.
I adore Heavy Rain despite it's problems.
I love this game but I do feel like some parts are a bit weak. For example, Ethan and Madison's relationship, in my opinion, seems quite forced. Like they only just meet and then a day later (I think it's a day) they can end up sleeping together.
I wish there was more backstory to Madison as well. I know that they scrapped some parts regarding her character. Originally, her apartment was in the process of being redecorated and the player could personalize it and I think you could go to her newspaper office to conduct research, speak with her boss and write articles. Also, we never actually find out why she suffers from insomnia but it was revealed that in her past she was a war correspondent in Iraq.
Madison came across as a creeper and for a while I thought she was the OK.
I thought it was a bit easy, I mean you have to really mess up for anyone to die, and Madison can honesty be a get out of jail free for everyone towards the end. Also there were a fair number of plotholes also.
I did enjoy the story though.
"SHAAAAAAAAAAAAUN!"
"JAAAAAAAAAASOOON!"
-Ethan, never forget </3
on a serious note, I enjoyed it although I only watched a LP, that stuff made me cry
A game that sort of got me hooked on interactive games. I do love how this game really is consequential and can move on if characters die. I also love the twist. I felt really closely connected to Shelby and really didn't want to believe he was capable of being that monstrous
AMEN!
Other companies who plan on doing decision based games should use Heavy Rain as a pointer.
Without myself looking at any comments, please, Mr. @CunningFox , post a spoiler tag to this thread, because if people can talk about "anything" about it here, than there are bound to be spoilers. (and, I'm out.)
There you go!
I never played Heavy Rain, but watched a playthrough on Youtube years ago. It's a really good game. I liked the guy with the high-tech glasses, Norman Jayden. The finger cutting scene still gets to me...
Absolutely love this game, the twist is unexpected and you actually feel bad for the killer.Plus you choices do matter, knowing your characters can die if you mess up really makes the fights intense, i was on the edge of my seat during that scene with the creepy doctor and when Jaydeen was in the car crusher.
As for what ending i got:
Ethan died at the very end because i (very stupidly) failed the QTE with the motorcycle and failed to warn him about the police.
I got the best ending for Madison (Apart from the one where he and Ethan end up together of course) i think it's the one where she writes the book.
Jaydeen managed to leave the drugs but the glasses made him watch VR stuff even when he didn't have them on
And Scott died in the fight against Jaydeen,
Even if Ethan died it was an strangely satisfying ending, maybe because Ethan died saving his son and proved he was willing to give his life for him, though quite frustrating at the same time because he was just a mere QTE from survivng the game.
I can't bare seeing Ethan die. That man is just so broken that I feel the need to always give him his best ending.
I couldnt stop thinking about the ending for a couple of days. But i like to think that Shaun would learn from all the good things his father did and with the guidance of his mother,Madison and Jaydeen he'd become a good person.
I liked Heavy Rain, I thought it was an excellent video game, and honestly I would love to see a sequel to it.
Playing this game several years later made me realize how kinda bad it was in several aspects. Also reminded me how we got shafted on the series of DLC's we were suppose to get but NEVER got. They could have gotten them for this rerelease but fuck that right?
Im in the process of getting the all endings trophy, the plot holes are getting more and more annoying each time they're thrust in my face, the most annoying for me at the moment is cleaning the prints in the shop lauren had her greasy mits on everthing but I only had to clean a few things. Actually the whole shop sequence annoys me.
I watched a lets play of the taxidermist dlc its a shame they didn't finish the dlc even though that episode added nothing to the plot at all.
I loved Heavy Rain and only had two problems with it:
