Are there any Half-Life fans on this forum?
Half-Life 2 is my favorite game ever. When I played and saw that bullshit cliffhanger in Half-Life 2: Episode Two, I was broken. It's been 8 years since the latest Half-Life game, and I still want Half-Life 3. Meanwhile, Valve is too busy making money off of TF2, CS:GO and Dota 2 
. Any other Half-Life fans on this forum?

Valve has no reason to make another half life game from a profit stand point, even if it's the best selling game in history it couldn't beat out their profit from TF2 CS:GO and Dota 2. It would still earn them a crap ton of money, just wouldn't be worth the time spent making it.

I would kill myself for Half-Life 3. Yes, I love it that much.
I used to love half life but after Half life episode 2's ending the franchise left a really sour taste in my mouth. I lost all hype for half life 3 like 6 years ago I don't really care if it gets made at this point.

Still, though. While it is sad, I have pretty much come to accept that there shan't be another Half-Life game.
No, I'd gladly do it voluntarily. I swear to god, if I had a choice between having Half-Life 3 and I die, but I live and Half-Life 3 won't be made, I would choose the former.
I personally find the Half Life franchise to be a tad overrated. I mean I love the first game, but too many people say it's the greatest video game of all time, which is frankly ludicrous. And the second Half Life was fantastic for it's time, but god has it aged poorly. In fact, I'd say that the final three or so hours are so forgettable and boring it's hard to even remember what the plot was toward the tail end of the game. And those two episodes were blah blah bland as hell.
I feel sorry for those Half Life fans who have to endure the longest wait in history.

They finally have Source 2 as well, so make Half-Life 3 then Portal 3.
I actually replayed Half-Life 2 a few months ago and attempted to play Half-Life but it kept crashing so that was that. But Half-Life 2 is definitely a good 6 on my top ten favourite games.
However I need me some Half-Life 3, Portal 3 and Left 4 Dead 3.
So when Valve gets their act together and finally learns some Primary school knowledge on numbers, maybe then the long wait will be over. Unfortunately that could take as long as, say... 50 years? So you know, waiting is fun...
I think L4D3 is the most likely of those to occur. The Portal games were great, but I feel like that story has been told. There's more they could do, but it's a complete narrative unlike HL. In comparison, the L4D series is rather cheap, easy and multiplayer friendly.

There are Half-Life fans everywhere I think, but we're just being silent as there's not much to say after all these years. HL was my first FPS game ever, and I grew up on this franchise so it is in a lot of ways nostalgic to me. It was the reason I got into the level design and later game modding, which I am grateful for. I am too lazy to tell this tale tho...
I do not like self-advertising, but if anyone is into Half-Life universe and looking for something related yet a bit different in its mechanics, I invite you to check out a project I am currently a part of called Resurgence. It is a game based on the HL universe but following its own story, with its own gameplay style (it is a mashup of newschool and oldschool shooters in many aspects)
Don't know if i'd call myself a fan but i definitely like the franchise
