Which game trailers do you think are better than the games themselves?

For example, I enjoy this trailers more than the games themselves to be honest:

  • The Dead Island announcement trailer is goddamn beautiful, it was so critically acclaimed that there was even going to be a movie based on the trailer and not the game itself. Shame the game didn't turn out nearly as good as the trailer did.

    Announcement trailer

  • That trailer made me cry TBH.

Honestly, I think MGSV's trailers made the story seem better than it actually was, and of course there are the scenes that were cut from the game.

Love how the 2013 tells us that what Snake and Kaz are doing isn't for the future, yet Snake tells Kaz to promise him that what they're doing is for the future. And of course there's the thing about how men become demons in Outer Heaven, and Snake calling himself a demon... he certainly is a demon. Sparing his enemies' lives, saving animals and wanting child soldiers to lead a normal life... what a demon.

  • SO much yes for walking dead amid no ruins trailer. To be honest I think all the trailers for that season were better than the episodes, maybe with the exception of No Going Back which I actually really liked.

  • Dragon Age: Origins, I love the game but the trailer is a lot more interesting than the game itself

  • That's what I thought. Trailers, soundtracks, slides etc. Better than the season itself.

  • Combat and graphics wise, yes, but I think this trailer massively underrepresents the skill of Dragon Age Origins' storytelling and complex morality.

  • Oh how could I forget this, it's several times worse than MGSV.

Nothing here is representitive of the actual game. Fucking Gearbox and their lies.

  • After many patches, a mod, and file tinkering, the PC version is pretty close. Still nothing like the original E3 trailer from a couple years before.

  • Yeah...honestly, if I only saw that trailer with no beforehand knowledge, I'd think Dragon Age is a MOBA or something.

  • It's kinda sad and pathetic, imo, when it's up to the fans to fix the developer's shit game. And really, Gearbox's lies, specifically Pitchford's lies just piss me off. I love how he says he'd never throw a team under the bus yet CM's actual dev, Timegate, closed thanks to CM. I honestly wonder if he's lying when he thinks CM is a good game, or if he's just delusional.

  • About the most demon thing he does isn't even in the game, with him leaving Eli to die by either the parasites or by getting napalm'd along with the rest of the child soldiers. I guess Kojima just wanted to be misleading with the game's marketing, like with MGS2.

  • Everything COD, Gears of War, Halo and Battlefield. coughs

And this... literally, utterly awful game, epic trailer personally though.

This... because we all know we will never feel as cool as the guy in this video when you play the game. lol

  • Pitchford is a piece of shit. Still. To the bitter end, denies the resource flux to Borderlands 2. It's not just that. He's the used car saleman of the video game world. I hate him more than EA.

Yeah, shifting the money Sega gave them to fund CM over to Borderlands 2 was truly a scumbag thing to do. Pitchford is the reason why I will never buy any of Gearbox's games again. At least not until he leaves the company. Seriously, he's such a disgusting piece of shit. I recently read this article regarding Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition's removal from Steam (and I think other platforms as well): http://techraptor.net/content/duke-nukem-dust-up-gearbox-vs-gobeille

Richard Gobeille is an independent games developer. Disabled and with a wife currently hospitalized by lupus, Gobeille relies on royalties from his games for a substantial portion of his family’s overall income. Recently that took a hit, when Gearbox ended its distribution relationship with publisher Devolver Digital and Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition was pulled from Steam. More than a month of Gobeille’s outstanding royalties, for use of his code in Megaton, were allegedly handed over to Gearbox in the process.

All of which would be perfectly legal, if Gobeille’s games were infringing upon Gearbox’s rights. Yet Gobeille has a licensing contract in hand, signed by 3D Realms’ Scott Miller, saying the opposite.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has since claimed that Gobeille was “hoodwinked by those guys… [w]e are both victims of the same culprit.” His position, as well as that of various other Gearbox representatives who’ve contacted Gobeille on the matter, is that Miller was never in any position of authority to cut such a contract. One even said “If you still believe his deal with you is valid then Gearbox can take that up with Scott Miller.”

    And look at this:

Unless this is out of date, Pitchford doesn't even have the right to do this, I think.
