Who do you honestly think runs the country?

I'll add my own thoughts later.

Assuming that you're talking about America, it would be The Senate.

I see where this is going to go and even though it IS The Senate, each Senator does have their own agendas, alliances, funders that influences their decisions beyond what they think is "right" for the country.

  • In American politics, The Senate.

Although money holds a lot of power in the Senate, it's still the Senate. They make the laws, they make most of the big decisions that shape how this country progresses. I know some people like to blame The President for that but all the President can do is allow or veto a law, as well as executive orders and some things with our military but in truth he doesn't have a lot of power.

  • Which country, this is a international forum after all...

  • The U.S. is like a ship where we nominally have a captain who is chosen by lot. He doesn't actually get to give orders though. He drives the ship and can choose which orders to follow or not follow. This ship is run by a selection of other passengers who don't actually control the ship but they get to give directions to the captain who can then choose to follow them or not. They also get to boss around the rest of the passengers, but luckily there are a few people chosen from the passengers who can say when the people giving orders have gone too far. The one trick to this ship is that even though orders are being given and received and followed and everything. NOBODY KNOWS WHERE THE SHIP IS GOING!

  • On the outside, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the President.

On the inside, a secret organization tied to the political elite and Federal Reserve.

  • O-Obama of course, who-who else could possibly be ?

I think we would be better off if that was the case, but honestly I think it's something far far worse. They actually cared about the happiness of the citizen as it allowed them to keep control of the majority of the population turning a country that not even half the population supported them to having around a 80%+ approval rating in less than 10 years. I think one women was interviewed saying "Well you had to take the good with the bad." To justify her support of them.

From what I noticed politicians in the USA seem to care little about making the citizen happy. They only care about making their interest happy. Then just BS the rest of the population saying the other guy is worse then them so vote for us. etc etc.

  • Not far fetched. I read an Article were Kennedy signed an executive order that gave the rights to print money back to the Treasury not the Federal Reserve. After his death Lyndon Johnson used an executive order reversing it. Theory of course.

People claim this is why he died. Why his younger brother also died trying to take his place, and his older brother almost died doing the same. This was the very last speech he made before he died.

  • If a mouse farted in a corn field, it is obviously Obama's fault. Personally "It's Obama's Fault" claims have really gotten old fast personally.

O-Obama of course, who-who else could possibly be ?

  • I would say something smart or intriguing here, but here is a gif that can perfectly explain it!

  • Ya but it's the first thing that came to my mind when you implied Obama controls the country. =D

  • I have a feeling he used hair dye in order to have a more youthful appearance. Not saying it isn't a stressful job, but still.

  • It is a very stressful job. Look at the increased number of wrinkles under the eyes for example. Nearly every single president looked as though they aged 10-20+ years during their 4-8 year terms. If you've not noticed, he still has gray hair on the first photo. If he dyed it, he sucks at dying. The amount of face sagging makes him look a bit like a zombie on the 2014 photo.

Like how WWII is considerably more gray then we are tough because special interest want it to be that way.

    Quote by Churchill.
"The war wasnt only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn't want to." - Winston Churchill 1946

  • Oh yes, reddit. sarcasm

That being said. They really don't prove it is true or not on that reddit page, being it was part of a conversation between Churchill and Truman supposedly. That being said, he said she said arguments never hold much water. So it would have to be left at that. I've just seen it posted a number of times over the years. I have it on a long list of quotes I've copied/pasted from the internet. lol

  • Most presidents show signs of aging as a result of the stress of their job, not only from the US, it happens in every country.

At this point? Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

  • Unfortunately, you're quite right at the moment. Hopefully my state votes her out this year.
