How many of you are sick and tired of hearing about politics?
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I'm so fed up with hearing about politics, and tired about hearing the politicians.
I'm sick and tired of not only politics and politicians, but I'm also sick of the whole daffy-duck way the government is run. It's run by a bunch of selfish people who are more interested in keeping their jobs, instead of actually doing their jobs.
They don't care about any of us. They don't actually care about helping anybody, they're only interested in what they can get for themselves. And the worst part about is, is that these mother-fuckers come right from among us.
In the words of the late George Carlin: "Everone complains about politicians, everyone says they suck. Well where do people think these politicians come from?
They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come form American homes, American churches, American businesses, and their elected by American citizens.
This is the best we can do, folks! This what we have to offer, it's what our system produces - garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're gonna have selfish ignorant leaders.
And the term limits ain't gonna do you any good, as you're just gonna end up with another batch of selfish ignorant leaders.
So maybe, it's not the politicians who suck? Maybe something else sucks around here - like the public?
Because if it is really just the fault of all these politicians, than where all the other bright people of conscience? Where are all the good, decent, honest people who are willing to step in to save the nation, and lead the way?"
The point is, I HATE it when election time rolls around. I hate hearing about all the political bullshit that is constantly thrown in our faces - telling us to vote for this person, or vote for that person. Telling us about the failed policies that one person introduced and how it screwed everything up, and they're gonna fix everything.
To me it's just a big stupid game!

aye.
It gets tiresome when I don't know what anyone is talking about. :I
I still don't know what a GOP really is, for example.
Politics are shit, and I'm tired of Dolan Temp, he needs to kill himself for real, like with drinking bleach or something, because he's still gonna be stupid, fat and ugly
I can't bloody understand anything, politics are just horribly boring to me, I have no idea why people here are so into it.
If you're sick about hearing about politics, you might want to stop creating so many political threads...
Besides, politics is very rarely about getting good people into power, it's about getting those in power to good things. Electoral politics are seen as everything, but they really should be a small part of the equation - local organization, protests, strikes, etc., but few people are willing to take the risk anymore. So yes, when it comes to the problem being less the politicians and more the people, I completely agree.
GOP stands for Grand Old Party, another name for the Republican Party
... If you hate politics so much then why do you keep bringing it up then?
Three possibilities:
Or a combination of all three. A masochistic love/hate relationship because why not?
I am. It's all anyone talks about anymore.
Politics are the reason this world is so divided, so yeah, I hate it with passion!
Depends on the particular topic.
I could happily discuss workers rights, criminal justice reform and local activism until I turn blue. I generally have less patience for identity politics unless there's a tangible struggle involved and not just vague complaints of inequality or the usual SJW vs. Alternative Right keyboard wars. For instance, I'm a staunch opponent of police brutality, but I couldn't give fewer damns about the OscarsSoWhite fiasco.
As for electoral politics, I agree it's an ugly (and often crooked) spectacle, especially on the national level. However, state and local politics are extremely important IMO.
Congratulations. You just described my most recent long-term relationship.
Probably less than percent of those "political" people actually actively try to take an action.
Arguing over the internet is easier than actually trying to get into a position of power and then affect things.
But what do I know, I'm one of those who tend to post something and my actual involvement in the politics is limited to my right to vote.
Eh, I just got sick of politics. Hell, I don't even understand shit when someone talks about them.
Thank you! And the reason I created this is because every time turn on the TV nowadays, I always end up seeing some sort of political add, and it drives me beserk!
;(
I'm not, I'm tired of some of the people in politics, as you said politicians, but not politics. Politics is necessary for everything we have, sadly we've twisted and corrupted that necessity.
