Anyway, in politics when people get pushed over the edge they start to tell what they really think instead of what they "pretend" to think. If that makes any sense. What I mean that other contestants don't really like Donald Trump that much and a very few actually publicly tell you about it.
During "contest" people tend to be more "sugar-coating" other contestants. Telling how great they are and how they don't hate them, etc.

It would not have mattered had he stayed in the race. The numbers are overwhelmingly against him.
Either way, Trump is the sole candidate for the GOP.
During the time of Lincoln they stood for completely different things. Regan was nothing more than a tool, a Movie Star with Cooperate Business men and bankers holding the leash. He's taken credit for the end of the USSR when the USSR was likely already going down hill long before he even took office.
Doesn't mean he will win either. Delegates can still choose someone else at the convention if they wish, even if it might mean they're committing political suicide doing it. The entire point of the race leading up to the Conventions is to see who will likely garner the most support and be likely the most successful when running, it doesn't mean they win automatically. This happened with Truman on his re-election bid. Most democrats didn't want him as he became president just because FDR died not because anyone actually wanted him as President. So leading up to the convention popular support was for another man, but the delegates supported Truman which caused a massive rift. This rift also caused people to predict that Truman didn't stand a chance in heck at winning the general election which ended up not being the story either. Truman pulled off two shocks in the span of a year. lol
