Anyone here do sports?
Apologies if this topic already exists, but if it does, it doesn't seem to be recent.
Anyway, with that being said, I'm wondering how many of you have played sports, are currently playing sports, what it is and what are your thoughts on it? I'm from Massachusetts, so it might as well be a state law that everyone here does sports. Personally, I'm god awful at them, so I signed up for MMA or more specifically speaking, Jiu Jitsu, which I do on Mondays and Thursdays/Fridays. I love my team, but I am always screwing up some part of my body. God, is it exhausting!
What about the rest of you?

I used to do karate, if that counts.
I'd like to think it totally counts.
I used to do Aikido.
Martial Arts most definitely counts, and it's the coolest.
Swimming but that's about it.
Used to play baseball, played it my whole life up until a few months ago. I also play golf, and now that I no longer play baseball, I've been doing a lot more of that lately, which has been nice.
I also used to bowl, play basketball, and ski.
I'm a professional mini golf player, arm wrestler and always won gold in school and outside for hurdles
They have professional mini golf players? Whoa.
I'm a varsity Cross Country runner.
Skateboarding : It was fun. Still occasionally do it.
Karate : Learned how to properly defend myself against bullying that (thankfully) never really happened.
Football : A couple years in junior high. I was fairly small and a defensive end (too blind to be anywhere but the line), so I got my bell rung more than I care to think about, given the recent revelations about the sport's health effects.
Cross Country : Did it throughout high school. Fun, but difficulty following the course was really frustrating and embarrassing. Quit in junior year after an argument with the coach about it. Still run on my own time.
Quizbowl : Not a physical sport, but I routinely cleaned house. District MVP, my first year, and I wasn't even a Captain.
Model UN : Shut up, it totally counts. Go Team Iran!
Used to play tennis and badminton quite a bit. I also used to swim.
I tried pretty much everything, but I only seriously played hockey. I think it's pretty mandatory here. Any potential career was cut short by a knee injury that comes back now and then. Now I'm one step above(I am employed) being a cancer on society.
I've done cross country for the past two years, but I don't know about my junior year. I like the practices and running, but I despise the meets and anything competitive.
I used to be part of a Baseball Team when I was around 8-10 xd
Don't suppose there are adult T-ball leagues around. Who am I kidding, baseball is 90% running skill and I don't have that.
(Seriously though. If people didn't know, guess what even pro tryouts do? Sprinting. Lots and lots of sprinting.)
I am not currently in a sport but in the past I have done wrestling and track
Same.
I play soccer, Gaa football and boxing
Sport taught me the value of winning, how to deal with loss and rebuild stronger, Deal with anxiety and hard challenges in positive way.
Anything of value i learned from sport
Without it to me life is impossible i love it I hope it gets encouraged to do more
Back in the day I did cross country, though I honestly hated it and still dislike anything distance running related. I sort of regret not having done football instead, as that is something that I think that I could have been decent at. I was also a sprinter in track and field for three years, which I did enjoy. It's nice not having to run more than one lap around the track for competition. Any more than that is too much for me haha.
I don't think so, T-Ball seems to mostly be a simple introduction to Baseball and other ball games, although I enjoyed it. I'm not much of a runner now xD but if I'm scared or angry, I run quite fast to my own surprise
Haha. I can't run at all. I'm in good shape but I was born with stubby legs. I wasn't very good at baseball when I was young so my joke was pretty much with myself. I have amazing hand-eye though, so all I have are dreams of what could have been if things were different. Pretty sure I could kick ass sober in a beer league though. Yay for high goals.
Yuss #HighGoals lol but it's good you've got amazing hand-eye coordination, I probably have below average hand-eye xD I doubt I'd be able to hit a large sack of sand in front of me without having to try again once I guess it's a trade off? You gain something, you lose something but at least life is kind enough to let you develop what you lack to a certain extent
