The jock type is more complex than 'character who wears a sports jersey'. In terms of personality I'd say Mike is easily more of the jock type than Matt.
I personally liked all the characters including Mike(my personal favorite is Emily though) but he did have irrational and stupid moments but that's not to say the other characters were perfectly rational and geniuses throughout. I think the biggest factor here is that you can potentially make Mike a more or less like-able person based on your decisions.

I know josh isnt really a psychopath and is messed up (I like the character) but people who excuse him for everything he does just seems bizarre.

Legally, insanity implies mental illness that causes one to fail to distinguish fantasy from reality, to be unable to operate due to psycosis, and/or act uncontrollably on impulse. Both groups can think clearly, know precisely what is fantasy and what is not, and - while questionable in their actions - can deliberate and act accordingly. If they cannot, they have another seperate mental condition atop.

Josh was crazy before the prank, I dont know what im missing but I didnt notice the sunbeams coming out of his ass that some people clearly liked so much.
The writing wasn't good enough to still be analysing all this time later, the cast was cookie cutter.
