I actually like it, I think the story is ok, the only problem I ever really had were some of the quick time events but that was on Xbox 360 so idk about the Computer.

  • On computer, the QTEs are a bitch. I press the button, yet nothing happens. IDK why.

  • Its decent. Not as terrible as people are making it sound. If you like Telltale's games as of right now it might be something you'll enjoy.

  • It's basically a prototypical Walking Dead with more elaborate QTEs, no choice making, and no direct player control. The production qualities are not as high in some areas since this game was before Walking Dead as well.

Yeah. Really, the reason us ancient folks have such hate was because of the timing(and some misconception that I won't discuss. We really should be over that by now). So Sam & Max 3 came out. Some of us didn't like how it went in a more controller friendly direction(decent summation), but it was still at least decent by our standards. Skip a few smaller PC games and console stuff. Back to the Future came out next. It was back to more of a traditional P+C style, but the puzzles were much easier. It had a mixed reaction amongst the old fans for that reason. Jurassic Park then launched. A game that really took the P+C style and threw it out the window, backed over it with it's car, and sold it's children.

It was a real shock when it came out. With the titles and gameplay TTG have now, it's really not THAT far gone. Take their modern games, remove the illusion of choice, and stick in some Tomb Raider reboot-esk QTEs. Ta da.

Psst. There's a great fail death near the end if you stick around(or just look up a montage on youtube, it WILL be there). It involves missing a freight jump.

  • I'll also add this - Unlike modern Telltale games, most if not all QTE failures actually punish you with a death scene. You still resume shortly before the QTE, but it's not like the modern games where some other event will happen that coincidentally continues the story for several of the QTEs.

  • Don't be deterred though. The deaths are the best part of the game.

  • PC controls for QTEs are shit.

  • Its okay, it looks pretty shoddy, choice matters even less than normal and the characters are a bit lame, however the story is okay and the death scenes are funny

  • Yeah, they're terrible.

  • It's okay. Not overly terrible. The story and some of the characters help, as well as the dinosaurs (love a certain one in Episode 4), which have great designs I think. If you're a Jurassic Park superfan like me, you'll enjoy it. It's nice seeing some other areas of the park as well.

  • Why do I always hear a girl screamming during these deaths? It's definetly not Jess.

    They are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98mePT_IDp0

  • Ok after playing episode 1 certain questions about the intelligence of the characters comes up. Hey let's pull that jeep off a hill and hope there are no accidents. Oh look the lights are off on the fence....all of them must have burned out at the same time, it's all good.

But it is the qte events, I can only assume someone on the programming team was going through a nasty divorce and was hating all of humanity.

The deaths are fun though. Especially when you fall down the cliff and miss almost all the qte prompts. Homer woulda been proud.

Oddly enough, the "freight jump" I was referring to wasn't there. It was one that... let's say some people might cringe to more than others. It was funny that the dev team knew EXACTLY which one I was talking about when I brought it up in a discussion. Someone did the body positioning totally on purpose.

  • It's not as terrible as everyone make it seem. It's probably the worst Telltale game I played, sure, but it's not that bad. Just expect a lot of quick time events and hilarious death scenes. :P

  • From a gameplay perspective, worse than modern Telltale games, which says something. Shitty QTEs and very limited controls.

From a story standpoint, it's decent enough. Not great, but not even half as bad as people make it out to be.

  • I'd definitely have finished it by now if the QTEs weren't total shit.

  • The story's a lot better than expected actually. I got a bit of a walking dead vibe after a certain episode ending. There are quite a few cringe worthy moments though.
