It's not wise to compare lethal diseases with one another, however I do understand that the media sometimes causes panic (sometimes unwillingly). By the way, zika has many transmission methods, not just by saliva or sexual contact. It's widely known for being carried by certain mosquitoes.
Zika started years ago, it's not like it's a new disease. It's already spreading really fast these last months, just look at the maps the CDC published, you can compare start 2016 and near end of 2016, lots of reports that it's also in Europe, but not "active transmission", as CDC likes to call it. I live in Europe and there have been some cases in my country. I'm sure they isolated them or something.
