I remember reading a news article about how a women had killed a boy with her car (also injuring two of his friends), proceeded to then sue their families for psychological trauma for 1.3 million dollars.

That the Titanic was actually the Olympic and the sinking was an insurance scam gone wrong. sighs It's complicated but I cross referenced the claims and they can't even get the difference between the two ships even remotely right.

That Apollo 11 never landed on the Moon. I'd believe it, if only we didn't land on the moon multiple times following. But logic often helps debunk most conspiracy claims.

FEMA Concentration Camps being constructed out of emptied Wal-Marts. I know a few people at work who actually believe this. They even claim the local Fed-Ex depo which installed razor wire/electric fences despite 2/3s of the ground is nothing but open field is also a FEMA Concentration Camp location just pre-built for future use. lol

UN Planned Occupation of the USA just because someone found some vehicles on an Army Base with UN painted on them. Completely ignoring that the United States is a member of the UN Security council and actually owns vehicles with UN Logos on them. sighs again

List goes on and on. I know there are some things I believe that some people may think Loony, but the stuff above is just insane. Logic helps debunk most of it. Our local Fed-Ex suffered extensive theft from their warehouse for example. So they added razor wire on top of their fences and then added 3 strands of electrified fences just behind that just in case someone still made it over, just for example.

Side note on the fences. It's perfectly legal for a business to take a deadly property protection measures, but a person can not set a Coon trap in their flower bed to stop a peeping tom in Illinois. Backwards logic yes? hehe

Well, a few of the gay guys in the high school I went to used to wear skin tight leather chaps and vests, and wear makeup. They definitely looked gay.

  • Apparently if you dress in the style of the opposite gender you are gay. So going by horrible stereotypes cut your hair short and go outside with a tank top, not that I'd wear that.

    Yes.

In seriousness, when you had those things on you probably looked gay. Clothes like that are generally only worn by hair bands in the 80's looking to sell albums to teenage girls, and by gay people.

I can't say I haven't worn anything similar in my life at least once. Am I gay now?

  • "Looked" gay. I still can't comprehend that, appearance doesn't have anything to do with sexuality. Just because hair bands in the 80's generally wore these specific clothes and apparently targeted gay people as an audience doesn't mean crap.

Guys wearing makeup does not make them look gay, it makes them look like guys with makeup, you can't call it anything else.

The music that hair bands wrote was specifically for that target audience. The clothes were part of their stage personas, which were new, flashy, and eye catching, helping them sell. I also never said that straight guys can't wear these clothes, nor did I say that they couldn't wear them when trying to impress girls. It just makes them look a bit queer.

Just saying you're seeing this from a woman's perspective, not that it's a bad thing. Just as a guy, we have our own 'stereotypes' as such. The dude in the photo looks 100% gay, whether he is or not is another question.
It's not even really a stereotype, just reality, straight guys usually don't wear makeup or flashy clothes like that. Gays tend to more...and it's entirely true. Nothing bad with it, just different groups of people tend to edge towards different types of fashions.

That's looking in a certain way that people erroneously conflate with 'looking gay'.

The vast majority of gay people don't dress like that, you only notice gay people on the streets if they do. Therefore they're not 'dressing gay' - you're making weird conclusions about people based on their appearance.

I must say I'm disappointed in you for criticisng feminism, saying that it judges men too harshly, then you judge men for their clothing.

Well, a few of the gay guys in the high school I went to used to wear skin tight leather chaps and vests, and wear makeup. They definitely looked gay.

I just don't understand this. The vast majority of gay people don't look like that. If they did, then he'd look gay, but I don't understand how he does.

It's entirely true? Do you have statistics showing this?

Again a reminder that you're working from a biased pool. The vast majority of gay people you see on the street, you can't tell if they're gay. Then if you see a man with makeup, you conclude that he is.

It's a bit like the whole vegan thing. People say 'vegans always tell you they're vegan' - but you can't know if someone's vegan unless they tell you in some capacity.

Didn't say that, but a gay man is more likely to wear makeup.

I never concluded anything. It's just a general assumption, and majority of the times it's true. Not really rocket science so i'm not going to argue. Vegans are different because you can't physically see a vegan without you reading their mind or them saying something.
Trust me, as a male, as a man who has lived his whole life around male guys, straight, gay and bi...straight guys tend to not wear makeup. Ever.
Why do you think they have festivals like Mardi Gras? There's nothing wrong with saying gays are more attuned to flashy clothes, skinny jeans, makeup etc. Because from what we see in society it's true. You're telling me this like you think i'm being homophobic or something, not at all. I couldn't give a damn what people wear...but you can tell a lot from a person by what THEY DO wear. I'm simply making an observation.

Nah, while that is pretty dumb, it's certainly not the most moronic thing I've ever heard someone say. No, the dumbest, most arrogant, pig headed and thick skulled thing I've ever head anyone say was a group of things actually. I was in an argument on Facebook with an idiot named "Steven Summers", who clearly didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, and he knew what the word opinion meant even less. Not only were his opinions so mind numbingly stupid that only a child would have them, but he also treated them all as factual information, and attacked anyone who disagreed. If you don't know who he is, which I doubt you don't if you like Gamnesia on Facebook, he is a man who publicly attacks Nintendo and Sony fans, waving his opinion as fact, and if said fan chooses to ignore him in the comments, he sends reluctant messages to that fan. And the best part is, if you come up with a calm and reasonable argument (Which is hard because he is an annoying piece of shit), he calls you out for "Giving him nothing but a whiny Nintendo fanboy rant". Arrogance is the purest and most fucking aggravating form of idiocy, and he's the king of it.

  • LeafyIsHere is somewhat tolerable to me, but Keemstar needs to die in a pit, like, the most brutal kind of death. I hate him and that fucking DramaAlert bullshit show he does, and then he starts all these fake claims about how "Markiplier is mourning over Daniel's death for attention", "Yamimash is a rapist", and other kinds of bullshit. I mean I don't even like Mark or Yami half the time but that is fucking unnacceptable. His existence is a joke.
