Well I have finished both Point Lookout (MY FAVE) and The Pitt.
Like before with the main story I continued to develop my character's personality and boy did he hit such a low point in his life in terms of sanity. Point Lookout basically brought out some of the worst of my character in which he's becoming a little more sociopathic now. Seeing the messed up shit from the cannibals and tribesmen, little to no people to trust in the swamps, it's hardened him further where he didn't feel much sympathy to those who just flat out piss him off. With the main plot of PL, Desmond the ghoul increasingly annoyed my character by acting like he's his pawn and treating him like trash. Some point my character, Carl, eventually was giving death glares to Desmond. When Carl learns about the brain and the ghoul are fighting over pettiness and both trying to use him, he had enough. After killing the brain, when Desmond had his back turned he blew all of his limbs and head off out of pure frustration. That's not the end of PL, when Carl discovered that the original boat captain was the one that gave Carl a lobotomy when unconscious, I had my character shoot the magnum out of his hands then use the ripper blade to shred his head off. I think I reached Kirkman's level of brutality. heh
Between PL and TP, I did some quests involving Project Purity. Since Carl was close to his father, I thought it make sense that he'd get involved with any issues related to it and handle the sources of the problem either through negotiation or with guns.
Finally comes The Pitt arc. Meeting with a slave named Werhner, Carl found something off that he was holding back from him. Regardless, Carl offered help being a sworn enemy to the slavers (having destroyed Paradise Falls and eliminating the remnants at the Lincoln Memorial). Using smarts and patience, he managed to get close to the boss and cure. However upon learning that the cure to the Troggs problem was an infant to the boss and his wife, he finds himself at a great moral dilemma (more so for me outside the game. One of hardest choices ever in any video game I played). Being an orphan, his parents taken away from him. He finds it hard to stomach for what he decides to do next. Carl takes the baby, and had a slight scuffle with the mother in which he unintentially killed her. Making his way through to Midea, a slave, and then to Werhner, he gives the baby but expresses frustration over what he discovered to both of them. The boss Ashur and Carl later makes a final stand where Carl allows Ashur to be killed by the Troggs. Soon enough the rebellion was over, wanting nothing left of the Pitt Carl leaves it forever.
In my headcanon I decided to make Carl go through a more depressed state, the stress of the world finally wearing him down. So I'm having Carl given up his adventure days, sitting in his house at Megaton with Dogmeat. Drinking booze, walking around with Dogmeat, and sleeping in the house most of the day. At least for now.
I'll conclude my character arc for sometime later on. I thought up an original story idea for his last days. Looking forward to sharing it.
Thanks! It makes the experience so much more exciting for me! I'm gonna do the same with my other characters in NV (replaying on PS3 eventually. Clean Slate) and some day for FO4 (which also will have an original conclusion, I imagined it and it's a tear jerker!).
I'm curious; is Mothership Zeta dlc for FO3 canon? It seems to screw with a lot of the lore. I'm having fun with it but I'm having doubts about the story's credibility.

Yeah, I believe so. Due to zetans existing in this world (Fallout 4 and NV)
But just canon to the Lone Wanderer, unless the alien pop up in fallout 4 in future dlc
I believe ya. It was just a little disappointing for me since I thought and wanted Fallout to be a game not heavily associated with aliens since the story and themes were about war and humanity.
Digging into the info, I see it doesn't affect it that much so I can deal with that.
So continuing my FO3 character's story, we left off with Carl in a depressed state (note this post will be a mix of both the original game and my headcanon for my character, I'll highlight the headcanon parts).
During the 3 weeks he would get into a bar fight with Moriarty, who continues to lie through his teeth to him. So Carl would beat him up and then get kicked out of the bar. This causes the rest of the town to be wary of Carl. However, at the end of the third week, a familiar face knocks on his door. Amata. She tells him that the Vault is now doing better and has began trading with settlers, she found him after hearing rumors of him getting in a bar fight. Carl explains everything that has happened to himself to her which prompts her to spend time with him during her spare times from her role as Overseer. With the help of Amata, Carl slowly recovers from his trauma as well as fix the troubles between them. About a month later, Carl is finally back to going in adventures, scrounging supplies for Vault 101, mostly for Amata's sake.
Now begins Mothership Zeta. On one of the supply runs, Carl stumbles upon a wrecked aircraft of sorts, while investigating it he was abducted. Not really much happened to change his character while aboard the ship. Just an increasing hatred against the Zetans. He did grow a trusting attachment though being with a kid name Sally, he was cautious of letting into dangerous conditions but still allowed her to help him out throughout the ship. He tried to free any captive outside the age old humans with him, however he soon didn't care for much for saving any more after several attempted rescues ended with getting him shot at. Even with all the abominations in his face, he felt fearless and numbed to all the battles, just wanting to get off the ship and looting whatever he can take with him.
Sometime later after returning to the surface, on one of his runs he had received a radio broadcast by the Outcasts. Intrigued for any possibly loot to gather, I had Carl quickly head to the rendezvous. Now begins Operation Anchorage. My character felt a little reluctant to go into a simulation honestly considering what happened in that one vault, but with a deal of possibly the best loot he can get, how can he turn back on this. At first, he couldn't take the simulation serious since he knows it's just fake, but soon he found it quite a lesson learner in the manner of tactics. Battling General Jingwei in the Chinese Base was possibly the most difficult fight he's ever had, but with stubbornness he managed to destroy him with a power fist. Completing the simulation, Carl (and me) gladly grabbed what we could inside the locked room. However, unexpectedly we were ambushed by traitors of the Outcasts. I quickly hopped in the Power Armor, took out the Gauss Rifle! The Outcasts were flying into the walls as Carl just sweeped them clean with barely getting demolished, completely clearing out the entire outpost. With all the loot, Carl proudly (and slightly angrily after the betrayal) left the outpost and returned to Megaton and the Vault.
Now the rest here is headcanon, I want to give my character as much of a conclusion as possible.
Months later, Carl relaxes on the deck of his home with Dogmeat. Things are finally calm for him, having resorted issues with the town and himself, and having the Vault now in great condition for the outside after doing supply runs and training the Vault Dwellers. However, crowds gather at the gate, Carl checks it out only to find Susie Mack bleeding out outside the gates. Hearing her last words, Carl discovers the Vault had been attacked by a large group of Raiders. Carl returns to the Vault in his T-51B power armor, slaying the Raiders in a massacre which brought heavy losses on both sides. Only Amata from the Vault survived after the generators were destroyed in the battle and all her companions dead. Carl takes the distraught Amata in to his home, who feels as if she failed the entire Vault. Amata finds herself lost, but Carl reassures her that even with such losses, living on is the only way for it not to be a failure that is in vain. From that day on, Carl has Amata with live with him. Supporting her, teaching her how to survive in the wastes in its entirety (which sometimes bother Amata in how brutal Carl can truly be, remembering how gentle he was in the beginning. Carl is also reluctant about taking her out to wasteland but she insists on learning), living on in a life that's tolerable.
For several weeks, they would travel together. As if they were inseparable given what they've both lost. Amata would meet the Brotherhood and Fawkes (who at first frightened her but became close friends easily). Things to seemed to be going well. One day as Carl, Dogmeat, Fawkes and Amata were out hunting Mirelurks, Carl and Amata on the other end of the shore discussed about everything that happened, talking about how happy they are to still get to hang out, kinda like kids. For a moment, Amata can see the gentle side of Carl as they spoke. After their conversation, Carl had temporarily left to check on Dogmeat and Fawkes in a distance when Amata was soon confronted by three Enclave remnants searching for Vault 101. She explains to them that it's gone, trusting them to be friendly. They soon turned hostile on her however, shooting her just as Carl and Dogmeat comes back leaving Fawkes to take care of some Mirelurks. Carl and Dogmeat witnesses it and Fawkes hears the gun fire and Carl's scream. Carl in a rage attacks them with the Backwater Rifle with Dogmeat and Fawkes going on the offensive, together they kill all the Enclave remnants. He quickly runs to the bleeding Amata, breaking down in grief as he hold her in his arms as she yelps in pain. Carl asks her not to leave him but Amata soon succumbs to her wound, bleeding out, she dies in his arms. Carl cries with grief and frustration, calling out to her as Dogmeat paces in concern and Fawkes looking on with a look of sadness. Upon returning to the Vault 101, he buries Amata on the cliff. Paying his respects with Dogmeat and Fawkes by his side, saying goodbye to her for the last time.
And that's possibly the final to my Lone Wanderer's story. I have come up with a extra story part in which he is much older, about 16 years later but I'm uncertain if any wants me to tell the story since no more of the original Fallout 3 plotlines will be on it. It's about Slaver King Ashur's child Marie searching for the Lone Wanderer. So if you like me to post that story sometime later on, lemme know. This game was a great experience (besides the buggy crashes that happen) and is the first Bethesda game that I played more than Skyrim. Hope you all enjoyed my roleplay with my character, see you next time!
yeah but there's only a 2GB capacity on mods, and what they want to do won't leave much room for other mods. This will also come with achievements, personally I prefer the dlc for this, mods make the game fun but it feels like cheating most of the time. That's why I wanted all the achievements before I put mods on
Still... I don't think they are worth buying, to be honest.
Actually, none DLC like that is worth buying anyway.
And yeah, as you said... hopefully there'll be a massive DLC after those 3 DLCs are done.

Oh, oh no! Those poor babies...

The way you roleplay your character impresses me. Well done!

Kinda how I feel about that rn lol
ah glitches
For a fallout 3 character I managed to make a decent character.
Plus, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!
I believe ya. It was just a little disappointing for me since I thought and wanted Fallout to be a game not heavily associated with aliens since the story and themes were about war and humanity.

Oblivion was worse. Trust me.
Oblivion were potato people

Excuse my ignorance, but is there going to be anything about fallout 4 at e3?
The only thing I can imagine is future DLC
XD Build Your own Vault dlc coming and I'm just like "There are mods for that already" lol
I didn't get to see the E3 presentation. Did they reveal something?

Ugh... Really, Bethesda? 2 more Workshop DLCs? :I
At least we'll be getting Nuka-World DLC, thank god.
I think these are filler till a massive DLC
Anyone else like blowing up all the cars?

Still... I don't think they are worth buying, to be honest.

Already got season pass so I'm good, and I got it for £30 haha
