State of Decay is a cool concept, but it runs like absolute dog shit, on my PC at least. Lowest possible setting and it still runs at what feels like 10 FPS. But I know that it is a very good game if it works properly.
There is a new sandbox survival called 7 days to die. It is currently in alpha, however Telltale games purchased console rights and is releasing JUNE 28TH I believe. I stumbled across your post as I was trying to find an official community forum for the game.

Yeah, State of Decay for the win! I'd also like to add:
It's a pretty cool winter survival game, randomly spawning items in a large world with different areas. But some of the new features are evil (such as cabin fever)

I had problems like that too at first. In the game's graphic settings, did you switch Vsync to 'off'? I did and it helped make everything run much smoother.

Edit: At E3 2016, a successor was announced.

Obviously there are, considering the genre is polluted with games. I hear ARK is pretty good.
I mean, Minecraft technically counts, right?
Minecraft and Roblox.
Don't Starve is pretty fun.
I thought these two games were good survival sandbox games:

Funny thing, after writing that comment, I got curious and tried the game again after quite some time, it worked better now.
State of decay, State of decay 2 was announced at E3
Hey guys, is Subnautica or The Stomping Land any good?
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I have decided to buy:
If I had an XBox or a gamepad, I would also buy State of Decay.
