I'm at the point where I can only take one feminist, the "Factual Feminist" seriously because the aggression of the majority of others. I found myself agree with friends and colleagues that people by now prefer to call themselves "Equalist" instead "Feminist" to distance themselves from the extremes. At least that's the word used in German and Hungarian.
Funny because I was just talking with my coworkers about feminism today at lunch. It makes me the life of the party...

To pre-empt the discussion, I really think a lot of these anti-feminists who cling to 'sexual dimorphism' as explaining everything, are entirely hypocritical - whenever it is to the disadvantage to women (IE income) it's biology, whenever it's disadvantageous to men, it's the evil feminazis (IE educational attainment).
I didn't like the questions were phrased, such as "Should women be cherished by men?" because, I think they should, but at the same time, men should be cherished by women (we should all be cherished!)

I disagree with you somewhat. Women can just as much be aggressive and competitive as men can be, often even more so. Same with IQ. Some of my former bosses (3 women) were a good example for all these traits. One was actually very highly aggressive and may have needed serious anger management treatments.
At the same time physically most men are really performing better. But in the digital age where you also got tanks and planes and whatnot as war assets that matters less and less because wars are just not fought anymore in plate mails and with swords.
Sure. Women are more compassionate, more nurturing, less aggressive (stemming from less competitive, so pros and cons), more empathetic, and… more a plethora of other mores and lesses.
Plus, their sandwich making skills are on point.
EDIT: And since we mentioned men comprising the majority of high IQ groups it should also be said that women comprise the minority of low IQ groups.

I summed up my own opinion on it by gathering 4 youtube comments on the issue (which I guess no one bothered to see) just yesterday myself. Yes it is an absurdity of our modern time that if you disagree with something you must suddenly be something like a sexist/racist/gamer/alien

Does writing in larger fonts make you more right or at least feel better?
and yes, we did talk about groups, and you have a right to think your opinion is absolutely true just as I have a right to consider mine correct
Yup, I give you that. That question goes both ways.
But the "women infulence men to get ahead" (there was a question like that), was more or less aimed at men. I mean, what will a women say to that?
Also, the fact that it treats the two sexes as homogenic blocks is just not right. Also, why can't I say "some do, some don't". Agree/disagree is not a good way to do a test like this. Or at least there should be a "Pass" or, "I neither agree or disagree" option.
So, for me this test felt like a trap, and I could not express my opinion like how I wanted to.
Are you serious? They had questions like how men should sacrifice for the women in their lives and other questions like that, which perpetua… morel sexual stereotypes about both men and women, so called 'male disposibility' while also feeding into the notion that women are week.
No, it deals with both levels of sexism. Maybe the high score comes from dismissing anything that deals with gender inequality as 'tumblr feminism.'

the way I see it, if you see distinction between the genders, it doesn't make you a sexist. Just like if you see and acknowledge skin color … moreand different races, it doesn't make you a racist. Or if you are perhaps against a particular denomination, that does not make you anti religion. Or if maybe accept homosexuality, but don't celebrate it, it doesn't make you a homophobe.
Or if you are against anti-abortion, it doesn't make you against women's rights. Rather you simply are acknowledging that the child in question has the same right to live as anyone else.
You know this is supposed to be the age of Tolerance, and yet people are more intolerant now than they ever have been in human history. It seems like almost every time you turn around, somebody somewhere is upset about something. And it oftentimes turns out to be something that is really not worth getting upset about.
I have not taken the quiz yet, but how goddamn stupid can people get. The quiz will call you a hostile sexist if you discriminate women—and I agree with calling you out on that, as long as the questions make sense—but they will not even address the fact that sexism, by definition, is directed to both sexes, not just the female sex. But discrimination and generalization is okay when it is towards men, because fuck those patriarchal pigs!

I am so progressive compared to everyone else. Suck it, patriarchy!
In all seriousness, the problem with this quiz is that it's too general. Most times I was simply choosing 'slightly agree/disagree' simply because a lot of these are true/untrue in SOME circumstances, but not all. Not only that, but every statement is extremely vague and doesn't actually ask why one chose the answers they did. This is simply not a good way of addressing sexism in today's world. Instead of making vague statements that can be taken either way, we need to address SPECIFIC gender issues in society.
I don't particularly like Christina Hoff Summers, but I don't dislike her either - she seems to be a libertarian, and while I don't agree with a lot of what she says, I acknowledge she makes some valuable points.
Though, when you're talking about the agression of feminists, don't refer to the bullshit you see on youtube. I'd like to say I've built my feminist street cred over the years, being involved with film festivals, research centers, and a domestic violence hotline, and I will say the bullshit you see - though real - is only a fraction of feminism.
Some books I'd recommend - The Female Eunich by Germaine Greer, Lenses of Gender by Sandra Bem, and Sex and Social Justice by Martha Nussbaum (yes, Anita Sarkeesian mentions Nussbaum but butchers her main point, I can get into more detail if you want, but just because Sarkeesian (mis)quotes Nussbaum, don't be turned off immediately), plus the writings of Gayle Rubin.
Pretty much everyone I listed is a sex positive feminist, so there is that bias, but my point is that there are a lot of feminists who aren't just "SHUT UP PATRIARCHY!"

I actually agree with this, and I think the best thing rational feminists can do when confronted with these types of 'feminists' is to call them out. Acknowledging that there are flaws within your own movement is a great way to show that you're open to rational and honest criticism.

Nice generalization throughout the test. 0/10, no concern for gay men. Am offended.

Not talking about individual men and women.

This is one of the shittiest quizzes in the history of mankind.
The large letters is a hashtag.
I'm not giving my opinion, I'm giving demonstrable facts.

The correct answer is no, though.
Nice.
yas king we have to remember we are the problem
Hostile sexism score 3.83.
Benevolent sexism score 3.
Welp...atleast im not so...sexist?
I feel like the only correct answer is to not take the quiz.
0.67 for hostile and 3.17 for benevolent.
This quiz and the person who made it are so goddamn stupid.
Apparently I'm a very hostile sexist. The more you know...

Well that's funny.

an I wouldn't let my girls or wife make me any sandwich, I don't want to die
but it is interesting how prejudices are voted up in this discussion
You'll make a great wife
Noting facts about groups is now prejudice. Okay.
EDIT: Tell me, is it prejudice if I note that black people have longer lasting melanin?

Count me in. Being a straight white cis-gendered male, I think I'm especially qualified for this sort of thing.
I actually agree with this, and I think the best thing rational feminists can do when confronted with these types of 'feminists' is to call them out. Acknowledging that there are flaws within your own movement is a great way to show that you're open to rational and honest criticism.
Haven't you learned by now that demonstrable facts are nothing but opinions to be brushed aside when it's convenient to do so?
We have a winner.
