That's... oddly specific. Except for Genre... I think you mentioned about every one...
I don't know if these are available in the West, but, my picks:
2013: 'My Dear Girl, Jin-young,' (cheesy funny romantic comedy) 'Snowpiercer.' (political allegory action film)
2014: 'A Girl at my Door,' (drama) 'Cart,' (political drama) 'Pickup Artist,' (drama) 'Highheel,' (LGBT action)
2015: 'The Liar,' (drama) 'The Avian Kind,' (arthouse drama) 'Coin Locker Girl,' (action) 'Overman,' (romance) 'Girl on Edge,' (teen mystery comedy)
Wait, do you want 2000-present or 2013 to present... the latter I can give you a more focused list...
I haven't seen any from 2013 and beyond, but I have seen some from before: Battle Royale, The Host, The Man from Nowhere, Oldboy, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and Kung Fu Hustle.
The Ip Man trilogy is pretty damn amazing, so there's that.
I haven't seen many particularly well known asian movies that were popular outside of asia
speaking of korean drama, do they really throw eggs at people in korea? i've seen scenes where fans throw eggs at celebrities who have done something scandalous, or even just coz they hate them. is that really true?
Yes it is true, prime example is the prime minister of South Korea, he was pelted with eggs and water bottles due to THAAD.
Wow, i didn't know that happens in some countries, and even to a prime minister. i mean, at least not in our country. what other countries tolerate that to happen, being ganged up by fans or people and they throw eggs at someone, isn't that offensive, can he not sue them?
I think the Prime minister would sue them but the problem would be that if he did then it would cause massive amounts of unrest across the country and the DPRK can use that to their advantage or government could collapse like it did many times before.
That happens in england too only its not as common now
Korea doesn't have a prime minister. We have a president. She's never had eggs thrown at her, to my knowledge. But she did get slashed in the face once with a knife (when she was still an assemblywoman). Some nutter also slashed the US ambassador a year or two ago.
Edit: Ha, it turns out there is a prime minister. Never heard of him. I don't think the prime minister is actually that important though. More like the President's assistant and representative in the national assembly.
If you are into some nice and awesome actions, I can recommend Red Cliff. If possible, find Part 1 and Part 2. The edited version is nothing compared to Part 1 and Part 2 version. It fleshed out the plot better and there are more awesome battle scenes.
