King's Quest
I just dloaded and played the first chapter through 2 times, it is the first time I have had a chance to play a telltale game like this, and I really like it. I have been meaning to pick up The Wolf Among Us, and I will likely do so when August rolls around. I am very confused though, why isn't there a forum for King's Quest when you guys made it with cooperation with Sierra?

Telltale didn't make King's Quest.
Telltale lost the rights to King's Quest back in 2013 so they cancelled the game, the current game is made by The Odd Gentlemen and is published by Sierra which is why there isn't a forum for King's Quest.
really?! i thought i saw them listed when i started the game up. the game seemed to play similar to a tell tale game from what i understand with choices and consequences. similar art style too.
so why does the game feel like a tell tale game with the choice/consequences and cel shaded art style effect? it seems strange that another company would use the same formula in making it. was the game that got released what was started on when TT had the rights?
Telltale wasn't the first to use cel shaded graphics or to have choices in its games lol
Some companies do seem to get inspiration from Telltale with the choice and consequences style of gameplay like DONTNOD did with Life is Strange, King's Quest was going to be a point and click style anyway so that is likely why it feels similar to a Telltale game.
King's Quest episode 1 was released last July which is after Telltale lost the rights so they had no input into the games design or play style.
Telltale formula is to take classic point and click concept, greatly reduce the time ratio that you're in control than usually, add timers to dialogue options and stop the time for bigger decisions. Oh and, remove the "actual" puzzles and replace them with some extremely simple ones and have only like a few per episode. Also, typically dialogues are almost all of about choosing from four options which one is typically not answering. QTE also plays prominent role despite their infamous stigma in the past.
Games that take a great inspirations terms of gameplay from them generally opt-in to more diverse/advanced dialogue system and gameplay. They also tend to not have timed dialogue options unless it calls for it. They also want to give you more control unlike modern Telltale Games products (outside of Poker Night series.)
i just found out that ep1 of minecraft story mode is free on the windows store right now so i dloaded to check it out, i see what you mean. the tt games also seem to be more cinematic as well, even though KQ is plenty cinematic, it isnt THIS cinematic. there are timed events in KQ where you do have a limited time to make a certain choice, not as many as in minecraft but they are there.
i have to say a tt game definitely keeps you on your toes as you have to pay attention and respond as best as you can with responses to dialogue or qte events, i have to say that KQ and the tt games seem to do it very well as opposed to other games that do it and they are mapped to one button or something like that, when TR did it with TR legend i felt they took the fun out the the TR game by doing that.
i am definitely gonna grab wolf among us when i get paid in a week and a half.
I also recommend Life is Strange. Not made by Telltale Games. Although you probably already have played it.
i played a demo of it a couple months ago, not sure if i like it enough to get the full game.
ok, update to that, i found out that episode 1 of Life is Strange is now completely free, so i just played it and it looks like a very interesting story. i may have to pick it up if it gets released with all content on disc for the ps4.
