What is your opinion of Jesus?
Whether you believe he was a real man or not.
Or if he was the Son of God, God Himself, or just a Man.
Personally, I believe he really did exist. The 1st century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus mentions him at least twice - and he also mentions John The Baptist - the man who Baptized Jesus.
"Now some of the Jews thought that the destruction of Herod's army came from God, and that very justly, as a punishment of what he did against John, that was called the Baptist: for Herod slew him, who was a good man... Herod, who feared lest the great influence John had over the people might put it into his power and inclination to raise a rebellion... Accordingly he was sent a prisoner, out of Herod's suspicious temper, to Macherus, the castle I before mentioned, and was there put to death.
About this time there lived JESUS, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he was one who performed surprising deeds and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly. He won over many Jews and many of the Greeks. He was the CHRIST. And when, upon the accusation of the principal men among us, Pilate had condemned him to a cross, those who had first come to love him did not cease. He appeared to them spending a third day restored to life, for the prophets of God had foretold these things and a thousand other marvels about him. And the tribe of the Christians, so called after him, has still to this day not disappeared.
And now Caesar, upon hearing the death of Festus, sent Albinus into Judea, as procurator. But the king deprived Joseph of the high priesthood, and bestowed the succession to that dignity on the son of Ananus, who was also himself called Ananus. Now the report goes that this eldest Ananus proved a most fortunate man; for he had five sons who had all performed the office of a high priest to God, and who had himself enjoyed that dignity a long time formerly, which had never happened to any other of our high priests. But this younger Ananus, who, as we have told you already, took the high priesthood, was a bold man in his temper, and very insolent; he was also of the sect of the Sadducees, who are very rigid in judging offenders, above all the rest of the Jews, as we have already observed; when, therefore, Ananus was of this disposition, he thought he had now a proper opportunity. Festus was now dead, and Albinus was but upon the road; so he assembled the sanhedrin of judges, and brought before them the brother of JESUS, who was called CHRIST, whose name was James, and some others; and when he had formed an accusation against them as breakers of the law, he delivered them to be stoned: but as for those who seemed the most equitable of the citizens, and such as were the most uneasy at the breach of the laws, they disliked what was done; they also sent to the king, desiring him to send to Ananus that he should act so no more, for that what he had already done was not to be justified; nay, some of them went also to meet Albinus, as he was upon his journey from Alexandria, and informed him that it was not lawful for Ananus to assemble a sanhedrin without his consent. Whereupon Albinus complied with what they said, and wrote in anger to Ananus, and threatened that he would bring him to punishment for what he had done; on which king Agrippa took the high priesthood from him, when he had ruled but three months, and made Jesus, the son of Damneus, high priest."
I think that Jesus was a Man, and the Son Of God. Personally, I don't believe in the trinity, it just never made sense to me. And I think Jesus was one cool dude.

Well I am a Christian so yeah, I love Him.
I prefer Satan.
I don't really have much of an opinion tbh. He could have lived once, but rising from the grave to send misbehaving people to burn in eternal hellfire is a bit ridiculous.
The concept of Christianity has far too many plot holes if you ask me. But, to each their own.
Wouldn't be surprised if Gandalf the Grey was inspired by him.
There are claims that Jesus fought against the system. He wasn't happy about the greed of church or some such. Like went and flipped tables full of money or something for protest.
I honestly believe he is a man who saw problems in his society and used people's region, ignorance and paranoia to fix those problems, and died because he stuck it to the "Man" you can say. Upon his death his followers built an entire new religion around him, using his name as a martyr. At least that is my general opinion of Jesus. In other words, to me he used people's ignorance. To me he is no different than any other self proclaimed prophet. Question is are the stories about the good he tried to do really true? If they are, he is a false prophet who tried to do good, and uses people's shortsightedness, and ignorance to do that good. You can even argue if he ever said he was the son of god, or whether he was a prophet or did his followers?
I sometimes wonder if the stories about him are watered down and embellished to make him sound far better of a man than he actually was though. In a lot of ways you can guarantee that is likely the case. It often is the case for other prophets since so is Jesus any different? Just that the religion that sprouted from him became successful, more so than most.
To be honest though, I think Christianity has evolved into something good over the years. So the stories of Jesus, and his teachings whether they're 100% truthful are 1% truthful, no longer matter, as the stories still teach people to be GOOD people.
History, to my knowledge, proves he existed; he seemed to be a peace-loving disciple of Hillel who cared for the poor. Sounds like a great guy. Doesn't make him God.
Religion imo is ridiculous. Some of it's rules are absolutely ludicrous. I think it's an interesting but barbaric, senseless story. I also find some of it's members sort of hypocritical. I got into a debate with some christians the other day. They believe gay marriage, eating shellfish is wrong. They said the bible forbids all things unnatural yet will deny any other monstrous things put in the bible such as being allowed to own slaves and sell your daughter. With that said an opinion on Jesus is the same to my opinion on religion. Fictitious. I asked these said christians how someone could impregnate a virgin and be born as themselves. They gave me no direct answer other then that's one of life's several mysteries. I also learned anytime I've ever presented factual evidence to a christian they lash out and insult you. It's part of the reason I choose not to be affiliated with any religion
What? You do know that Jesus founded the first church right? And He was totally against anarchy, so much so that he had this to say about stealing from Caesar: "Render unto Caesar, the things that are Caesar's". I think it would be cool research things a little before commenting.
I love him.
Don't care for religion, don't give a lick about jesus, some how knew who made this thread when I saw it.
He's a chill black dude that's all I care to know about him
He probably existed, don't think he had super powers or anything like the bible implicates though. Just a normal dude.
I believe he exist . Some require proof . Only fools deny his existence .
So people are fools just because they don't believe in Jesus' existence. Noted.
Church didn't exist before Jesus.
What college you at?
I'm still in high school...
I know. It was a joke.
Well, I don't get it
Wait, how do you know I'm in high school?
I just could tell you're a teenager, I guess the way you talk and your personality. Or dark magic.
He could turn water into wine that's a gigantic A in my books
She can see her own kin.
That's a brave question, start the witch hunt Immidately! Truly though, he's mentioned in several "Secular" texts and you thread contains some of the credible ones. To answer your question. I'll refer you to the Khalis episode of Star Trek TNG. I've been "babtised in the blood" so to speak..but have come to the conclusion that"faith" is what you make it. I belive in God and the Trinity, but I believe the word faith is tainted. Like I said just watch the episode. I like him just fine, its everthing being done in his name that's the issue. dragonfire out
Luke 18:19 - "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
Yeah, I love Him!
He helps me pick my vegetables, we go way back. Oh, not that Jesus? Meh.
He sounds like a cool guy. I don't believe in god and I'm not christian, but Jesus Christ himself sounded like somebody you could relate to. Minus the whole "Son of an immortal overlord" thing.
Say hello to Jesús for me.
My favorite Power Ranger.
Ha, mexican joke.
He was the white one, right?
No need for that.
That's a pretty ignorant way of thinking. Anyone in this world can or cannot believe in whoever or whatever they want.
Like your profile picture for example, I remember that you've claimed it was you but I chose to believe that it wasn't really you and as expected...

It totally wasn't you. You've mentioned before that your name was Carla but the girl whose pics you stole and claimed to be you is named Christine. So I guess I could say that only fools believe that that's actually you.
Plot twist
A man with a noble message, that was eventually used by the corrupt church in order to control Europe and then the whole world.
Perfect, I dont know how to do hands so clap clap clap
Savage.
Fucking nice.
Too bad he can only make shitty Moscato.
You mean that hippie who started a cult?
