Could Telltale make "Tales of Monkey Island Remastered"?

edited August 2016 in General Chat

After the release of Back to the Future: The Game 30th Anniversary Edition, a thought occurred to me. Is there a chance that Tales of Monkey Island will get re-released for the PS4 and other current generation consoles?

  • I hope they do this with sam and max it would make more sense because its coming up to a anniversary and i believe monkey island is owned by disney now.

  • I thought this thread was for a real announcement. Shame, now I'm sad.

  • Same. I woke up and thought this was Telltale's "secret project". I updated the thread title to clarify it was only speculation.

  • Didn't stop Double Fine from re-releasing Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle.

  • I'm sure they still have the rights and everything, so they could, but I doubt they will.

  • Are you high?

  • It depends on what rights they currently have. It does seem that they still have the rights to the game(you would think this is given, but it's not; Wallace And Gromit is completely gone). I do believe that they could currently remaster it if they wanted to. You don't know for certain as TTG has signed some wonky deals in the past before they were a big player.

  • I would recommend contacting Telltale's Support Team:

I very much doubt that if Telltale did anything with the Monkey Island franchise that they would keep it a secret. They would need all the advertisement they could get to make it as profitable as their recent games. That said, I reeeeeeeeeally want it to happen. The Monkey Island series was my childhood.
