This is the worst Telltale game I've played yet.

Oh God, the comment section in avgn's review is just swarming with telltale haters. I have never seen so many of them in one place before.

The only thing that actually bothers me with the voice acting is that Bruce has the exact same voice as Rhys, from Tales from the Borderlands, and I can't get it out of my head.

Troy Baker is an extremely versatile voice actor (look at Joel from the Last of Us), so I'm sure Telltale could ask him to do a different voice, no?

Well,Mike of AVGN fame completly agrees in his review! He called it the "worst Batman game ever" and called the voice acting"terrible". whi

  • I think he sounds kind of uninspired, if thats the right word, as Bruce Wayne, and I thought the same thing about him as Sam in Uncharted 4, he can be really great though, like Rhys or Joel, but I can't hear him using the same voice for Bruce Wayne and Rhys.

  • i like this game a lot how ever. I do think telltale are running out of steam if you look at something like life is strange it makes telltale seem outdated

  • I'd have to disagree. Like, very strongly.

For dark, sinister sounding tracks tracks, well, you can look at pretty much the entire TWAU soundtrack The Walking Dead's soundtrack can get pretty dark at times, but not in the same twisted sense that you might hear in songs like this.

As for epic, he's done shitloads of tracks that fit that description.

To be honest, the soundtrack for Batman sounded VERY similar to The Wolf Among Us'; you can even tell that they reused synths in a few places. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Jared Emerson-Johnson, but I wouldn't say his work here is some huge step up from what he's done in the past. Give the guy some credit.

  • Yeah, this place can be a bit of a vacuum of positivity sometimes. It was weird digging through there.

  • Ah, sure. I think TWAU has a lot of epic/dark tracks, but you're allowed to have your own opinion.

  • I agree with OP.

This is a very poor offering. After that mediocre 'Michonne', this one didn't cleanse the palate, but instead added more of the same.

Telltale's head getting too big -- they think a simple "handshake" choice is a big deal. We all know that the choices don't really matter in the end.

We need more like TWAU and Borderlands, not cookie-cutter mediocre series like this one.

  • @Stevenuk8926: absolutely agree. Life Is Strange is like a masterpiece compared to TT games. The ability to rewind is just more than a quality of life feature, it should be in all games. Add to that an absolutely stellar soundtrack and loveable characters, it's leagues above what TT is putting out currently.

  • You do realize that it's just the media BEING the media. I mean when has the media not taken a simple interaction out of context? Really that should be common knowledge at this point.

It's not the general thought by any means. The majority of both fabases (Or at least a large part) LOVE the game. Game reviewing sites did not give it lower than 8/10 and the YouTube Walkthroughs / steam response was great most saying its a fantastic start to what they think has the potential to be an amazing game, some even saying the like the story better than the Arkham games which focused on the myth and ignored the man like Bruce didn't have any life outside his suit. There is a thread right here on the site to review it and the LARGE majority liked it too. Even Piggs at the start of this thread admits his opinion is far from popular. So you might be wondering, "If it's THAT liked why do I hear so many negative comments about it?" Well, several reasons.

Mainly is the fact that hating on TTG has become very commonplace. There are many people that believe the company should have failed years ago, are pissed that so many of the most popular franchises of our generation have teemed up with Telltale and hate the fact that all of them have been showered with positive reviews. In fact, many critics were convinced that The Walking Dead would be the game to destroy telltale, since it was a dark horror story about the struggle of humanity to survive told by the company that was famous for lighthearted comedy games. Others are still hateful of telltale because they feel they abandoned their roots and got into swears and intense gore. Look at any telltale game and you will see several youtubers or threads which hate the company with passion. This has lead to people making the exact same arguments, with "Choices Don't Matter" being the most common. Sometimes even legitament complaints are normally lost because of it these.

That and the fact that it's just simpler to talk about something you hate than something you like. Therefore people who hate the game are more vocal about it than people who like it, who mostly tend to defend the game when they feel someone was unfair to it.

Well,Mike of AVGN fame completly agrees in his review! He called it the "worst Batman game ever" and called the voice acting"terrible". whi

  • Devs must love strangling each other for money, for them to patent even their glitches. Unless it turns out that all this time, Tellltale was Ubisoft California all along. Now that'd a real M. Night Shyamalan twist.

Hating anything on the internet is commonplace. As soon as one person sticks their head up to announce that they don't like something, especially when it's something most other people seem to like, everyone else that doesn't like it will start coming out of the woodwork. And sadly, that same group of people tend to start drowning out everything else because of how vocal they are about it.

It seems more like a lot of the comments in both the video itself and the comment section are people that really, really don't like the whole 'interactive story' genre of games

It seems more fueled by the fact that it isn't a conventional game than it is the quality of the game itself. Which is the biggest mistake anyone can make when it comes to Telltale's series; looking at and judging them as if they're conventional games.
