No Man's Sky

So, is there anyone here currently playing No Man's Sky?

Right now, the reviews is extremely negative on Steam, because the game crashes, even on powerful computer can't play this game and a player quoting a Steam Reviewer: PC made by Jesus Christ can barely hit 20 fps.

  • Its a shame, that devs still have problems to develope a functional PC Version.

No offense to anyone who likes the game, but No mans sky is one of the most boring and bland games I have ever seen. Overhyped is an understatement.

  • I thought this was a PS4 exclusive?

  • No multiplayer! drops mic

  • I think the game was soo overhyped that the expectations went through the atmosphere.

I've got it on PS4, and I'm okay with it. This is just one of those "love it or hate it" games. It's mostly a "LOOK AT OUR COOL PLANETS" experience, but it's good for when you want to chill. Yes, it does get repetitive, so I just like to play for maybe an hour or two and then stop before it gets too repetitive, and then start again the next day..
EDIT: But the first few hours, where you're stuck in that first solar system, trying to repair and upgrade your ship are the best, because everything you see is new!

  • I think for this generation of gamers, No Man's Sky is the game that will make people realize that they should be skeptical of all upcoming games.

Since I learned what the game was about, I knew it was basically a first-person version of a resource management game I have on my phone called 'Out There' where you are a lone space traveler trying to make your way across the galaxy. You need to manage all these different elements you gather in order to keep your ship going, and even learn the alien language one word at a time.

  • I think no mans sky's biggest problem is that there isn't any real multiplayer. Id imagine the game would be much more fun if you were flying and then attacked by another player, or you could find a small civilization built by another player or just find another player on a planet. Obviously the game is infinent so you may not even encounter another player at all. It's just to me the game feels like it's empty without anything to really do besides finding stuff to name and hoping others see it

I don't think the game is bad at all, but I don't think it's great. I think that the people who consider it one of the worst games of all time or even a bad game at all are kinda overreacting.

It would have never lived up to the hype people had for the game no matter what the final product actually was. At the moment, yeah it's average to below average game that needs more polishing. It's definitely not a game for everyone though.

    And then burn it down!

  • I think the idea of the game is fascinating, just sort of limitless, kind of like the real world (I guess?).

To be honest most games have trouble living up to the hype, and it's probably quite really annoying. Usually games have to be really fantastic to brush aside performance and issues like that at launch.

If I'm going to get it on PC I'll probably wait to performance issues and the multiplayer are fixed. I hope they are.

  • I was fascinated by the idea of the game but in all honesty, when I first heard about it I had the feeling that I'd probably get bored of it fairly quickly. Mostly since there's not really a story it seems.

  • No Man's Sky is really "meh". It's very repetitive. The magical algorithm that makes everything look so unique? It works for about 3 hours. The resource management isn't even very interesting. They give you such limited space, so it's very hard to keep anything for later. You either prioritize making money and hoping that rare stuff pops up on the market when you need it, or save all the rare things you find and go unitless. The difficulty of obtaining/storing elements makes upgrading a daunting task (buying a new ship/weapon usually seems to be a better use of time than upgrading anything, which seems to me kind of idiotic in a game based largely around upgrades). I can see why "enter name here" sped through the game to the center as fast as he could. . .

6/10 I'll rush to the end and pull the curtains. Very little in replay value as well. If you've seen it once, you've seen it enough.

  • Totally boring game. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone if given the choice.

  • 60$ for a bland and boring game? I'd pay 10$ max for something like this.

  • Meanwhile at Hello Games:

  • Why? They got their $

  • I haven't played it yet but I honestly think that for some it's just...

    Haters Gonna Hate

...and once some of the issues are fixed it's gonna be a good game. It's not for everyone, but for people like me who adore the Star Trek exploration fantasy, it sounds really cool.
