Rise of the Tomb Raider? or Just Cause 3?

enter image description here

Both are AAA games. I've only played one of their prequels TR 2013

  1. Can you please recommend which one did you like playing more? & Why did you like it more than the other?
  2. What are the pros & cons for each of the games?

Comments

  • I've only played JustCause 3 the first hour of that game u are amazed how awesome it is. Then after that nothing new you repeat the same stuff you did in first hour repeatedly till you end up hating everything about it.

    Never played rotr

Being ps4 owner I'm hyped for rise after playing first TR it's already clear to me it's the winner

  • I never played JC3 but I have played about half of Rise of the Tomb Raider, and about Half of Tomb Raider 2013.

What I can say about Rise of the Tomb Raider is, its almost exactly the same as the 2013 game. Game is lackluster and repetitive, a boring story, complete with forgettable, unlikable, and boring characters, and overall just boring gameplay.

  • Haven't played Just Cause 3 but I have played Rise of the Tomb Raider. I really liked it and it's a good improvement from the previous game and has a more interesting story, but it still uses some very similar themes which irk me.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider, unless you enjoy watching slideshows, because that is exactly what happens in JC3 as soon as anything is going on on-screen.

  • rise of the tomb raider is best game i ever played. but it ends on cliffhanger and we probably wont get a sequel for another 3 or 4 years.

  • Think of Rise of The Tomb Raider as a sequel like the Arkham sequels if you've played those. It's more of the same with small adjustments and improvements. If you feel like playing TR again, you'll like the sequel. If you're a bit tired of it, give it some more time.

  • Rise of tombraider is okay, but its pretty much the same game as the first really. Dumped on an island to find a long lost treasure with secret people and magic. The villans are a bit better but not much.

How much did you like the first one?

  • I enjoyed Rise of the Tomb Raider a lot. Story is okay, but I think they've shaped Lara into a great character.

  • i think what's new in ROTR is that you can do the either the stealth(& distract enemies using bottles etc) or all guns blazing or finishers approach (i'm not sure tho coz i just watched some first 10 mins of let's plays. but how about the mechanics? Do stealths have the same XPs as killing people or doing headshots? i think in TR, you get higher XP from headshots.

What annoyed me in TR is that, when you shoot an arrow and miss(or just try to distract), & don't kill the guy you're trying to distract, for a few seconds he automatically detects where you are & everyone knows where you are. uuuugh!

i hope this isn't the case in ROTR. Is it?

  • Rise of the tomb raider. One of the best games I have ever played. Amazing graphics, fun gameplay, and a very interesting story. Plus Lara is such an awesome protagonist.

I haven't played Just Cause 3, but I have heard nothing but bad to okay things. Apparently it is really buggy though it may have been fixed by now.

  • Nah JC3's performance has actually gotten worse with the last 2 patches, now the framerate can drop as low as 15 whenever an explosion happens. It's the same thing on both XB1 and PS4, and I've read about the PC versiom having serious memory leak issues.

  • Rise of The Tomb Raider is better but the story isn't something to be excited about.

  • Which is longer (main missions only), TR or ROTR?

  • ROTR, but barely. I did TR in 9.5 and ROTR in 11. Both played fairly casually. They could be about equal for all I know because the sequel felt like it had more reading/listening than the original.

I don't like either, but if someone held a knife to my eyeball and forced me to choose, I'd say JC3.

  • I haven't played Just Cause 3 (I'll be trying it soon), but I have played Rise of the TR and really liked it. Its just a fun game to play, however the story isn't all that great.

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's been some time since I played a game so amazing.

  • With the piss-poor performance of Just Cause 3?! I may be easy to please, but JC3's performance issues are unacceptable to the highest degree. Rise of the Tomb Raider is the perfect linear story-based game to me. It's like a David Cage "game" if David Cage's "games" were actually good and had a good story!

  • I don't really think the question is if you like both of them, but more of which of them do you think is better than the other. I don't quite find it likely that you dislike them both to the exact same level. I mean, Silent Hill: Revelation and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones are two of the worst movies I've ever sat through and they not only pissed me off as a fan of both series' but as a movie-goer in general, and yet out of those two garbage pieces of shit, I hold Attack of the Clones slightly higher than Revelation purely because I fucking love Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. Meanwhile Revelation has one redeeming quality. The end credits sequence.

Although if you haven't played either, I suppose the statement about neither is incredibly valid. But that would just beg the question of why would you go on a thread with these two games involved if ya haven't played them?

  • Edited my comment.

WOW! That is a... that is a fucking dark way to put it! XD

    Edited my comment.

  • I'm just that kinda person.

  • If David Cage directed ROTR, you can bet there'd be some poorly executed sex scenes and Lara shower scenes.

  • This is the only Lara Croft shower scene:

  • Indeed, but you just know David Cage wouldn't settle at that. For the sake of art and emotions, we'd see Lara completely naked, because... emoshuns.

  • Ah yes, because forcing Madison to strip down for a crime lord was a very emotional scene. Here's a scene that's just as emotional.

I couldn't believe the emotions going on in that scene. Truly proves Cage is a fucking genius. it was almost as emotional as that time when that psycho doctor drills Madison's...

I'm still unsure what is the worst of all, Dalmatians 3, Snow White and the 7 Clever boys or Peter pan. Though picking between the 3 is like picking on wether to eat shit ice cream, shit cake or shit pie.

Yeah, that might be the worst out of the bunch. Maybe, I hope Caddy looks at Phoenix games' other pieces of shit someday. Though I feel bad for wanting him to suffer through them. He'd still have to go through:
    • Paccie (Rip-off of Pac-Man)
    • Dinosaur Adventure (Rip-off of The Land Before Time)
    • Street Warrior (Rip-off of Street Fighter)
    • Hamster Ball (Rip-off of Monkey Ball)
    • Maniac Mole
    • Cartoon Kingdom
    • Legend of Herkules (Rip-off of Hercules)
    • White Van Racer
    • Crabby Adventure
    • Dalmatians 4 (Only for the Wii)
    • Mighty Mulan (Rip-off of Mulan)
    • Son of the Lion King (Rip-off of The Lion King)
    • Kidz Sports Basketball
    • Animal Soccer World (Rip-off of Bedknobs and Broomsticks)
    • Arcade 3D Games Action
    • Wii Version: Adventures of Pinocchio. PS2 Version: Pinocchio (Rip-off of Pinocchio)
    • Veggy World
    • Wacky Zoo GP (Rip-off of Mario Kart Series)
    • Cinderella (Rip-off of Cinderella)

I'd say Snow White and the Seven Clever Boys is definitely the worst.

  • I hope he doesn't honestly, poor guy would probably commit suicide from how fucking awful they are.

  • Yeah, I don't think he'd be able to handle going through so many awful games. He'd probably wind yp going insane. Thank God Phoenix Games is no longer around.

  • I would reccomend Just cause 3 its really improved from jc2

  • They have been fixed mostly but enemies seem to stretch out on my game
