I think he was doing what any super hero would of done - let's use 1 example only:
He decides to drag the first robber inside the buildin… moreg and tie him up instead of throwing him off the ledge. <<<<d*** move (wannabe kill choices aside)
Superman nor Wonder woman would not have thrown him off the ledge.
#1 who tf tries to save the city from crime but then catches a burgalar and is like "oh hoho!!!!" throws him to his death think about it.. like if there was a DC Judge; your hero "card" is now terminated lol
but it's a really good game so far, no one should be mad about Batman's killing preference.. it's only the first episode and it's getting JUICY
-Thor and Hitler: No, listen, it is one number of the Invaders where Hitler TRICKS Thor into believing the Invaders are evil. He finds out it was a lie and he erase the mind of everyone. I know it sounds shocking and it looks cool in buzzfeed articles, but no, Thor did not work for Hitler, he was cheated and belive his lie for around 4 pages before realizing the Invaders where the good guys. PLUS and most importantly: This story is no longer cannon, it´s out of continuity, it never happen.
-"See it as a multiverse story": I am a comicbook reader, trust me, I have no problem with the multiverse point of view, mainly because, well, multiverse is a comicbook trope. My problem is that this particular multiverse version is new yet it takes too much from other stories that are better. The whole game would be more enjoyable for me if it wasn´t yet another "first years of Batman" story, specially when they have constructed one that is based upon comic stories that are WAAAAAAAYYYY better than this game.
About the violence:
I'm not a big comic book reader. But I understand that the older comics aren't realistic or logical etc. With Thor work… moreing for Hitler and stuff like that. So if you think of it, how does Batman keep the criminals being afraid of him? They know that he doesn't kill people, right? If he doesn't even hurt them then they just go to prison. They would be annoyed to see the Batman, but not really afraid. OR just afraid of being sent to prison. Because how long will people be afraid of a bat, when they realise that the Batman does no harm? The criminals need to believe that he's dangerous and means them harm, if Batman wants to keep using fear as a weapon.
That said, I hate versions, where Batman kills people. I agree with you that he has his codex and I love the idea of him trying to do the right thing. It makes him a hero. The Punisher is in my opinion no hero, but he's certainly more effective. I mean .. Imagine how many peo… [view original content]
Think I already explained in another response, if they are gonna do something already done, do it like it was, if you´re gonna do something new, do it totally new.
This version doesn´t try new things, it mixes things from previous incarnations, they change things but not enough, they use source material but so loosely that it doesn´t even make sense to do it to begin with.
I´ll say it´s the game the contradicting one, it doesn´t know if it wants to make Nolan´s Batman or comicbook Batman, so it takes the story of two comicbooks and presented in the style of the Nolan version. That to me is boring and un-effective, specially since I do not like the Nolan/DCEU approach and those two comics the story is based on are way better than the game, so what´s the point?
How DARE Telltale do something original with Batman instead of doing the same thing over and over!
Also, you said that you didnt like the… more changes they made, and you wanted them to be like the "Batman" you knew. Same looking characters, same goals, same Batman, same Harvey Dent, Ect.
But then you literally say you hate that the story is similar to other Batman stories and you hate it because youve seen it a thousand times.
Sooooooo, do you not like it because its a different Batman? Or do you not like it because its the same Batman? Because it looks to me like that is extremely contradicting.
Nope, I don´t liked the game and I proceed to an open opinion community to express mine.
I do not see any rage or screams, in fact I´ll say I actually tried to be polite and express both my actual love for TellTale games and that my opinion as bias and I was aware of it in my second comment.
You rage and scream because you didn't like the game?
I understand people getting heated but at a point your surroundings start to question your sanity, maybe it goes too far (the screaming part.)
Pretty cal down to be honest as I was when I posted this.
I would really like you or any other user saying anything about how I scream or rage or my reactions are...much to point out the exact moment I stopped being civil. Oh yes, there´s a line where I, in a comedic way mind you, said "My rage overcomes me and I start scream", you´re talking about that? Oh no, wait, I see it, I use capitals on some letter to point out a specific point being aware that my post is long (as usual) and I wanted to draw attentions to those parts, is that it? It´s the use of capitals in the forums some way of expressing rage and I did not get the memo.
This whole response I wrote it with a smile in my face by the by. Seems like I must start saying that in every post that is not overly positive if I do not want people thinking I´m hulking out and smashing my keyboard on frustration.
You're a classicist.
Seriously though, you need to calm down. Some people will not like the game, and there are several valid reasons not to, but your reactions are a little...much.
No, I criticize that the game is a mesh on his depiction of the character. It takes samples from other versions of Batman that I personally don´t like and then mixes it with water down source material.
Like I said somewhere else, they don´t commit, they try something "new" with the realistic approach kind of like Nolan/DCEU versions but at the same time the story is the same as older source material, specifically Year One and The Long Halloween. I´m not saying is too different or too similar, I´m saying that IT SHOULD BE different or similar, not both at the same time.
First you criticize that it's too different from the beloved source material that you've come to love over the years and then you criticize how it's too similar to some other Batman works. Is it too different or too similar?
First off let me thank you, it may seem weird, but to me at least is kind of refreshing to create a critical threat/post in this forums and get a polite response like yours. Don´t know if it´s because of the age most of the users in here have or because they think TellTale will pay them money for "defending them" of any criticism. I really can´t say a single negative thing on a TellTale game on this forums without someone telling me to calm down and stop being an asshole for not liking something the same way they do.
That being said, i´m ok with having the game, it may not be my cup of tea but I do like TellTale and I do not mind supporting them even with this game, plus Walking Dead season 1 and Wolf Among Us I got basically for free, so paying now this doesn´t feel wrong to me but rather short fo a compensation to the developer that comes with a game for free, one I may not like, but still. Still, thaks a lot for that info.
First let me appologize for my editing and spelling. (Xbone doesn't make this easy for me) If you are the TellTale fan you say you are,you … moreknow TTG has a history with flaws and the indications are Batman is no different. But I'd say in this may be a case of wanting too much from the first ep. I'm not saying you have to love what was presented. That said on Xbox the user agreement states clearly "no refunds for this purchase" Not sure if PSN does like wise. As far as your review I'll say this. I like your review, even though I completely disagree with the thoughts presented. You've made your case in a way that feels uninsulting to me. I had to point this fact out as I've seen "Pro reviewers " use less tact than you have! If you really want that refund I say you should call Sony's 1 800 number. They may help you out, they once sent me a fifty dollar gift card over a PS2 memory card issue plus a new memory card. It took 2hrs to make… [view original content]

. I´m not saying is too different or too similar, I´m saying that IT SHOULD BE different or similar, not both at the same time.
That's how you do an adaptation based on your own vision, though. You have to stay true to the source material, but at the same time, you have to provide enough of your own artistic interpretations for your product to stand on its own. Which is exactly what this game does. So you're basically saying it either has to provide new ideas but not be true to its source material or it has to be true to its source material but not provide any ideas of its own.
No, I criticize that the game is a mesh on his depiction of the character. It takes samples from other versions of Batman that I personally … moredon´t like and then mixes it with water down source material.

lol that guy is weird, under the next comment he wrote that he didn't screamed, but but "he like to think I wrote a pretty funny exaggeration of the moment." as he said. That's not really normal if you ask me
Love the design of Batman's costume. I think it's a pretty good mix of all that we have seen.
Like the design of Catwoman. Sure, it could be a little more complex, but it's cool regardless.
I think having a voice modulator is actually the more practical way to go. It's silly, completely ridiculous even, to have Batman just "talk" in a deep voice. Constipated much?
In regards to Batman's voice I don't see anything wrong with it. After all, he's a "young" Batman still. Hasn't even encountered any super villains.
Why would you want them to use the same actors/voices/exact same characters from previous Batman series'/comics/movies? Every movie/game/TV show about Batman has put their own "spin" on things. That's kind of the point. Otherwise we'd just be playing/watching the same thing over and over again, and it'd get old fast.
So Harvey Dent and Gordon are buff? Gordon is a cop. Naturally, he's physically active. I actually think Harvey Dent being tall/buff is a smart move too. I mean, the dude is a f***ing lawyer. What's intimidating about a lawyer who gets his face burned? Him being physically larger than Batman makes him more of a threat, and makes him being a threat make sense in the first place.
What's wrong with Penguin being British? British actors are some of the best actors in my opinion. Also, it'll be refreshing IF they're making him Penguin to have a different version of Penguin. However, keep in mind, they're going to put their own spin on the Batman series, and therefore he might not even be PENGUIN.
"If you're not doing Batman the way I know it, or doing it the exact same as others, why should I buy the game because it's a name I know?" Nobody told you, "buy Batman because it's a name you know." I certainly didn't buy it for that reason, because as much as I like Batman, it's really started to get overused. I highly doubt ANYONE, except from maybe yourself, bought this game simply because it's Batman and they want to play the same game over again. Sure, people who have never played Telltale may have done so for similar reasons... but for those of us who play Telltale? We bought it because we enjoy Telltale games, and what does each game consist of? Telltales own, unique story.
Why wouldn't Telltale start their OWN take/version of Batman from the BEGINNING? Especially considering their game format. It's an EPISODIC SERIES, naturally, it's probably a game that will be continued and built upon for many years to come. This paves the way for more creativity, several seasons, and again, the potential to be a game/story you haven't already played/read.
"Take a clue with Arkham and the other graphic novels written today?" Seriously, man. If you wanted another Arkham, go play Arkham. There will likely be more of those released in the near future. I know I keep repeating this, but why in the hell would we want the exact same recycled version of Batman that we've already played in games/read in comics/watched in TV shows. What would be the point... especially in a story based game... where the story is nearly EVERYTHING? It'd be like sitting down to watch Batman for the umpteenth hundredth f***ing time, but with a few interactive commands in between. Oh, and since they have to stick so so close to the original story's rules and guidelines in order to satisfy you, you may as well forget having any ACTUAL choices. Right?
You may not give a shit about a Batman that is violent, or that can kill. You may not give a shit about a peaceful Batman. The point is, you get to decide which PATH to take Batman on. You're complaining about being able to "brutalize" Falcone when you clearly have the option to do the opposite. However, there's this crazy saying. "The world doesn't revolve around you." There are others who may want to take a different, more violent path, and that is up to the player. That is sort of the point.
Also, the QTE aren't bad at all. I actually think they're pretty awesome. Naturally, this is going to be a more story oriented game, but they seemed to put more work into the QTE since you're obviously playing an action super-hero. And it's going to be a bit slow because otherwise, you'll just be replaying the same scenes when that's not even necessary to advance the story. That gets very annoying. Once again, if you want a game with more action- there's always Arkham.
You literally contradict yourself so hard in each paragraph. You say Telltale is "re-imagining and telling a story I have already read" but that it's "poorly made." Yet, you started the thread stating that it's "bullshit" that it didn't stick to the " established rules," and complaining that they aren't doing Batman "as you know it." Otherwise, "why buy the game simply because it's a name I already know?" (when nobody said that's why you should buy it)
But hell. Shame on you Telltale, for not following the established rules, not doing things like Arkham, giving players the option to be violent or nonviolent so that they can play out their preferred version of the character. A classic Telltale move, how dare they give me the option to play a non-violent Batman that I know and love, but also give others the option to play a violent one, which affects me in no way shape or form. And... of course, for simply making a game that is "re-imagining and telling a story I've already read," at the same exact time. Because you should write the story just like the other Batman's have, you should also not tell a story that we already know, you also shouldn't redesign the characters.

Well i certainly love it. It helps me connect this Batman to the one i loved and admired in my childhood.
Hopefully if there ever is a kill its compleatly optional.

To be fair it didn´t happen, but I like to think I wrote a pretty funny exaggeration of the moment.
Why did you revive this thread? It has been dead for weeks, the time for replies is long gone.

I'm not reading all of that.
Did you just necrobump the thread to post this meaningless comment?
you are saying that story is the same after only one episode? I'm not trying to insult you, but.. that's not the smartest thing to do
lol that guy is weird, under the next comment he wrote that he didn't screamed, but but "he like to think I wrote a pretty funny exaggeration of the moment." as he said. That's not really normal if you ask me

Nope.
I disagree with you on many points.

My head is spinning right now.
The whole game isn't out yet, is it?
How do you hate a game you've only played less than a quarter of yet?
