They did try and do this with the Michonne miniseries. Though, I don't think they did it very well and if a majority of us are familiar with something called "fillers". This is what Michonne felt like to me...felt like a damn filler episode where nothing really happened but they are very narrowly connecting it to whatever the main story is. They gave some stuff on Michonne backstory concerning her kids but they left it vague. They hinted at her leaving/getting separated from her group but kept it vague and she didn't talk about it. If this was more centered around the comics then they could have given something but mostly everything is vague. Hell, how you really get with the new group is vague.
I wouldn't say learn, but improve on the whole looking at objects and get a feel on what's inside the character's head thing when exploring … moreHUB areas. LIS did this A LOT and TWD has improved on it in Michonne DLC, but not by much since TWD S1. I'm not referring to puzzles or interacting with characters, just the observations. Other than that, I believe TT has nothing to learn from LIS other than what not to do.
Seems like if you include "Life Is Strange" in the thread title, that thread is doomed. I thought people would've gotten over it by now. It's been more than half a year.
How to incorporate art into their games, How to make the environment more interactive, How to make choices matter, How to use music in the right places, How to place subtle clues, notes and info tidbits to enrich the story and make you more immersed, How to create innocent cinnamon roll characters who literally deserve nothing but happiness (Kate), How to make plot twists, How to write death, etc.
But Dontnod could learn from telltale a lot too. How to make the ending worth while, How to correctly animate facial expressions, How to make the secondary main character somebody who you don't want to stab despite how much you love them (Chloe was a cunt), How to make a fucking villain, How to have writing that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out and stab yourself in the eye, etc, etc.

Only on the final choice. The last choice was bullshit and not the one I was talking about. Choices actually made a huge impact on the series and changed a lot of things in the story prior to the 5th episode.
Well saving Kate was a good one. If you tell Victoria about the dark room she dies in ep 5. Though I feel that choice of Victoria dying is on the same level with some of Telltale's choices(if you know what I mean).

wait what? are you serious? look i joke about LiS being shit, but it really was good game, i enjoyed it, but lets be honest, that final episode was complete dog shit. it damn near ruined the game. and what choices made you think about life? to kill an entire town to safe some girl that deserves to die? or just letting nature or fate or whatever take its course and save a town full of innocent people (yeah a lot of them were assholes). ohhh yeah such and impactful life-view-changing decision.
idk about you but im pretty sure TWDG has chaged people's life forever, it freaking changed mine for the better. TWAU still has everyone talking about its ending, even GoT managed to do so with Mira's decision. TFTBL was just a masterpiece, has everyone wanting a sequel. yeah i know you said about life but LiS decision isnt exactly TLOU's, even though TLOU wasnt even a choice based game.
So, what can TT learn from LiS? how not to fuck up a season finale and damn near butcher your game.

What could Telltale learn from life is strange?
How not to make a character driven, "choice" based game.
How not to write a villa… morein and his/her goals and objectives.
How not to use terminology that's supposed to sound hip.
How not to set-up emotional moments.
How not to make a characters directives in a scene.
How not to do time-travel.
How not to do story.
How not to do just about anything really...
There were more endings written but square enix made them have two it wasnt dont nods fault.
The journey was good even though the destination wasn't what some people wanted, however I dont think tt have done many decent endings either.
Twd 1 choice a or b? Twau there was only like one ending with slightly different dialogue, I dont know about borderlands but the choices you make throughout the games ive played have had very little impact on the final episode at all what ending has truly reflected your choices I bar a line of dialog or a snippet of cutscene I want to know because as far as I can tell they have one ending
Decent endings? TWD Season 1; The Wolf Among us; Tales from the Borderlands
Probably even more of the older ones since I'm one of those "new fangled the walking dead bandwagon fans"
There was only one ending for all of those games you mentioned.I wish they had more especially for TWD S1. TWAU couldn't have multiple endings because it was tied to the comics. Tales from the Borderlands didn't use the choices you made to get a different ending but to have a changing battle plan.

Just to put y'all in check...
To not stick in a crappy unnecessary dream sequence for the last 20 minutes of your finale because you ran out of money and thought confusing the hell out of your fans by throwing lots of really weird shit at the screen was better than simply having a shorter episode.
To not use the following terms 'hella' 'retro face' or 'fuck your selfie' in a game or conversation.
To not just retexture everybody's clothes every episode and pretend they're new outfits.
That with great power comes great responsibility, A.K.A actually considering about warning people of the deadly tornado you had a week or so notice of, and helping them escape at some point or another!
To never trust any guy with glasses who have a fetish with bondage and taking photos of young women and calling it 'art'.
Okay let's come up with some actual decent answers.
That having more results on the ending decisions of an episode isn't a bad thing. Life is Strange impressed me with that.
That helping a character through a difficult time and saving them from suicide can restore faith in humanity. The stuff with Kate in Episode 2 was handled really well.
Huuuubhubshubshubshubs.
That having things to read is fun [e.g letters, e-mails]. I admit Life is Strange went a little too deep with this since there were times I ended up skipping documents because it was too overwhelming how much reading they put in there, but the times I did work it did so very well.

Stop trying to be vague....
Since Telltale games rely almost solely on unskippable cinematics, I seriously doubt that.
Great another fart thread...
In short nothing . LIS was okay not great just okay.
Ahhh, another thread doomed from the start!
This man is spitting straight fire!

The only thing that TT can learn that isn't how to be a "cringy hipster game" is how to make more interactive environments.
They could learn to not make a character like Chloe.
They could also learn however, to make characters more like Kate And Warren.
We still talking about Life is Strange?
This.

To never come between a man and his beans.
Video games are hella progressive shaka brah..
That dream sequence was at least an hour! It felt like it would never end...
I still have so many questions in my head about when Max changes time and why she got the power to change time.
Care to explain?
Especially when you start farting.
You know what, reading through this thread, I'm starting to think the best course of action is to just close it
This thread started out with pure intentions, but it was just too good for this crazy, crazy world
