What's your thoughts on the game Mafia 3, Releasing for PS4 Xbox One and PC?
I am personally REALLY excited for it, Almost as excited as I am for Season Three of TWDG. Sorry but you CAN'T TOP THAT hype In my eyes.
Anyways, it has choices like a Telltale game and is over all looking to be at least the most interesting open world game of the past few years. So, Thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to it, i loved the first two games so i am really excited about this one.
I am Slovakian, slovakia language is very similiar to czech so I played first mafia from 2002 in Czech Language and I enjoyed totally... then the old studio Illusion Softworks moved to America renamed to 2KCzech and they created half czech game named Mafia 2 which was also good (but not as good as the firts). Then they annouced Mafia 3 without czech dubbing, only with subtitles and I lost the hope in this series... it just made me really sad, first Mafia will be forever one of the best videogames I have ever played, but I will never play Mafia 3 and above...
I preordered the deluxe edition, cant wait for the game to come out Lincoln Clay is gonna be a freaking badass! Plus he's so sexy!
I'll certainly give a try. Could be fun like Mafia 2 (the one I played).
Lincoln does look bad-ass, I just hope that him and Vito get along. (;
yeah and hopefully will learn about what happens to joe, I'm so excited!
I'm liking Lincoln Clay. His back story, style and personality all seem to appeal to me for some reason

I preorderd on Steam. Loved the first 2 (Mafia 1 being one of my favorite all time games). The soundtrack alone to this game, makes it worth purchasing. I'm also fascinated by this period in American history.
Not to get all patriotic here fellas, but we here consider Mafia one of our most sacred national treasures. So they better not fuck it up!
The fact that reviewers won't be getting copies ahead of launch has me worried it might end sucking. Hopefully that's not the case here, as I've been waiting 6 years for this game. At least Angry Joe enjoyed the 4 hours he played of a preview build.
I hope it turns out awesome, but I got this sinking feeling that it is going to bomb.

My brother had the first one and he hated on it....I tried it and found an amazing adventure....loved how the city gradually grows. Definitely one of the great games, never played 2

This practice has become more and more common. Probably coincides with the frequency of day 1 patches(and possible spoilers). I'm not reading too much into it. The previous games were fun.
It appears a lot of people are downvoting the game because of framerate cap and resolution. Apparently that's what makes a game good these days. I understand being upset about it, but to "not recommend" it just because of that, is pretty stupid.
I haven't looked under the hood yet(as I'm not playing it til later), but I'm fairly certain both of those can be "unlocked" on PC.
Man I hope so.I'd be bummed out if Mafia 3 wasn't that good, after waiting 6 years for it.
Anybody have it yet? Doing some early morning shopping and It's here, but I don't know if I should pick it up. Is it any good?
The FPS issue is slightly annoying for me but it's not something i wouldn't recommend the game over and they are going to fix this issue this weekend which is pretty good to hear.
That bullet in the skull sure did a number on poor Lincoln.
It's a weird time we're in where I have found myself waiting for professional reviews over the general public. It's really hard to take the public seriously with "It was fun 10/10" followed by "Not like the first two games, 0/10".

Alright. I'm going to fire it up. Granted, my PC ran Arkham Knight perfectly fine on release day. So we'll see.
I have this installed on my SSD and I'm making sure all my drivers are up to date before launching.

I heard that the game is ugly AF on pc. Lower textures than consoles... So glad I didn't buy it, I'll spend my money on dishonored 2 instead and buy mafia 3 when and if it gets fixed.

Textures are pretty low resolution. That's true. Not terrible, but they look a generation old. It is very noticeable with vehicles and foliage.
Lighting, shadow, bloom all look fine to me. So that one is definitely on the game. I'm hoping it's something they fix. I highly doubt they designed certain vehicles to have a total of 2 colors on the bumpers. They could have dialed a few settings back for launch to nip the "game doesn't even play" reviews which inevitably come. I'm hoping anyway. It doesn't effect the game for me, but it shouldn't be an issue for a modern triple A title.
I'm not noticing the massive framerate drops, but I did see a few lost frames. It does look like there is an issue there too.
All in all, I find the game easily in the "playable" realm. It's not on par with GTA5, but it's fine. It needs some fixing though. The vehicle textures looked a lot better after the first mission and I don't know why that is. I did set my PC program and nvidia experience to make automatic adjustments for this game, so one of them could have altered a setting which caused this. It just doesn't bother me enough to spend time on it. The game itself seems fun.
Oh. I also didn't even attempt to run it with V-Sync on. That could be peoples' problem with the framerate(the reported drops to 5fps). I almost never use V-Sync unless it's a 5yr+ old game. It has always caused more problems than it's solved. Tearing doesn't ruin my immersion, bottle-necking does.
EDIT: Those whom have complained about the stiff controls: There's an option that adjusts that. For some reason, controller response is defaulted at 5/10. I would recommend 7 or 8. I find 7 a good normal looking speed. The Mafia games were always more wooden than say, Rockstar games. Don't expect miracles, but it's a definite improvement.
EDIT 2: So I went digging through the files(I don't recommend this because 2K made no attempt at concealing story spoilers within the files and file names) and unfortunately, this is one of the few games where there is no FPS editable setting anywhere. You can, however, edit speed limits, police response, AI aiming, guns, clip size, knock-back distance(that one sounds interesting) and all that fun stuff which I'm not touching until I beat the game. None of the performance related toggles are present within either .ini file.
EDIT 3: I just experienced one of the crashes people have mentioned. It's an odd one. There was no error. The game just shut down as if I closed the application window myself. The plus side is that, so far, the game has been GREAT with auto-saves. There was this and earlier, I shut the game down after wandering around a bit. Both times the game resumed exactly where it left off.
Is it better graphics then console?
Probably not at the moment. My assumption upon launching it was that they made it graphically the same for all consoles, but it still looks low by PS4 standards.
you're right its not something to quit the game over but the way they went around things is actually pretty bad
the day before it releases (the day of release in my country) announce ah yeah you're only getting 30fps bad luck we'll patch it in this weekend

Yea my Mafia 3 ramdomly crashed after one of the cutscenes. And I'm using my gaming laptop.

This new update ruined my game. My game was perfect before this new update and now it runs SUPER slow. The framerate is terrible. I have it on 30 or 60 fps and it dosen't change anything. The graphics look worse even with my display settings on high. I went on the Steam forums and it was working fine for some people but most people had problems with the fps. I have GTX 970M but my nvidia program isn't working and I don't know my GPU. Anyone in here know how to fix this? If not, 2k NEEDS to fix this.
