First Look at Nintendo Switch

Comments

  • Did not expect it to get a port of Skyrim. That new 3D Mario, Mario Kart and Splatoon... WANT!

  • The Switch will have a custom NVIDIA Tegra chip confirmed: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/10/20/nintendo-switch/

Nintendo Switch is powered by the performance of the custom Tegra processor. The high-efficiency scalable processor includes an NVIDIA GPU based on the same architecture as the world’s top-performing GeForce gaming graphics cards.

  • Telltale is actually going to support the system? I hope that doesn't mean releasing an episode of a series and calling it a day. Joking aside I'm excited to see how this turns out!

  • Looks pretty... alright. The games lineup is good so far, the design looks neat, the mobile capabilities are great, the extended third party support is exciting (can't wait to play Dark Souls III on Switch) and overall it seems neat. I have two major issues with it however. One of course is the name, which is incredibly dumb. I'm surprised they changed it from such a neat and mysterious name to something so lame. But more importantly, this looks like it's been in development for a long time. Too long. So long it's suspicious really.

Almost as if the Wii U was actually a field test to see what would work and what wouldn't on the Switch. Which kind of pisses me off because not only was the Wii U completely pointless, but that also means the only reason Breath of the Wild got delayed was because probably they were working on Switch. They probably never even intended it to be on the Wii U and just hyped people up with this hope. It's all very suspicious and shady, especially for Nintendo. I really wouldn't be surprised if Wii U was just the beta version of this and they released an unfinished product. They were clearly putting more time and energy into the 3DS than the Wii U.

  • Looks really good...nice graphics...the portability is insane. As long as the batteries are not designed by Samsung...it could be sweet. Obviously it is not ps4 or xbox1 powerful...but Skyrim s3 looked as good.

Honestly if this fails...then Nintendo would be well served to become a 3rd party publisher. Not like a Mario for Ps4 and Xbox won't sell millions....yeah it would be sad that they would no longer make hardware...but they would be making Scrudge McDuck level cash.

  • I don't know what to think, I'm very confused after watching that trailer.

  • that looks much better than for the wii u, were it seemed like only nintendo themselves released games for it.

  • If it is downward compatible, count me in. Back in the wii days I was super interested in one, but never got it. If it supports the Wii and the Wii U, then I have so many Mario and Zelda games to catch up on. Would be a sweet deal.

  • Not gonna lie, I'm actually really impressed with this. Hope it gets Nintendo back in form again!

Glad to see Platinum Games is still in good terms with Nintendo, I want my Bayonetta 3!

  • It's coming in march? Dang probably won't get it till next Christmas but I want the project Scorpio Xbox more I bet the switch will be a pretty high price because you can play console games anywhere wonder how this will turn out.

  • At least somebody is always willing to pay to make their, which are mostly excellent (except the low budget cash in titles from Activision) even if they bomb interms of sales. Bring on The Wonderful 102 as well. And hey since Square is on board, it might get a port of NieR Automata (considering Nintendo is far more popular in Japan than the MS, and Square hasn't confirmed any games for the Xbox since Type 0 HD) I'd easily double dip on the PS4 and Switch versions. And since Grasshoper is on-board, there's a small chance of No More Heroes 3.

Most publishers and devs jumped off the Wii U boat once it bombed, and it'd be far more profitable to just make games on last gen consoles only, before moving on to the PS4 and XB1.

that looks much better than for the wii u, were it seemed like only nintendo themselves released games for it.

  • That actually looks pretty good.

    Darn it, PS4.... or Switch...?

  • Cool. Really interested in how all this will come together.

Wow that looks really cool! I may actually get this cause you don't need a tv :p

The second they announce a Pokemonm game for this is the second I get it.

  • I'm lost. Is this the new console? If so, that's really underwhelming.

  • Atlus? Enough said, Nintendo take my money! Wait.... wait!? I don't see any company there that is going to be making Steambot Chronicles 2? Blast thee Nintendo!!!

  • Guess so. Ehhh.

  • If Pokemon, Mario and Super Smash Brothers all released on console, I would own them all xD

  • I mean, just look at this:

And it won't be some short and linear Platinum game, it''s still a 25+ hour ARPG like NieR 1.
