  • The core difference seems to be paranoia if he's ok vs aggression if he's burnt, but I can see why people think the two Harveys are a tad similar.

What will happen to Harvey if he didn't get half of his face burned in my playhrough? Will he realy act the same?

  • I KNOW, RIGHT! I was more excited seeing them than Joker, honestly. Please let there be a Scarface in the future...

    Was that weaker and zsasz?

  • Arkham Asylum already seems well populated between Joker, Ventriloquist and Victor Zsasz. Now just give us Harleen Quinzel and Jonathan Crane, Telltale!

  • Have high hopes for this joker. Also great trailer

  • Can anyone get a screen shot of all the villains in the trailer plz?

  • Now THIS is good television! Love this trailer.

  • I loved how cinematic the trailer felt. Definitely can't wait to play Episode 4!

  • Holy shit it's the joker! Honestly I love that, but I wish it had been saved for the episode. That would have been fucking huge

  • Wow now that was unexpected.

From the looks of it joker might becomes bruces new ally :D

  • Temporarily yes, only to escape.

Wow now that was unexpected. From the looks of it joker might becomes bruces new ally

  • It sounds like Bruce will have the option of enlisting Joker to help him escape, but you can be certain that's not going to end well. I'll stick with Arnold Wesker instead. (Especially if the guy can get a Scarface - REACH FOR THE SKY YOOSE WISE GUYS!)

  • Hope Android version not get delay again

  • Still better that Jared Leto ,lol

  • "Fresh take"? It's Joker from "The Killing Joke". Maybe Job was talking about Scarface, who is now "sockface".

  • I doubt arkham would let weaker keep scarface.

I'm really disappointed in Telltale, they just HAD do this didn't they?

Instead of doing something unique, they just go the safe route in introducing a villain that is EXTREMELY OVERUSED in Batman fiction because...?

Story might be fine but I really don't care for this decision. Sure he'll probably have a small role but I'm still underwhelmed that Telltale even introduced him at all in this story.

  • That trailer is so cool. Joker looks reaaaaally creepy. I wonder how they're going to tackle his character in this one.

Btw, did anybody notice Bruce had a widdle bit of stubble? XD

  • "We realize his mental condition is directly tied to a puppet character. In this case, a strong Scarface character.
And here at Arkham Asylum, we quite literally let him get crazier by letting him turn everything he can fist into a character!"

  • Well he'll probably only appear during the asylum portion

  • Oh my god, I completely forgot about Sockface! This was something which happened in the comics during the Knightfall event, where Wesker was one of the escapees of a massive breakdown arranged by Bane to test Bruce and weaken him. Since Wesker couldn't find Scarface during the breakout he felt guilty about 'abandoning his boss' and felt he needed help, so suddenly there was a Sockface persona who was helping him to find Scarface. But then the Sockface persona wanted to be dominant and when Scarface and Wesker were 'reunited', the two personas seemed to be fighting for dominance. So taking Scarface away from Wesker can actually make things worse at times.

I suspect that Scarface will be locked up in Arkham somewhere, but it would be amusing/creepy if you talk to Wesker and you suddenly hear what sounds to be Scarface from inside a locker, not knowing whether it's Wesker somehow throwing his voice or... something weirder. ;)

  • We all know Bruce will get out of arkham asylum in the end.

  • To be fair at least they waited till Episode 4 to utilise him... and he's only going to probably only going to be in the Asylum sections for Episode 4, though I expect dumb ass Bruce will cause him to escape in the process... ;)

  • Who knows, it might be awesome. I do hope that Joker's appearance is more like a set-up for future season and I do find the idea of interacting with the Joker to be cool.

I would really have a problem if it turns out the Joker was behind everything. That, I can't agree with.

  • Agreed, that would be stupid, it's more interesting having Joker in a supporting situation. He's clearly not encountered Batman yet or committed any significant crimes for Bruce to notice him, but I can just imagine him seeing all this chaos created by the Children of Arkham and Harvey and thinking "Now THIS is just perfect! Now what exactly can I do to top it all?! Haahahahah!" It should be inspiring him really, so he can be one of the big villains in a second season.

Joker IS very popular. And it seems like they're only having him around for the Arkham Asylum parts. The main story is too crowded for him to fit, though he might star in a possible second season of Batman.

This idea that seems to be going around that you can never have Joker anywhere ever in Batman anymore is silly. He is a big part of Batman lore.

  • Considering we are all the way up to Episode 4, the use of the phrase "featuring a first appearance by a grinning future adversary...." is really interesting to me.

  • What role do you guys think Zsasz will play.do you think he'll be able to escape with us?

  • Get over it.

I'm really tired of the anti-Joker sentiment that's become so damn popular. If you think Joker's overused, then by your logic, so is Batman.

  • I mean, they could just be referencing the fact that we all know Joker will eventually become a Batman villain.

Or they could be hinting at a second season eventually!

I think Telltale's taken an intriguing reversed approach with Batman and The Joker's first encounter. In most continuities, The Joker has only known the Batman aspect of Bruce's personality, but here, The Joker meets Bruce Wayne before he's even introduced to Batman. It makes you wonder how this will forge their "relationship" in the future.

  • Not necessarily. The title is Batman, not Batman and the Joker. He's the main character. He's the one character who has to be in pretty much all of it and can't be overused unless you think making anything Batman related is overused. It's only literally every other character who could ever be overused.

I'm really tired of the anti-Joker sentiment that's become so damn popular. If you think Joker's overused, then by your logic, so is Batman.

I'm not saying you can never have Joker anywhere, I'm just saying nowadays it feels like whenever Batman writers are struggling with a Batman story they'll just throw Joker in there because hes popular and that'll get people interested not whether the writing is good or not or if the writers want to do something interesting.

By that logic, the main protagonist in any story is overused.

The Joker is an overused character and antagonist nowadays and that's a fact

But Joker obviously isn't the focus of this Batman story. He's probably just appearing for this episode's Asylum sections and there's no indication they're putting him in there because they're struggling on what to do in the story. In the Asylum with Bruce seems like a logical place for him to show up and I wouldn't be surprised if they showed other future villains too while we're in there, just for fun. The direction seems thought out. So why are you getting so salty over it? In this context, it does sound like you're saying the Joker can't appear ever or it's bad writing.
