A villain without motivation or explanation would be kind of a bad villain.
Didn't Joker already explain Vicki's motivations in Ep 4 for why she became evil and resentful? What I meant was, I hope they explain the details you were talking about earlier (like, how she got on Batman's level with tech, fighting skills, etc). Just handwaving it away as "tragedy makes you do powerful things" doesn't feel like a complete explanation in how she reached that level. It's similarly dismissive to Kenny saying "I got lucky. Real lucky" in Season 2 of Walking Dead.
Well they really don't have a choice. If they don't, that's a pretty major SNAFU. A villain without motivation or explanation would be kind of a bad villain.
Somehow Joker breaks that rule.
So this episode should come the 13th because it's on steam although I think telltale said a delay for episode 5 is possible because of Christmas break. Anyways I loved the episode as usual only two cons they coujs have included Viki in the episode and they could have done more with the Joker although I'm sure he will do a lot in the finale.
Well, we've never seen a black batman or black superman, if they want to change things fine, but if the character is known with determined characteristics, changing his/her colors/gender because of "diversity" is obviously going to have a negative impact on how people will react. (Like what happened with the Ghostbusters and Hermione in that play)
How would you have felt if Batman was black? or worse, red head?.
Why they can follow the comics with Bruce Wayne but not with Robin?
I wonder if Robin's gonna appear in the finale or are they saving him for the second season. I can already imagine a horde of outraged whiners who are going to complain about his skin color...
Okay, after watching the Wayne Manor end online, I kind of regret not choosing that one. It's sooooo much cooler than the Penguin fight. Hopefully Episode 5 gets a cool Harvey fight like that one. And I don't care if half his body gets burnt in the end either, because I did my best to keep him alive, and sane, but fate seems to have a different fate for him (though it's too bad the exploding gun is supposed to make the Burnt Harvey's transformation complete [from burnt face to burnt face and body] and just looks incomplete on Normal Harvey's body. Eh, I think either path you choose, there'll be an amazing fight with the other villain that's left, and then a final showdown with "LDArkham Lady" to wrap up and bring the whole story together.

Im sure she will, I still thought her whole 1 min scene was incredibly stupid though and a complete waste of her character.
My best guess on why she comes back is either because she finds out about Bruce's house burning down, Harvey being taken down, or (although there would need to be some sort of stretch, in this case the press is stupid) they publish what Harvey was planning on doing about Bruce Wayne killing himself.
That was one of the problems with the episode, Vicki Vale was not talked about really. She killed her adopted parents because... she wanted the truck? I know shes evil or whatever, but she killed them for a truck. Why? Whats her motive about the Wayne's other than he killed her parents, which then prompts her to kill her adopted parents? I guess this is problems that happen when the new revealed main bad guy doesnt show up or is even heard the whole episode.
Honestly the most interesting thing from the episode was that Joker seems to know about Vicki, that we are Batman, and no one knows where he came from.
They still haven't managed to give us any reason why Vicki Vale is Batman-level capable in martial arts, with access to similar levels of te… morechnology. Unless episode 5 drags on for three hours, I don't think they're going to finish the job.
The writers right now feel a lot like the writer's from Gotham. Good, but fumbling constantly.
A villain without motivation or explanation would be kind of a bad villain.

Despite some misgivings with Episode 4, I do really like the scene with Batman and the Kid. After dealing with such a messy and badmouthing people of Gotham, this scene served to remind Batman and by extension us, why Batman is doing what he is doing. To make sure that no children have to suffer tragedies and even if they do suffer these them, they will always have a protector who will make sure they are safe.
I've been intently pondering my thoughts on episode four ever since I completed it yesterday. I'm still gravely conflicted, and would now considerate it to be alright overall. I'd probably give it a 7/10. My opinion is already more favorable than it was immediately after playing. I still am not the biggest fan of some parts of Harvey's characterization in this episode, and am not a fan of how things ended with him for me, but...eh. A few things left me disappointed, but there also were many positives. I was startled by how abruptly episode four ended, but I'm very excited to see how things turn out in episode five. Stuff's gonna go down.
I doubt they'll bring the Joker back for the finale; seems like they're saving him for a sequel/season 2.
I'd actually be VERY disappointed if Joker appeared in the finale and they're like "BOOM! He did everything" type story like every other Batman game. I think the story is doing fine without Joker (saying this as a massive Joker fan) but great to see have some screen time... notice I say some.
I really hope they don't make Joker overstay his welcome in this season.
To me Vicki, Oz, and Two-Face are the only villains aside from sides like Block Buster and Falcone atleast for this season; hope Telltale keeps it that way.

I think the bigger issue is them changing the skin color and trying to present it as 'new' or 'refreshing' when a lot of the time it comes off as blatant laziness. If you want to make a Female Thor, or a black Robin, fine, but create a new character. Don't just go into Microsoft Paint and change a color, do something original, with some new background.
A black robin wouldn't be so bad here because this has a slight difference in potential (especially when his older, adopted sister is a total psychopath.)
Anyone else missing the good old times fighting the mobs and corrupt mayor? I miss those peaceful times...Now we have to deal with a Two-Faced maniac who is willing to blow a city block to accomplish his goals and an insane cult leader who want to make everyone go mad and start eating each other. : /
Yup, it was still good, but definitely not as good compared to 2 and 3. I said it earlier, I think the main problem was alot of characters just weren't there.

There's actually an awesome alternate reality in DC where Superman is a black man, and President of the United States, as is Wonder Woman (she's called Nubia in that reality I believe).

I think it was made clear that the truck wasn't her only motive. The murder was extremely brutal, if it was only for the truck why go as far as to gouge Mrs. Vale's eyes out?
I mean, apparently it would seem she wants the truck for what I assume the drug. But the Vale's dont seem like they abused her or anything. I really hope it gets explained because as of now, she really had no motive to kill her adopted parents at all.

Kind of like Bloody Mary, eh?
In all seriousness, to me it was implied that they were abusive in some way. Mr. Vale being killed by a belt, a personal vendetta, the fact that the kid said something like "They were nice...most of the time", Mrs. Vale fought back, which I have a hard time she would, seeing as any parent would probably be far too shocked to do so in the manner she did.
The stipend received a lot of attention for something that seems kind of minor, to me it didn't make a lot sense why it did, unless they adopted the children only for it.
And the drug. The drug may have been used on Mrs. Vale by Vicki to reveal something about her past, say the reasons why they adopted her. That might have helped set Vicki into a rage over whatever it was and killed her. Maybe the drug is why she fought back?
So that's what I got in the scene. It took a bit to figure it out why she would do it initially. Victoria Arkham is one screwed up person. It's interesting to think about the parallels behind her and Bruce.

I liked episode 4 a lot actually.
There were bits that were a bit disappointing like
Selena just taking off, hopefully she comes back in episode 5 because her leaving like that is pretty bad writing
Harvey's madness no matter how you play, i know he will always be two face, but for the people that did him no wrong, they should've got something out of that
No Vicki in there because i'd love to kill her, hopefully in episode 5 we have that choice.
But there was a lot of great things that made the episode good
The Joker
Arkham Asylum, the setting was real eerie but greatly done
Batman and Alfred standing together
Taking down Harvey in a final battle
The foster kid hitting the little bat plane was funny
My hype for Ep5 is at flat zero after the terrible Episode 4. I can only hope they will give Selina Kyle's arc a worthy and satisfying endin… moreg. Oh, and I want to know how "personnal" the deal is between Vicki and Bruce.
Still loving my idea of Vicki being related to him in a way.
Bloody Mary still appeared in episode 4, almost as brief as Selina did this episode. Also Mary's motive was still clear. Also for some reason Batman said that first Vicki pinned Mrs Vale down, drugged her, then gouged her eyes out. Im not even sure what the point of drugging her was if she just killed her right after.

Just a quick question for PC/Steam users who were having issues with performance, did the "performance patch" fix anything for you guys, or is it still laggy and really bugged?
Is anyone else going to replay all of the episodes before the finale is released? It'll be nice to go revisit to the Good 'Ole Days. I miss how things used to be, but nothing is forever, and that's the way it's gotta be.
It also would be nice to clear up the confusion that erupted in my game regarding the choice to invite Selina to your mansion or not. I love the girl, but I didn't want her to be there. It also may prove beneficial to have all of the previous episodes more recently burned into my memory.
I'm excited for episode five, but I really don't want it to be over.
HOW IS THERE ONLY ONE EPISODE LEFT OF THIS AMAZING GAME?
If you're gonna go on that replay, try not sleeping with Selina but then asking her to stay at the manor and see if you get that kiss that was in the trailer. I demand to know how it happens, and Im wondering if Telltale pulled a suicide squad and putting something in the trailer that isnt in game!

I really only replay with the same choices, (this thing with Selina registered incorrectly, and it kind of bugs me, despite it being such a small detail) but maybe I could give it a go. If only the rewind option was still here. That would make things alot easier for those who like to explore intricate choice branches.

It has the better sequence, but has a shit cliffhanger in comparison to going to Wayne tech and coming back to see Wayne Manor decimated, nah all you get is "The bat tech is compromised!". "I'll turn it off". Throws BattarangEPISODE 4 - GUARDIAN OF GOTHAM. It really put me in a sour mood. Worse cliffhanger in a Telltale game by far.

Oz over here literally finding Batman's secret computer in Wayne Tower and still cant figure out that Bruce is clearly Batman.

Am the only one that finds joker to be attractive.
I dunno. Maybe better with makeup.
I acutally feel like he looks better without the lipstick.

Well its like, I get it, shes mad because Wayne killed her parents. But in turn she kills her adopted parents over a truck? What?
I felt like the Manor ending was better, theres more drama with Alfred being there, plus bonus choice of what to do with Harvey. Also Bats. WOOOOOOSH.

I loved Episode 4, my favorite from the series so far.
I have a feeling Joker will show up about his "favor" during the last few Minutes of Episode 5.
