Troy Baker: Bruce Wayne

  • How did it feel for Troy to voice a drugged, violently, angry Bruce Wayne for certain scenes in episode 4?

  • What's your favorite choice/line so far, and what is your favorite spin on Telltale's characters opposed to how they are normally portrayed.

  • To Anthony Ingruber: How was it to voice the Joker? Did you feel pressure or did you relish the chance to play the Clown Prince of Crime? :)

To Troy Baker: Were you originally considered to reprise Joker for Episode 4?

To Anthony Ingruber: Can you sing the Looney song from The Killing Joke?

  • Given the amount of notable Batman villains, how did you guys narrow down the list of what baddies to feature in Arkham Asylum?

  • To Anthony Ingruber: Who is your favorite Joker? Hamil, Ledger, Nicholson, or other?

  • I love you guys, you are all so talented!

To both Troy and Anthony: Do you sometimes both impersonate the Joker while talking to each other? Because that would be awesome.

  • Troy Baker: What are some of your favorite Batsuits of any version of Batman?

Anthony Ingruber: Can you recite the famous Joker monologue from the Killing Joke?

  • Henry Gilroy: Having been a writer on Batman: TAS where they did a very effective and extended take on the fall of Harvey Dent into Two-Face, how you feel about the way Telltale has handled things with Harvey and his possible Two-Face personas (not scarred/paranoid or scarred/aggressive), and do you think Harvey's fate is inevitable?

Anthony Ingruber: Have you felt overly intimidated by slipping into the shoes of the numerous people who have played the Joker before, and where would you like your version of the Joker to go from here (if it was up to you)?

  • Wow! Thank you for inviting our questions.

For Mark Droste-- I thought the fight with Penguin was really strong. Can you talk a little about how fight choreography planned out in a game like this?

Anthony Ingruber-- A big theme of this game that was underscored in this episode is that nearly everyone has two faces-- even Gotham itself. Do you think 'John Doe' also fits this theme, or do you think he could be unique in this regard?

  • Thank you so much for allowing us to pitch questions!

Mr. Baker - How does it feel migrating from a more humorous, kid-friendly, take on Batman with the Lego Batman franchise to the more serious and straighter interpretation of the Telltale series, and did that inform your performance in any way?

Mr. Ingruber - How did you come up with your Joker voice (and can you give us a Joker laugh)?

Mr. Gilroy - What's your favorite memory of working on Batman: The Animated Series?

Mr. Droiste - What do you feel was the highlight of episode 4?

  • (This question might straight up be nullified simply because I'm assuming that the episode director also did the voice direction).

    Mark Droste:
A few actors have recently been a staple of Telltale Games, appearing multiple times, usually without any voice modifications.
But for the life of me, I cannot force myself to hear Rhys or Fiona when they talk. I assume a lot of credit goes to the direction.
Is there anything you do to distinguish them from other characters with the same voice?

  • Lesser hardware capabilities and a smaller market.

    That's literally it.

  • Please stay on topic. This thread is not for asking about the whereabouts of when Episode 4 releases on certain platforms.

Because not only is it unproductive, it’s beyond rude.

Listen. You are unhappy with episode 4 issues, among other lingering concerns. I'm sorry it sucks to have to wait for a solution. But can we try - just try - to refrain from unloading our frustration on every Telltale Staff member who shows up? I think it's really cool that TT Staff chose to invite community questions for the next Unmasked, especially when they really don't have to, and frankly, it's ridiculous to see users take advantage of it just to complain about issues they have no direct control over. I mean, really?

TT already has people they pay to handle your grievances, which no doubt they are aware of. They’re called Support. You are best served addressing your issues with them.

Sorry I couldn't leave this alone, but seeing stuff like this makes me really salty.

  • Bravo, dude.
You dished it out, and you dished it out well!

Also, I'm not flaming that guy...
They lit the fire, I'm just here to stoke the flames.

  • To Anthony Ingruber: did you take inspiration from any other version of the Joker when doing the character or did you try to stay as original as possible?

  • Appreciate it, but this was more off my chest than anything. I've flagged the thread so hopefully this whole chain gets deleted.

  • Another question for the whole bunch...
How much input do you guys have over the characters? Is there a list of pre-determined beats that each character's arc has to hit at certain points in the story or do you guys have enough wiggle room to go "This character wouldn't do this or that" ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • For both of them: how much were you into Batman universe before working on that game? Whos is your favorite villain? Is there any other character from Batman universe you'd like to voice?

  • Anthony, you've done a lot of joker impressions on YouTube in the past. How does it feel to go from that to voice acting for the character in a Telltale game?

  • Right, but I highly doubt anyone in that room would have info on when the mobile version will be released; We have the two voice actors (they wouldn't know about the development), the writer for the animated series (who may not have much of a relation to Telltale's series.) and the director of Episode 4 (he would mostly know about the writing and overseeing of the episode's creation, not its release.)
Plus, this is a show made by Telltale showing off their new product. The guests and host have limitations as to what they can say. It's meant to promote their Batman game and they can't have anything hugely negative (like delayed releases for mobile) on the show. From a PR standpoint, Batman needs to look good, and to do that, it needs to have all its features be "true". There won't be much talk on how "my choice didn't matter in this episode, why is that?" When their series are marketed as an interactive game in which you can change the story.
I understand you aren't satisfied with how the release is going, but there are certain times and places for certain things. Your complaint is better left at Telltale's Support center.

  • Since you seem to not even try to understand what people are trying to tell you (that you spamming Telltale employees that have no influence over the release date will accomplish nothing at all), here's a link for you.

  • Troy Baker: You have played many batman characters from the franchise. Batman in this game and in the lego games, Joker in Arkham Origins, Two-Face in the Arkham (Which personally I think your friend Travis handles really well), and two robins in the Arkham games. Which would you consider the best role you have played and why exactly is that your favorite role?

Henry Gilroy: What was it like writing the Batman animated series? What would you say is your favorite episode in the show?

Mark Droste: Episode 4 is considered a turning point in the game, what with all the rapid changes happening the episode (Harvey turning Gotham into a police state, Oswald disabling Bruce Wayne's tech), however I see the episode as a little too fast, because they hadn't really established some of the choices that the player made in the previous episode. What would have made some changes to help make the choices feel more important?

  • Ok buddy, before your comment here disappears, for future reference, there's a reply button for comments. Because it's just difficult to judge who is talking to who when this happens.

  • What a friendly and contributing member you are. btw, there's something called a reply button if you want to curse at someone in particular next time.

Now, in all seriousness, do you really not understand that @mostlypoptarts has no influence and likely no knowledge about the mobile release date? I'm with you on the mobile release situation being very bad, btw. You payed like the rest of us and can expect your product in time. But a Telltale Staff plaque doesn't mean you have knowledge about all the inner workings of the company. As many people have repeatedly told you, you should contact Telltale support about these sort of things. If they can give you any info, then they will. It's in their job description. If they can't currently give you an update, then it is not with malicious intent, but because they really have no info at their disposal.

  • Might as well give this some more attention.

I guess for Troy Baker and Anthony Ingruber, what is your favorite part of recording lines?

  • Anthony Ingruber, everyone is probably familiar of your Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, AND Heath Ledger impressions on YouTube but how did it feel to do your OWN take on the characters voice and to even have been casted as him?
You did a very great job of developing something new with a hint of something familiar, what direction were you trying to take?

  • For Troy Baker: What is it like living up to the grand expectation of voicing Batman and do you feel you have portrayed him well?

  • Troy, although I'm sure you and everyone loved the new addition to the cast - would you have enjoyed doing the voice of Joker once again?
