Site suggestions

Not sure if there has been a thread like this before if there still is an active one this one can be closed but anyways I thought it would be a good idea to make a place where we can give telltale feedback on what they should do for the next site update. I think they should leave a search bar in the forums so if you can't find a specific thread you can search for it. What are your ideas?

There used to be a search function, but it was removed. I don't know if they are updating it or just removing it altogether. In the mean time, you can use Google search; type "site:telltale.com [insert thing you want to search for here]".

  • Besides making it a bit more colorful again, I think having some sort of Profile Badges would be fun. Something like how many likes you've gotten, threads you started, ect.

The staff said back during the July Site Update thread that this "all white" design is not final, and that they eventually want to change some of the design for the Community section. This is kind of a placeholder, more or less.

Seeing as how for both Batman and New Frontier, they made notable revisions to certain parts of the site, I predict that they might make some similar changes of a small/moderate scale for any new game announcements tonight as well. If not, it will most likely come in the months ahead.

Here are some older comments from AquaJew:

The majority of changes that we've made have been back-end; we completely overhauled the way that we create and deliver content. Additionally as most of you have noticed, most of the site got a complete face lift as well. The full visual improvement we want to make to the Community hasn't happened yet, but I assure all of you that it will be soon. And it will not be entirely white. :) The biggest reason for all of this work is to allow us the ability to make consistent improvements throughout all areas of the site; community, company, jobs, game pages, news, PR posts, etc. We needed the ability to iterate and change and add content quickly, which just wasn't possible in the past.

We've been making tiny tweaks to the community over the past few weeks, but more of our efforts have been focused on the rest of the site, and supporting Batman's launch. We're currently in the midst of artistic review of our new community, and have started to stick our toe into the massive development work it'll take. Think of it like a creepy old attic with all sorts of strange noises and bequeathed horrid clothing and probably a Gru or lord knows what else lurking in there. The best way I tend to describe tasks like this, is changing the flavor of a cake once you've baked it.

That being said, we are working on a new community as we speak. Aside from just the basics of a forum in terms of moderation, conversations, threads, etc... we also want to investigate [REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED] because we think that everyone will love it! I'll try to chime in a little more regularly, but as of right now I don't have anything more specific, I'm afraid.

  • They already do show choices you make from playing on Steam; you just have to log onto your Telltale account in game for games that Support that feature.

  • Going back to the old design.

  • The old design was pretty cool but like blind said this all white design is probably just a placeholder.

Going back to the old design.

  • Did you also sign into your account in game?

  • How about a background photo that sort of changes depending on how much you scroll down. Log onto the Community section, at the top it shows a TellTaleTalk background. When you scroll down to Batman, it fades into a Batman background, and so on.

  • I enjoy things that users can do to spice themselves up a bit, like profile badges (like poogers said), being able to change the color your username appears in, and adding backgrounds/pictures to your profile.

  • I have the same problem on PS4, maybe it would work to unlink the Telltale account and then link it again?

  • As a forum noob, anything different would probably blow my mind at this point. But a built-in search feature would be more convenient.

But Internet points should totally be in the upper left corner and phrased as how many people will remember this post. Come on now. ;)

    Yes!!

  • Telltale should simplify the process of customising the avatar by letting people upload pictures from their computer. I would like the option of more personalitisation overall, more like a social media experience. I spend more time on Telltalegames.com than other websites.

  • For now, you can use custom Gravatars by using either Steam or Gravatar. If you link your Steam account in profile settings, you can use your Steam profile picture as your avatar here. If you look for the pixel art in the Avatar menu, that is your Gravatar, which you can change by registering for a Gravatar account with the same email you are using for your Telltale website account.

  • I don't have a Steam account. I'm not sure what that is. I have a PlayStation.

  • How about the dark mode they promised several months ago.

  • When you click "revel discussion" on a post with a spoiler-tag, it should stay reveled in the future.
And it should say what exactly will be spoiled as well.

  • Before this all white design it said what it was going to spoil for example it would say "This post contains spoilers for Batman episode 3" now it just does not say that it just says it contains spoilers.

  • The one thing I want is to see who's online, offline or idle.

    • Going back to the old design
    • Seeing who's online and offline
    • Being able to change your username
    • Not getting notifications when someone else edits a comment

Basically, I want these forums to be like Steam.

  • The ability to login on mobile would be pretty nice.

  • Wat

  • You mean with linear comments instead of nested comments? That is how the forum layout used to be, actually.
