Episode One Broken??

Hi.
I am quite familiar with QTE's and an avid Batman fan and have been really looking forward to this series from Telltale but can not even get past the first five minutes or so of the first episode on the Xbox 360.

When Batman first appears I press A for the grapple gun, B to fire it then press Y to go through the window then Batman stands up looks like he will throw a punch, no QTE button shows, then it just blacks out and starts the episode again, when it restarts the episode the graphics are really messed up as well.

Either I am missing something or the episode is broken? Really hope it is the former as I would rather not ask for my money for the season pass back.

Thanks

  • You play on Last gen consoles. THAT'S the problem. Batman is clearly not optimized for their Old Hardware.

  • Thanks for the reply but I don't think deriding last gen really helps me does it?

A simple answer of what should happen or maybe what I am missing would have been much better.

  • I think at that moment, where it starts new for you, the game should cut to a few hours later in the Wayne Manor, where Bruce has a conversation with Alfred, while he dresses up.

  • What!? Well that's certainly game breaking...
Did you try not pressing the QTE during the window part? That one doesn't matter. I noticed on PS4 sometimes if you press the QTE's WAY to early sometimes the game can't process it and either lags horribly, gets you a death scene (even though you pressed the damn button), or just crashes.
Maybe press the QTEs a bit later... maybe?
Or if the buttons don't show up at all maybe uninstall the game then reinstall (this works sometimes) other than that I have no clue and would advise to go to the support section.

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried your first suggestion and left pressing the A and B buttons for at least two minutes and ignored the Y button, still crashed and looped back to the beginning with the horribly broken graphics ( to be clear, by broken I mean there are parts of the scenes missing, characters in a sea of black or not showing up at all)

As for the second suggestion that was the first thing I tried last night, deleted it and downloaded it again, twice.

This is hardly a system pushing program, at this late in the day of last gen history has always shown that the products released are generally some of the best, the companies have learned all the tricks to squeeze the best out of them, this is not an issue with last gen but nothing more than very, very poor programming on Telltales part, the point proven even more by your statement regards the PS4 which is current gen and a more powerful system, to that end I have already contacted support and am asking for my money back for the season ticket.

  • And it's not optimized for ps4, xbox one as well.
