So is there any reason why we can't arrest...

Ever since we first saw her, I was waiting for the chance to arrest catwoman. Is there any reason why we can't? She's a criminal and she used you. Is the only reason why we can't because she possibly slept with you? I wish there was a choice to arrest her.

  • She saved your life...have some respect.

  • Well prove it, for one. Plus she knows your secret identity and if you screw her over badly enough why wouldn't she tell the world?

  • Word of mouth isn't really enough proof, now is it?

  • When she starts treating me with respect. I'll show her respect. I trusted her and she stole from me. If that's how she "respects" people who trust her, then maybe she should be locked up.

Yeah, Selina knowing our identity kind of makes arresting her a little difficult unless we can trust her not to out us the moment she's in custody (which isn't easy).

I do find it kind of interesting that, by the end of the season, Selina Kyle being Catwoman is still a mystery to everyone but Bruce and the Children of Arkahm (who are all either dead or locked up).

Be interesting to see that explored in a future season and what might happen if the police find out who she is and we have to decide whether to help her or help capture her. Be even more interesting if Two-Face found out.

  • Word of mouth isn't proof of who you are but nothing good comes from putting the idea in people's minds. At best, everyone ignores it and finds the idea ridiculous. But chances are there will be some people, even if just the fringe conspiracy enthusiasts, who will believe it. And they can be a nuisance. And if any villains decide it could be true (Oz literally had so much proof and while he may not have made the connection, if he hears he idea I'm sure it will dawn on even him) Bruce could be in a lot of trouble. They might decide to target his loved ones or just try and take him out just to be safe. People might watch him and people might get proof.

But word of mouth not being enough is true for Selina, too. You can say she's Catwoman. You can say she stole from you and broke into City Hall. But how can you prove it? You took your tech back. Hearsay isn't very persuasive and I'm sure Selina could convincingly play someone who doesn't have any idea about any of this stealing business. Bruce could make a citizen's arrest or Batman could turn her in but you'll just piss her off. There's not enough to make a case here. It would be different if, say, that cop hadn't shot you on the roof of city hall and you had captured her then.

  • Probably because you failed the first time you tried.

  • There is more than enough proof in the batcomputer though, isn't there?

And what makes you think there is no proof that she isn't catwoman? Bruce does know where she lives. Some of her stolen property is at her apartment. And she just left on her motorcycle with no luggage.

  • As Ozwald told you saying and proving are two different things.

  • We saved her two times. We don't owe her jack.

I was kind of expecting a big moment when we would have the choice of having her arrested either by Batman or the GCPD.

I know my Batman won't stand in their way, I'm sure Selina understands the consequences that come with her lifestyle she can't expect Bruce to make an exception for her.

  • She would have sold Bruce out to the police by telling them about his identity. Plus, she saved Bruce's life and gave his thing back without a question.

  • She already moved and won't just leave stolen stuff behind. There could theoretically be proof but we have no reason to suspect any particular proof exists.

  • Well if you finish on a bad note the codex does say Bruce sees Selina as en enemy, so maybe a possible season 2 we can try to arrest her.

  • That's a common thing in the Comics as well - she has to be caught in the act and in the suit. Batman can't just be like, "here she is, found her somewhere." and he won't reveal her identity because that would easily destroy her and make her a big target for the enemies that she's made.

In the comics as well, (as far as I know as of right now) Batman doesn't try to arrest her too much (because he knows she's gonna get away anyways) but he will always attempt to return whatever she stole. Also, she does help him with several of his cases in the comics, so that's enough to keep her on the good side.

  • For the same reason you can say "I'm not Batman" in the first conversation, she just assumes that because of the scratch in your face.

  • If this is the canonical ending to their arc chosen by Telltale, sure.

Lol that's a good point, I told her that a detective is only as good as his evidence finding skills. I asked her about her eye, she admits that she's Catwoman, I told her I was Batman. What's she going to do "Hey officers, that's Batman. I know cause I was fighting him on the roof after I stole priceless jewelry." Lol.

Anyway, I let her go, we saved each other a few times and she hadn't committed any crimes lately anyway. She's knows my secret identity and that is leverage on me. My Batman is fair and is just, yet I don't act like an executioner at all. I mixed business and pleasure and when she admitted her true self to me, we left as strangers.
