Why do I have to replay EVERY chapter if I want to change a choice?

Every time I've gone to restart a chapter, either to fix a choice or just re-experience things before the newest episode, the game just ruins hours of playtime by randomizing my choices?

I just restarted chapter 4 because I wanted to change something before playing episode 5, and IMMEDIATELY I'm met with choices I never made. Turning off the TV for Harv, telling science guy to stay at Wayne Ent. I don't even care what the rest of the intro is going to say "happened last time on Batman" because those fucking choices NEVER HAPPENED.

I know choices hardly ever matter in these games, but this is bringing it to a whole new level. Why the hell do I have to put in 4-6 hours REPLAYING THE ENTIRE GAME just because I want to change my choices from a single episode. It's not like I can go back to episode 3 to save time, because THAT will have choices forcefully made for me. Or should I seriously just quit/restart until I get the choices I actually fucking made.

Jesus christ telltale, fix your god damn game.

Holy fuck, I actually got my choices from Quit/restarting, or at least the 3 that the intro shows you. Who knows what else is all fucked up cause of this garbage.

This is a serious fucking problem Telltale. It shouldn't be a god damn roulette getting my choices in this god damn game because all my choices are saved right there. If this kind of crap appears in Walking Dead 3, I will absolutely not buy it until it's on sale or given away for free as a monthly free game.

And this experience got me thinking...Why the hell does this game have a single save file? All the other ones had at least 3, and if GoT's didn't, I don't remember because I did not like that game at all, and dont care about a season 2 for it.

Edit: Nevermind, I was stupid. I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice Harvey wasn't two-face, and played 20 minutes before finding that out. And now I can't even restart chapter 4 without finishing it, or restarting chapter 3 and starting from there. Why is this situation even possible, Telltale, why?!

The game has four save files.

And yeah, I agree that this bug is a serious problem. Luckily, they've patched it on PC, which hopefully means it's only a matter of time before all versions are patched.

  • I don't know why they removed rewind. I never used it until this game when for fun I pulled a Jerry Springer moment by calling OZ a terrorist at the end of episode 3 and trashed him. I had to replay the episode twice to get my choices that I liked ready for episode 4.

  • The game has four save files.

It does? I play it on a PS4, and I get only one save file. Unless I'm doing something wrong...

  • I play on PS4 as well, and I've got four of them.

I'm not sure what you could be doing wrong, aside from looking for save files in the wrong place.

  • I can see my stupidity in thinking there was only 1 save file after some thought. But I'm not taking 100% of the blame on this.

I only ever looked in the SETTINGS menu to turn on subtitles way back when episode 1 came out, and never had a reason to look there again. Add to that that the game doesn't have a "switch/load save file" option or wording on ANY screen other than in the settings lead me to assume I only ever had the 1 file. If there was ever a pop up that asked me what save file I wanted to use when picking a chapter or restarting one, then that would have been a good design choice, but there isn't.

  • I really hope Telltale didn't remove the real rewind option for TWD as well, though I'm afraid that they did.

Its not a bug. It telsl you that replaying this episode will cause choices made in previous episodes to be lost. This isn't a bug more as a poor design choice.

I don't know why they removed the wheel. It has been in every TT game since Walking Dead, why change it ? Wasn't the last game without the wheel Back to the Future ? This feature wasn't hated by the majority of the fans so why change it ? I never used it that much and yet I didn't mind the wheel at all. I really missed it in this game for some odd reason. Oh yes, the reason being that I was used to it being there for multiple games.
