Should Season 2 Have a Rival Love Interest to Selina?
With Vicki off the table for numerous reasons, there wasn't anyone in Season 1 to counter Selina's own particular situation of sexy but gonna blow you off because reasons thing. So if we do see the lovely Ms Kyle return we're gonna need a proper counterpart for Bruce's affections. My personal choice with a character I think could really work?
Zatanna Zatara.
Now I know people will all be saying 'but she's magic and we've got a realistic world going on here!' or 'why her and not Talia?'. My answer is that Telltale are perfectly able to determine whether this particular version of Zatanna is actually proper magic. She could just be more of a stage magician with some impressive, almost magical skills, whether that involves backward speech or not. What makes her ideal is that she's a childhood friend of Bruce in the comics, and Telltale could perfectly insert her into situations with Oswald, or maybe her father in some shady issues with Thomas, Hill and Falcone. She also could make for an interesting would be partner in the hero business when she learns of Bruce's secrets on her return to Gotham, and since she's more open and heroic and showomanly than Selina, she makes an ideal rival. And it means not needing to fall back on Talia and the League again.
That's my pick anyway. Does anyone else have any ideas, or would you prefer to stick with Bruce and Selina?

Having another romance option could be interesting, after all Bruce Wayne is suppose to be a playboy. It would be interesting if there was some kinda of situation where Selina sees whatever that other character is and whether or not you would turn it down or not.
I would love to be able make selina jealous I really hate that bitch for what she did.
Not that Poison Ivy would be a long term option, but that's one of the reasons why i want Poison Ivy in season 2.
I don't know much about the character you mentioned (clearly sexy though) but I would love a new love interest. Especially since I'm missing out on a Selina romance because I don't want to betray Harvey.
Definitely, I just finished replaying the game on my second save and I think it was only like 8% of players who told Selina she was just a thief. I think maybe more people should have done that, it makes a potential second season more interesting.
Zatanna is a good example but I don't expect that to happen, maybe Talia is a bit too obvious but if they can make it work with her character I think the rivalry between being with her or Selina would be a great addition to the game.
"Hey, Bruce, I met someone in Arkham Asylum. Her name is Zatanna!"
Harvey and Zatanna kiss.
"Hey, uh Harvey. Let's not have a repeat of last time with Zatanna. Care for some polyandry?"
Harvey, Bruce and Zatanna kiss, and Alfred joins in, because why the hell not.
EDIT: I have finally reached 666 comments! Time to leave and never post again. My prophecy...It's fulfilled.
Alfred wraps his eyepatch around all 3 of them as they kiss
Fucking bro code is ruining my life.
I'm happy to be a part of that 8% @VenomHD
If they go somewhere like with Zatanna that could work. Not just the expected option with Talia.
Of course I don't mind them continuing to keep more focus with Selina. I know there was the group that refused to go that route....but I didn't XD. So would be glad to continue to develop that side of things. I'd enjoy seeing if they could continue the pull on having Selina move beyond the thief role she's fit herself into and refuses to see that she can step outside it.
Still, it would make for an interesting shift. And really...why not introduce someone with magical powers? Yes the focus wasn't on that kind of character in the first season, but that could have simply been where the story went. I think they could easily add different kinds of powers and abilities into it.
Check yt channel Winky Dink Media for some options.
My answer is Joker. The way he looked at Bruce in AA...
I think giving Bruce a genuine new love interest, maybe even one completely separated from his life as Batman, would be an interesting direction to take given how they handled Vicki.
It would certainly add an interesting wrinkle to Bruce and Selina's relationship, especially after how things between them were potentially left by the end of season 1, though I imagine there will be plenty of things that will be making their romance difficult in the next season, whether Bruce has a new paramour or not. I also think Bruce and Selina will still be a core relationship going forward with the series.
I love Zatanna, and I enjoy her relationship with Batman, though I think she's too much of a wider-DCU character for Telltale to include, plus people would probably be expecting her to use magic (unless they've only seen her from B: TAS) which would be something very big and drastic to introduce into Telltale's Batman universe. I like the idea though, and maybe it could tie-in to an expanded Telltale DC Universe?
I don't see them touching on Ra's or the League at all for season 2, and Talia is probably too similar to Selina to really contrast with her well.
It might be interesting to see them use Silver St. Cloud. She's another Batman love interest who doesn't get a lot of love in outside media, though she played a prominent role on Gotham. She's a rich socialite like Bruce and in the comics managed to figure out his identity as Batman, which caused a lot of friction in their relationship.
I demand a 666 page fanfic regarding this concept.
I dont care about her much now...
Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy?
Bruce most definitely deserves a great woman for Episode 2. Talia come here please.
Talia Al Ghul would be nice.
If season 2 happens I hope Telltale only sticks with Batman. Maybe its just me, but Batman is the only DC hero, characters, and stories I really enjoy. I feel like Batman being Batman in his own universe without things like Superman and Green Lantern just works better. The only good thing that ever happens when they interact is that Batman shows how much better he is than them.
I wouldn't mind seeing Telltale's take on Andrea Beaumont from Mask of the Phantasm.
Good to know, I guess I was sort of thinking of their relationship in TAS. I obviously continued that relationship in my first save because I thought it might benefit the story but truthfully I think the Dark Knight Rises did it best. Catwoman being a sort of end game relationship for Batman is what I mean by that.
I hadn't thought of that, great call.
The better question is whether Telltale would actually allow a romantic relationship to have consequences - like him actually sticking with the girl.
I approve. I absolutely love Zatanna as she's one of my favorite female character and I wanted to see this character getting a big push. I've also been shipping her with Bruce all this time as they make a good fit, and yes the story of her being a childhood friend of Bruce would definitely work
However, Zatanna fills the magic territory and I know someone will comment on that, but I do have an idea because Sarah1281 did suggest something and I suggest something as well. The Lazarus Pit & the Dionesium. Meaning the League of Shadows & the Court of Owls. Two factions baring similar goals but different methods, except they have one thing in common. They both posses a substance that can repair the body and resurrect a person back from the dead. For the League of Shadows it's the Lazarus Pit, and for the Court of Owls it's the Dionesium (Seen in "Batman: Endgame" were both Batman and Joker were killed but was resurrected later on), which also involves the opportunity to resurrect Vicki Vale as either one of their members. Bruce represents the science field while Zatanna represents the magic field. What could also work is the Wayne's ties to the Court of Owls. We know of Thomas Wayne as a criminal, but what of his family? Are there more secrets to the Wayne family that Bruce doesn't know? Another involving Zatanna as a stage magician would be a thing to stay as the Animated Series version is also a stage magician, but with the involvement of the League of Shadow and their ties to magic would force Zatanna to study more magic that she's not really use to as she discovers a secret involving her father. Namely involving the being known as Trigon. Another could be a war between the "League of Shadows" and the "Court of Owls" in Gotham
Another character that would be optional is Silver St. Cloud. Another childhood friend of Bruce and would serve these two as being close before his parents death. Which later builds a fraction involving her and her family. Which would lead to the birthday party were Bruce meets Zatanna and became friends, which would make Silver St. Cloud jealous. Another would be that Silver St. Cloud would serve as an optional villain for Batman as she'll have ties to the Court of Owls as one of its members and a Talon
So yeah. A magic vs science concept involving two faction at war, with Batman and Zatanna in the middle, but what would be the prize is the source. Which would tie further to the DC lore if Telltale would consider it
So yes please. Batman X Zatanna all the way
You'll be pleased to know OP, that Season 2's LI is going to be Gordon.
They're no longer denying their love. Prepare yourselves. The SS Gruce sets sail!
I'd love to see a reversed gender take on David Cronenberg's "The Fly" with Bruce caring for Pamela as she slowly mutates into a terrifying human/plant hybrid.
Okay but is it too late to vote for Harvey? He's working on recovery and everything! Bruce managed to talk him down from even flipping the coin! Only one who can get through to him! Harvey list it when he thought Bruce betrayed him!
Zatanna is a great idea. I know Talia is just someone Batman will have a son with, but he was with Zatanna if I remember correctly.
Also, it's kind of awkward now since she's younger in YJ and is currently with his son, Richard. lol
I don't think Zatanna would work with the tone of the universe they've created. Ever since Episode 1 I can tell they built a very Nolan inspired universe for their Batman to exist in, aka a very realistic one. Magic would feel rather out of place imo
I think Talia al Ghul could work or maybe Andrea Beaumont from Mask of Phantasm
Yeah, sure? Can’t wait to fuck up another romance right at the very end, too (kidding)
Honestly down for anything as long as Telltale continues the good work in presenting interesting female characters, whether they’re loveable, hateable, romantic interests or not
