A Rant Regarding the Current State of Telltale (ALSO MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ANF AHEAD)

  • Casual reminder she abandoned AJ in a blizzard, surrounded by walkers, and tried emotionally manipulating Clem thru a deranged, instigated fight. So, yea, she never cared for AJ at all, and only likes Clementine as a substitute for her pathetic sister.

Casual reminder that Jane is also well aware that she would become a walker and attack Clem and AJ, which despite her odd feelings on the two of them she knows would be fucked up and her character has been built to know that the decision she made was stupid, but she did it anyway.

Um, because its the apoc and they're surrounded by death constantly and wanted a way to relieve stress for a few minutes?

That does not excuse how stupid it is. No matter what I will never think that is a good decision.

And seriously do you think they'd carry condoms?

You don't need to wear a condom to pull out. Even is Jane was a nymphomaniac I'm pretty sure she'd be smart enough to realize that him blowing his load inside of her is a bad idea.

Although despite that I disagree with your points, I have to thank you for making a counter argument without being a dick about it. It's really nice of you and with the fact that so many people on here who are not agreeing with me are either shitting on me with no argument or using a poorly thought out argument instead of making a productive counter argument like the point of this thread brings, which is discussion, it makes me really happy that you're trying to make an argument and you made a pretty fair one at that, so I thank you for taking the time to respond to one part of my comment with your views on the matter.

  • Yeah, I get your feeling... They fucked up Omid's death, Nick's, and now Kenny/Jane's...

But in all honesty, after playing it, I didn't find S3 to be that bad so far. What pissed me off were the updated graphics that made Kenny look like a 70 year old man, Jane like she got stung by an entire beehive, and those 5 minute segments where we play as Clem. In flashbacks. Ugh.

    For Telltale
They fucked up so bad. I hope they will bring Lilly or Molly back. Maybe I will forgive them.

    P.s. That's for Telltale.

Telltale doesn't listen to it's audience and they pump out what they want. People seem to forget that no one really wanted or asked for GoT, Michonne, Minecraft, or Tales. Yet, only one of those games actually turned out to be a really great game (Tales) and the others were mediocre at best.

They said this was a two part episode when it actually is episode one and episode two. They are only a hour long if you play slow as fuck. At least DONTNOD wouldn't restrict their games willingly like Telltale is doing. Each year the episodes get shorter and shorter.

Should've read between the lines I was hoping it would've been similar to Mass Effect but nope, I think Bioware is the only developer I can trust to make quality adventure games that actually have choices with effects.

  • To be honest, I'm hoping for big Youtubers like Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye, Yogscast Hannah and Cryatoic etc. to continue calling TTG out on their bullshit because I've reached the point where I'm sick of it and I'm no longer going to blindly defend it.

One YT(SuzyLu) I saw play that played over and got the Kenny flashback seemed pretty upset at how he got his end. I saw TheRadBrad is doing one but I'm not sure what he thinks of it. Hell, Brad played some crappy games that he ended up liking so who knows.

Pewds will either like TWD S3 or hate it. Honestly, if he canon went with Kenny then I can see him being really disappointed. Also, I expect Hannah to call TWD out on this.

  • I'm not sure how to feel about season 3 of the walking dead. I liked some things about it but other things kind of rubbed me the wrong way. (some of the character models look weird and the hair on some characters..mainly the beards lol) Maybe it's because they're trying to write more similar to the comics? (I didn't really get that vibe for season 1 and it made it feel original)

As for glitches I've only had Batman crash like 3 times on my ps4 and it killed the vibe of the episode and I haven't even finished episode 5 because it crashed :// and I kind of feel like they need to make longer episodes for more character development. (Maybe I just really like character development now that telltale games aren't doing it for me anymore?) I don't think I want a season 2 of batman and tftbl anymore...

IDK I just needed to rant and I didn't know where to rant lol :s

I'd prefer them, and Christa, to all stay missing if it means that they won't return in Season 3 just to be killed off or worst.

  • You know I had expected something like this could happen after season 2... But I didn't expect it this fast!

  • I agree with everything you said besides the "it was out of character for Jane to kill herself" part. You also talk about "aborting your own child" like if it's easy. Swallowing abortion pills or drinking your unborn child to death is anything BUT easy. Also, how do we know that if it died inside her it wouldn't turn? She probably thought of this too.

Jane said it herself in s2, "I couldn't imagine having a kid in this world." I don't think she could build up the courage to abort the baby and keep living as that is a tremendous amount of guilt. She also can't tell Clem "I'm pregnant and can't live with myself, shoot me that way I won't go after you." So she just killed herself. Didn't want to waste a bullet. Honestly, I hate that she got omided, but it made sense to me.

  • Seriously though. David. David. They brought David backs. A character who's barely had any development and we couldn't give a shit about.

I was hoping so bad that the villain was Nate. They could have had a golden moment here but they ruined it.

I found it to be incredibly sad that she just gave in to despair, but I guess it happens. I don't know why she would let herself turn. They can spare one bullet to make sure she doesn't come back. I did notice that Kenny got a somewhat "heroic" death. In any case, I hope that once people stop being angry, we can move on and start fresh.

After 2 years I was expecting a lot more of s3. I mean, didn't they say that it was to be their biggest season yet?

And I doubt what happened is what even the s2 writers had planned, considering ANF has new writers (have Nick Breckon and Andrew Grant been involved in any TT game post s2 or did they leave like the s1 writers).

I suppose they've just spread themselves far too thin working on multiple games for multiple platfroms that have different APIs and a wide range of specs.

The cancellation of the last gen versions is something I'm unsure of how to feel about. On one hand, they won't spend time releasing versions that look worse than even the Ipad version of their games, together with shit performance and probably even more glitches. On the other hand, weren't the PS3/360 versions announced at E3 and then cancelled a few days before release? That's a kinda scumbag thing to do. But it's not like they are above being scumbags, seeing as they will advertise a early access game as a finished product.

And honestly, I've felt this for a while now already, but I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why older staff staff like Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin left Telltale was to go off and do their own thing. Create new IPs with different gameplay styles or mechanics, which for a creator is better than to keep working with the same IP, with the same tired old formula (imo).

  • Kenny got ''heroic'' and ''great'' endings in S2 if you know what I mean

  • I'd like to use this thread to make my own little "rant".

I play their games for 4 years now and I enjoyed every Single one of them. Hell, i even see Tales from the Borderlands as one of the best games of all times. I mean, every game has it's flaws, sure, but every modern Telltale Game has something on it, that puts it above the rest.

Game of Thrones has this feel of fighting a war like no other Telltale Game.
Minecraft Story Mode has this friendly atmosphere of unity and friendship.
The Wolf Among Us has it's incredible Mystery Story, which unfolds the further you go.
The Walking Dead Season 1 has it's depressing and aggrieving atmosphere.
The Walking Dead Season 2 has you decide between old friends or your own safety.
Tales from the Borderlands has it's whacky world with dozens of crazy characters.

But in ANF, i feel absolutly nothing. It has likable characters, but it's writing is so predictable, that i really dont care about any of them except Clementine and Javier. The way they ended Kenny's and Jane's Storylines makes it even harder to trust these writers. Killing these important characters off in a 3 Minute, poorly written and horribly directed scene is...it really blows my mind, how THAT got greenlit. The cinematogrophy is average most of the time and only the introduction of Javier's family stands out.

These two episodes made me appreciate the show much more, which is crazy, because the show is currently in it's WORST year since Season 2.

  • Well since 2016 was and still is a shitty year, and Mass Effect Andromeda only comes in 2017 I have faith that it won't be a total disappointment and bullshit like ANF.

  • Absolute horrible endings for both characters that probably took about two minutes to think up. Their models looked absolutely stupid and ugly and the deaths didnt match the characters arc at all. The new frontier is not canon to me, thats the only way im coping with this shit release

  • Casual reminder that Jane will try to save Sarah on the observation deck, alone, if Clem chooses to do nothing. Casual reminder that Jane decides to let the family into Howe's in her ending, if Clem doesn't make a choice. Casual reminder that Jane came back to save everyone from the Russians at the beginning of episode 5. Can people just stop with the "Jane's a completely selfish monster" mantra, it's so transparently false.
