Determinant Characters.
So here s the deal which characters do you think telltale s gonna make determinant next? ((We already got Jackass Conrad... which i spared because i have this rule with games made by telltale to always take a character as long as they Can live )) and also what s your favorite character who got the determinant Bullshit treatment? ((Kenny and Jane dont count))

Probably Eleanor or Tripp or some shit, I honestly couldn't give 2 fucks about this season anymore. Idk it kinda seemed like Alvin and Nick got fucked the most. I wasn't really the biggest fan of either of them, but what TT did was not cool. However what they did to Kenny and Jane makes Alvin & Nick's treatment look like paradise.
i feel like Alvin got the best Post Determinant living path. Because i think that besides Carley and Doug the Alvin determinant route is the most believable of the other determinant characters since Alvin did not speak as much as the other characters even before the choice that decided whether he died or not.
The only characters im actually invested into this new season besides Clem Are Tripp and Eleanor because the family has been treated up till now like Feel fuel made by Telltale . Im already guessing from the way the story s going they re probably gonna either: Make David go as far as to try to kill Javier and Gabe will Kill him or Make Gabe die a really stupid death to set David on a redemption arc which is gonna last 1 episode cause Telltale will probably kill him.
Gabe is going to play an important role, so he can't be determinant, it was practically confirmed by Kate that depending on your decisions he will be more like you or he will be like David.
Kate can't die, she is in the goddamn front of the game.
Jesus can't die neither.
I guess Tripp will be determinant. I still think Eleonor is part of the New Frontier.
really why? hasnt eleonor been a resident of Prescott?
i didnt go with her at night because even though we needed to get back to Javi family I felt it wouldnt matter if he ended up dead with the herd and all. Also the chance of a initially likable character like eleonor eating it for making a decision like that.
After two seasons of twd everytime im given a likable character i feel like theyre being set up to be taken out
That would be a pretty dickish moveby telltale.
I feel like Ben gets it better, he finally speaks up his mind to Kenny and if you go only with him to the hospital he saves Lee
I'm 100% sure Tripp is going to die. Maybe on his first "death" we can save him, but he is just that kind of character that doesn't survive long in this kind of media for some reason. You know, the big guy with a big heart.
Favorite character or favorite handling of determinant status?
Favorite handling of determinant status . ((Besides Carley and doug ))
I hope Telltale gets their shit together regarding determinant characters, cuz aside from Yvette in TFTB they haven't handled determinant status well since TWD season 1 (Can't speak for Michonne or TWAU though, haven't played either). In TWD S2 the determinants were all pretty bad, because if you save them they basically just sit in the background waiting for their inevitable death. At least Alvin gets to do something before he dies, but it's still nothing compared to Carley/Doug and Ben.
As for expected determinant characters, I think either Tripp or Eleanor are the best bet, unless they introduce anyone new in EP 3. David might be one too depending on how things play out with him next episode.
I'm not the biggest fan of the flashbacks, but I can't agree with that.
At least Kenny and Jane got a whole scene surrounding them. Nick just suddenly went mute and got axed off-screen. Hell, his voice actor wasn't even credited in Episode 3.
It's not really even too much about how the scenes went down. Hell it warms my heart to hear Kenny so happy again, it's that after all this time, 4 years with him, and boom, car crash, paralyzed! Like how fucking stupid is that! I get that what they did to Nick was one of the shittiest things you could do with a character, but we had known him for what? 5 months? If that. This is a TWD legend that gets shit on like he's nothing. For that, I can't and won't forgive Telltale.
Game of Thrones handled determinants quite well. Only one of them died no matter what. Everyone else lived on, and a few of them played pretty big roles.
My favorite handling of the determinant status would have to be either Ben or Carley/Doug. They were handled perfectly, in my opinion. I'd like to see Telltale go back to that level of quality at some point.
As for who I think will become determinant, Eleanor and Tripp.
Eleanor's probably gonna betray us, and we'll eventually be given the option to kill or spare her.
Not sure how Tripp will determinantly go. He strikes me as the self-sacrificing type of guy, so maybe he'll pull a Kenny. But one we can actually put a stop to.
The death was shitty as hell for Kenny, but at least he went out in a way that was fitting for his personality.
I also kinda liked that he was paralyzed, in that it made me think of how he used to treat Ben, and what ended up happening to him if you saved him back in Crawford. It felt like Karma had finally caught up with him.
Spoiler. Conrad will die and have little to do with things next episode.
He sacrificed himself for Clementine and AJ. That's 100% in-character for him.
I'm pretty sure he just realized he was fucked. The crash paralyzed him from the waist down. And he probably broke/injured some other stuff in the crash, too. The best case scenario, he manages to crawl back to the car safely. But then what? The car was totaled, and he can't even walk anymore. What else could he do? Just crawl for the next 10 miles until they hopefully find another working car?
But now he was physically fucked.
Yeah, one of the few nitpicks I have is that fact that he just sorta lays there getting pecked by walkers as Clementine runs away. At the very least, have him flailing around trying to fight them off as long as he can.
Ben. Kid got more character development, a great amount of interactivity and relevance to the story, and he even helped give another character some much appreciated character development. Poor Sarah and to a lesser extent Nick didn't get that, though Sarah is probably due to a fairly late decision and poor carry over between episodes/writers.
That's what I'm afraid of. It doesn't help that a freezeframe bonus indicates that Clementine may have an important scene regardless of your choice.
Yeah, you're right, kinda forgot about GoT when writing that post. I feel kinda dumb now, lol.
Personally, I don't think Conrad's a jackass.
In typical Walking Dead fashion, everything you touch turns into flames. Fucking over everyone you meet. And Conrad was one of those victims.
I didn't sell out Clementine, but I let Conrad take her.
