what you playing it on steam? because in my experience telltale games are always laggy as hell for me through the steam client i dont know w… morehy it run perfect for me directly through telltale but on steam it hangs alot. every game dating to the first walking dead ran like crap on steam for me.
But the Jane scene actually takes place way before the other flashbacks, look at how young AJ is. It was just a redesign.
Besides, Season 3 only takes place about two years after Season 2, so the flashbacks take place even before that.
I hate to say it, but my friend was right about how S3 would be. This story is about continuation and since all that is gone, I'm pretending that S2 was the final one. I don't like Jane, yet she is a good fighter and should have had an epic final stand against walkers so that Clem could escape. Kenny was more important to me than Clementine and I wanted a final stand with him fighting against walkers to let Clem escape. I mean Jane getting pregnant, really ? Kenny died during a car crash ? These were dumb endings and that's what hurts me. I wanted Kenny to have a good ending if they were to kill him off. You'd think that they would have gotten back to their roots after S2. Michonne showed me that it was possible seeing as it is in my top 5 TT games. In all honesty I wanted Kenny or Jane to be important characters in this season as they were held back constantly in S2. Looks like I'm skipping this season. Kenny loses his family, then Sarita, I wanted him to have a story of picking up the pieces in S3. Or at least mention dialogue of Lee, Sarita, and his family as he is going all Tyrese on walkers before he is finally taken down. That would have been a fitting end to both characters if they were going to kill them. I'm sure that Jane talking about Jamie while she takes a last Stand would have also been good. Two separate stories in the same game ? Yes they could and should have done that. They have the money and resources and know how important these characters are.
Alrighty, so we all need to chill the fuck out for a second. Not the people who have been calm and rational, and haven't resorted to insults… more, you guys are fine. This is a comment addressed to the people throwing huge freakouts and anybody who enters this thread in the future.
This thread was not made to force you into thinking the way I do about things. This thread was not made to say everyone else is wrong and I'm right. This thread was not made to piss anybody off. This thread was made for discussion. I vented my frustrations on Telltale because of my recently growing sour outlook of them, and I wanted to get a discussion going about the situation.
I haven't made an actual thread in 8+ months, so I completely forgot the fucking backlash this forum's members can sometimes output, so needless to say I was not prepared for it. But I want to say I don't want you guys to absolutely agree with me, if you do that's cool, if you don't that's … [view original content]
It seems to me that they were very inspired by "Fear the Walking Dead" in this new season.
I agree they should have left Clem out of it, I … morewould have been happy for the end of S2 to be end of her story arc. However you chose to end it! They really did fuck up with the Kenny/Jane deaths, damn your decisions!
They also moved a little bit robotic to me. Espeially, if you look at the trailer with the spanish speaking people. Low framrates ? The lip sync looked really awful sometimes
Im very angry too, the episodes were short, low on quality, with shitty framerate and everything was dull.
fuck you telltale, wasted my money on the third season and the episodes are shorter than 1 episode of a normal game
There was one point in the game, where the animaton actually froze. 10 seconds or so. It thought I needed to restart my PS4. Then it went to slow motion. 3 seconds freezing and then It came back to normal. The subtitles also got screwed up there
I actually enjoyed the episodes they were freaking awsome but good but what made me really angry and nearly quit playing the game was that i… moret was lagging like hell every few seconds the game would lag and the dialog would not be synchron anymore, even after I changed the grafiks to low ( i have a quiet good computer) the lags would not stop and that made the first episode not very enjoiable. In the second episode it was atleast not that severe anymor but that still angered me very much and that should defenetly not happen anymore after all those games they developed.
That's mostly the reason why I haven't bought it. It's bullshit for them to expect people to pay more for less. I remember just a little while back being excited about there being 2 episodes on day 1. And ddthe truth is that they are technically 1 episode split into 2, because they probably just want to cut corners. Ithink I'll just wait until the season pass is 50%, and if episodes 2-4 turn out better.
Another thing that really pisses me off: I payed 30€ for this game (and other people 25$), and I'm getting four episodes. Don't even try to … moreweasel your way out of that, Telltale. It's obvious that you cut an entire episode in what I can only assume was an attempt to cheapily cut corners. The premiere being too big for one episode is a downright lie. Where are "Realm Of Shadows - Part One" and "Realm of Shadows - Part Two", then? Where are "Zer0 Sum - Part One" and "Zer0 Sum - Part Two"? "Iron From Ice - Part One" and "Iron From Ice - Part Two"? Not to mention that I only payed 20€ back in the day for Season 2, a five episode Season.
And when I bought Game of Thrones on PS4 per episode last year, I payed 5€ per episode, as usual. Somehow you now expect me to pay more for less. Episodes suddenly cost 6,50€, the Season Pass 30€, and in the end I only get four episodes.
I had a glitch like that in the last episode of GoT. When the Whithill soldier brought Gwyn's letter, the game froze for around 10 seconds, to the point I thought it had crashed.
There was one point in the game, where the animaton actually froze. 10 seconds or so. It thought I needed to restart my PS4. Then it went to slow motion. 3 seconds freezing and then It came back to normal. The subtitles also got screwed up there
Jane wouldn't commit suicide. That's not what her character has been made up to be at all,
I knew a few people that went out that way and it was completely out of character, jane always seemed like she was putting on a tough guy act to me anyway.
I actually haven't played this yet, apart from the demo, so I dont even know why im here spoiling it for myself and commenting...
During the scene with the teargas, you can see a walker without an underjaw, while he munches at somebodys belly.
If you decide to tie up Jesus, you can see him a few scenes later as he walks away, untied with the ziptie on only one wrist.
In the scene when Javi takes Kate outta the car, you can see Clem in the background as she looks through the window, even if you shot Conrad causing her to leave the group.
The funny thing is, in Heavy Rain, the choices actually did matter, like whether you did the trials or not, or whether you found enough clues in your investigation. Also, QTE's in Heavy Rain were tense and could actually kill your character if you failed too much, so I don't see what you're getting at with that Heavy Rain statement.
I am curious, what other ways to tackle this problem of different play through??
Now I am not asking this question because I am a fangirl o… morer anything, but just a genuine discussion.
At this point , I have taken the whole quote about "This game is tailored to the decision you choose" as false advertising and started treating it as equivalent to quantic dreams games like heavy rain. It just seems humanly impossible to create different experience of a game, and to an extent what should have been different personality of Clementine based on what ever happend in s2 (someone correct me if that is the case).
The only thing that seems possible to do is to have different endings like the visual novels or quantic dreams. Or semi different experience if you consider the raising people game like Princess Maker and Long live the queen.
Edit : added missing word..Also YouTube needs to implement spoiler system...I got spoiled for first dragon age … [view original content]

I will say it's the least bad out of the David Cage games, and there were multiple times were it was suspenseful to me (namely the apartment fire and the scene where the dad is going through all of the electricity shit). But it's still definitely not as good as so many people make it out to be. It's just another David Cage game. But hey, at least it's not Indigo Prophecy.
honestly other than the story of their games they have really gone downhill in a lot of aspects, lazy way of handling past twd seasons in tnf, getting rid of the rewind feature starting at batman, all the tech issues, cloud saves messing with local saves (i dont know if thats just me or its a problem with others but still) etc

I'm actually surprised by how disliked Kenny's death is.
Yes it was sudden but this is the zombie apocalypse after all and car crashes tend to be a bit out of the blue themselves.
However his thoughts were for Clem and AJ's safety. He knew he was going to die a horrible death but his only concern was for the people he considered family. It was exactly how I think Kenny would have reacted in that situation.
I confess I would have liked something a little more gung ho for his death but what I got...yeah I think it worked.
I am cross posting this from the Shorter Episodes thread. What do you all think of my proposed idea, assuming that Telltale is further pursuing their trajectory of making interactive Netflix shows instead of making more self contained episodes in the vein of Walking Dead Season 1?
I know not everyone will agree with this since they want Telltale to go further in the direction of making games with longer episodes and more interactivity (puzzles, hubs, etc) instead of interactive shows, but since Telltale is instead going in the direction of interactive Netflix, hear me out on this idea:
Original Post:
If Telltale wants to do shorter episodes, I think something better to consider would be releasing a larger amount of episodes that were cheaper, like something closer to a TV Season.
Instead of buying a five or six episode Season with $5 episodes for 90-120 minutes of gameplay on average every month, what if they charged 2 or 3 dollars for 10 to 12 biweekly episodes at around 45-60 minutes?
Games like Season 1 of Walking Dead had more self contained episodes with a collective plot, whereas other games that came after (Wolf, Walking Dead Season 2, everything onward) have treated their episodic formula as five parts of one story (with quicker pacing) instead of five slower paced, self-contained stories with a larger overall narrative threading them together.
With their current direction where they are trying to treat their games as literal interactive shows (to the point of emulating the Netflix menu for Batman, New Frontier, and presumably their new games going onward), I think that the new model I proposed could actually be kinda interesting.
A visual, to simplify my idea:
Old Format
Episode Count: 5-6 Episodes.
Episode Price: $5.
Episode Duration: 90-120 minutes on average.
Episode Delivery: Episode released every 1 to 2 months
Episode Revision: Produce and Revise Episodes live in production
Total gameplay time on average: 5 Episodes * 1 hour 45 minutes = 7.5 hours priced at $25 ($5 per Episode)
My proposed new format:
Episode Count: 10-12 Episodes
Episode Price: $2 or $3 (Maybe even $2.50)
Episode Duration: 30-60 minutes on average
Episode Delivery: Episode released every 2 or 3 weeks
Episode Revision: Produce several of the episodes in advance at once, stick to minor revisions if any at all
Alternate Idea: Make the 5th/6th Episode a "mid Season finale" and take a 1.5 month break to revise the entire second half of the Season to incorporate fan feedback, instead of revising all five/six episodes by hand with feedback from each previous episode.
Total gameplay time on average: 10 Episodes * 45 minutes = 7.5 hours priced at $25 ($2.5 per Episode)
That's an amazing idea. However, it's one that not only Telltale likely won't take but it won't fix their writing issues or their issues about making choices matter. I find it funny how Walking Dead is their biggest series, and yet they don't do amazing shit for it like this episode format and making choices matter. Like, these choices matter less than every other Telltale game.

I think I could get behind a format like that, as long as the episodes are 60 minutes, 30 would be too little. I get a lot more invested and sort of loose my self more in video games compared to movies and TV-shows, so 30 minutes would feel to short for that. And wasn't GOTG rumored to be weekly?

yea same here they caused so much trouble for me they aren't even worth it especially on michonne, i just back all my saves up on a hard drive in case something happens
Yeah, the incentives are going to have to be significant if I'm going to buy any season pass on these things going forward. I feel burned by this one, because I'd already played all the pre-order adds. But at least it's a mitigating factor for people that hadn't, and I ended up playing S2 again while waiting for this, so I did get to upgrade that to PS4. I figure that covers the hidden $5 surcharge, but it'd be a flat ripoff if someone missed the pre-order period.
I ran across some bad symbolism I couldn't recognize before, little things, so that kind of tainted it, unfortunately. I really have no idea who was responsible for that stuff, but whatever. Hopefully whoever it was left the company, but that's kind of off in left field.

I love the mods of this site. They post real stuff and don't act like they are gods as most game mods do. I agree with Blind Sniper completely.
I don't understand why they couldn't have connected the past two seasons better. If this was a huge season like TT promised, they would have made two branching stories that connected the arcs of Kenny or Jane. Two big story decisions, yes, but they do have money and time.
The defenders say "They had other projects" or "Do you expect them to make two games ?" It doesn't matter if they have other projects going, they have a job to do and we pay them, end of story. Yes I wanted Jane and Kenny to each have a story arc to make us feel like our choices do matter.
TT has been rich for awhile. It costed them a lot to license Back to the Future and Jurassic Park and those are ages old TT games. Since then they have become big game developers, do the math. They charge $20 a season and reap tons of money from their business model. If they are going to keep killing everyone off in this series, then what is the point of playing it ?
The most frustrating thing, in my opinion, is that Telltale, from my experience of different fandoms, interacts less with the fans than most other developers.
Instead of coming on the forums to allay concerns and reassure us on things like the dubious 'one episode split into two' discourse and episode length, we get complete radio silence.
And, as one would expect, they continue to make these same mistakes (such as length) as they are not listening to fan feedback, which progressively makes the issue worse and worse.
You see the odd comment from staff but never interact with concerned fans who have spent hard earned money on their product.
I'm finding myself doubting they even read criticism let alone respond to it. They seem to have created something of an echo chamber.

Me too.
Jep i was playing on steam season 1 and 2 i both bought on cd and never had lag problems so that really might be the steam version
I was offended by her redesign. I thought Kennys was bad, but man. Are you telling me telltale someone gets that fucking old in 3 years?
But the Jane scene actually takes place way before the other flashbacks, look at how young AJ is. It was just a redesign.

They still shouldn't look that different. What a shame on both of their great characters.

Nice try. Won't work but you tried.
Agreed I also said that before. Especially with how the included the mexican-spanish culture in this
They also moved a little bit robotic to me. Espeially, if you look at the trailer with the spanish speaking people. Low framrates ? The lip sync looked really awful sometimes
There was one point in the game, where the animaton actually froze. 10 seconds or so. It thought I needed to restart my PS4. Then it went to slow motion. 3 seconds freezing and then It came back to normal. The subtitles also got screwed up there
I am not the biggest fan of Kenny, but I actually feel the same. I feel really really bad for Kenny fans. To kill of such a character. smh
That's okay
When Kenny and Jane fans are all united now but now Kenny and Jane are dead
Telltale would have released it sooner if known
That's mostly the reason why I haven't bought it. It's bullshit for them to expect people to pay more for less. How the turn tables.
I've found some funny goofs in E1-2:
During the scene with the teargas, you can see a walker without an underjaw, while he munches at somebodys belly.
If you decide to tie up Jesus, you can see him a few scenes later as he walks away, untied with the ziptie on only one wrist.

Fuck how Jane looked, did you see Edith? She looked like a hell spawn.
Or the grandma.
No kidding I though the same after seeing all these comments

Just because things matter in Heavy Rain doesn't make it a good game to be fair.
That's your opinion. In my opinion, Heavy Rain got way too much hate, and to this day, is still pretty well done and tense.

The only way to get Kenny and Jane fans to understand each other was to Omid both Kenny and Jane. Oh, what sacrifices were made.
honestly other than the story of their games they have really gone downhill in a lot of aspects, lazy way of handling past twd seasons in tnf, getting rid of the rewind feature starting at batman, all the tech issues, cloud saves messing with local saves (i dont know if thats just me or its a problem with others but still) etc
Cloud saves was a problem for me, I now have them disabled. Having it on Batman made me crash, and using it on Michonne made me lose my saves.
Well, I actually played the game now. I think this game is a godsend compared to season 2.
I'm actually surprised by how disliked Kenny's death is.

Definitely not my cup of tea. I love the 90 minute 5 episode format Telltale uses.
The idea of a ~45 minute episode being the norm horrifies me.
