Fuck 2016
After the loss of Carrie Fisher, I can declare that 2016 is officially the worst year in this century for now. I'm waiting to see if 2017 is worse.

Would you feel better if she died on the 1st of January 2017?
I wouldn't be happy if she died at any time.
If she did die in 2017 then it may be the start of a worse year than 2016.
If the death of a few celebrates makes a year the most awful year ya'll have ever lived then I don't know how ya'll are going to deal with life later on.
It's not just the celebrities.
There's Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton running for President. Either of them would be bad for America.
Then there's fucking Brexit.
And so much more bullshit I can't bother with writing down.
There was the Zika virus in Florida, the numerous amounts of celebrity deaths, Britain leaving the EU, the growing ISIS threat, and Donald Trump being elected president. That is why everyone hates 2016.
School shootings, Mass killings, Riots, Too many innocent people/cops/politicians/fucking kids getting killed for no good reason, Racism, Homophobia, General bigotry, Mountains of shitty media, The rise of social justice warriors, "Meninism", Kim Jong Un being a dick and so much more.
What's wrong with social justice warriors?
2016 dindu nuffin.
Iunno, i feel like 2016 was an okay year. Good things still did happen, even going to an extent showing that memes can save a mans life
Listen, nothing is wrong with being politically correct, but when you're overly politically correct to where everything triggers you, you try to stop people from doing anything remotely offensive to anyone and hinder creativity, you can't take a simple joke and you're overly arrogant, it's preeeetty obnoxious. SJW's at this point are annoying gnats that fly around people. As I said, nothing wrong with being politically correct, but it is very frustrating to be a PC extremist.
2016 was easily the 2nd worst year of my life, so I'm inclined to agree.
Losing a parent, graduating and going into the real world, The 2016 Election for the clusterfuck it was, etc. So, yes...2016 can suck a big one.
For me, it was a garbage year that didn't give me, or seemingly anyone on the internet (lol), a break. But hey, here's to hoping 2017 is better!

This entire year has been awful for humanity (and my faith in humanity).
I'm obviously not overjoyed about a Trump presidency. I wrote a large rant about this but then realized that I will get shit from this forum so I'll just leave it at that.
It's especially sad to see people like Carrie Fisher, George Michael, and Prince pass away because they were SUCH trailblazers who fought hard against stigmas in society. George Michael spent his life fighting against homophobia. Throughout his career, Prince tore down gender norms and gave a big middle finger to gender binaries. And Carrie Fisher was outspoken about her mental illness and about sexism in the film industry. Just wonderful people that paved the way for future generations to become more open-minded.
Really it could be worse.
Found this
Funny
Based on their name, I figured they were legit like protesters or something, but after reading your response I searched the term up and they are actually those annoying butt hurt people who get offended over the smallest thing.
Just because we have comfort doesn't mean this year wasn't shit.
Feminists
Yeah basically.
Not talking about anyone in particular really. I've just seen a lot of people rolling over in agony about how terrible the year has been and how they won't be able to live with themselves after this and it gets old quick. Like if ther life is truly devastating. Guess I'm just bothered by the subject due to that.
To be fair, my year has been horribly devastating. I've lost 3 members of my family and 1 friend, and because of the mainstream events of this year I've been going through horrible depression. A lot of other people have been too, I'm sure people in this thread have been. This year has sucked for quite a few reasons.
Unfortunately none of these occurrences are new. So if these things make people keel over about how the years are absolutely awful then might as well declare all future years mortifying as well. Really the year wasn't that bad. It could have been so much worse.
These statements aren't targeted at you, it's just a general statement. Mostly to the people who are acting like it's the end of the world.
Not really. Feminists come from a good and well meaning place. I think you mean Feminist extremists. Or as they're commonly referred to, Feminazis.
Some of them are pretty new actually, and even the ones that aren't new, they've rarely been as bad as they are this year. But idk, that's just how I see the situation.
See that's a real reason to view the year as shitty. But I know some people who've personally had a sweet ride this past year and are acting like they can't function now since a couple celebrities died. They're just jumping on the bandwagon. That's what I'm mostly bothered by really. Not bothered by you or anyone specific in this thread.
I don't think they're getting worse I think you're just becoming more aware of it. Everything still seems to be under decent control, disaster wise.
This is easily one of the worst years in this century so far. I lost my grandfather and my oldest cat (It died right when TWD Michonne Episode 2 and Minecraft Story Mode Episode 5 were released). Now we lost 2 characters from the main cast of Star Wars being Kenny Baker and Carrie Fisher AKA R2-D2 and Leia Skywalker/Solo. Rogue One is the last time I saw Leia and I was shocked about her death after watching it. I don't even which year is worse. 2014 or 2016? I think 2014 was the worst year for gaming and 2016 is the worst year for celebrities. May the force be with Baker and Fisher. RIP
People die.
I like 2016.
If you were Polish you'd be saying F*** 1939 & 1945
If you were German you'd be saying F*** 1945
If you were French you'd be saying F*** 1940
If you were Japanese you'd be saying F*** dolphins... oh wait.
There are worse things in life than someone passing away.
Same, it was a good year for me...at least compared to fuckin' 2015.
What was so bad about 2015?
2016 sucks donkey ass.
I can't see what's so bad about this year compared to every other year.
Stagnation in my life. I was NEET for part of it, struggling with some substance issues and not dating or anything..
I've had a grandparent and a cat die this year + a soul crushing job and it's still great by comparison. I went back to school, had a political awakening and finally worked up the nerve to get back in the game. I feel like I have purpose again, even if I'm not sure what it is.
Well you know there is a saying "When life gives you lemons, just make yourself some lemonade!" Just a warning in case if it snows a lot before 2017, what ever you do don't eat the yellow snow because that's definitely not a lemonade snow cone!
Besides every year after 50 (The over the hill age) is usually the worst years because everything seems to go down hill after that. Don't get me wrong Baby Boomers, I'm not speaking for everyone over the age of 50, only just the ones who feel the same way I feel. First your hair disappears off your head and grows in places you don't want your hair to grow, then you lose your hearing and get yelled at every time you say the word "WHAT," next you start to forget things that you never thought about before, and finally it's all a matter of time when you start wearing diapers again!
So young people, stand up and be proud that you are still young, because if you don't you are going to be wishing it was 2016 again! : )
I am honestly tired of people whining about how terrible 2016 is.
Me too. Although we're far from equal, this world has been becoming more accepting to, err, "third gender" people. And god no, I am not talking about "demiboy" stuff, I'm actually talking about being intersex. A few years ago, the world was so unaccepting of us intersex people. At least we're somewhat being accepted.
The age gap on this forum is pretty impressive, I'm only 17...barely.
So that makes you barely legal then. OOOOPS don't mind me, I couldn't resist that. I think it's great that when people of all ages get together in a social aspect, there are so many things people can learn from each other. I'm learning another thing in this forum, and that is my eyes are starting to go as well because I find it very hard to type in the text that's in the white box at the bottom of the screen in order to post a comment!
I know what you mean now, apparently it's politically incorrect to call children 'kids' because it means you're calling them goat children apparently... ffs.
I hate rating years.
