Yeah, you're probably right, but this was supposed to be the ending for the Whisperers act, instead it feels like the whole volume was just a set up for the real conflict (with Sherry and her band of dumbasses nonetheless...Yay...). Overall, this "war" was a real disappointment for me.

I've about had it with the comics. I am sick of nothing interesting happening, it just seems like the same boring shit every issue. The Whisperer arc has gone on far too long, and has been the most dull arc in the comic.

For the same reason nobody at the Hilltop saw Beta's men coming despite the flaming arrows, forced and unimaginative plot.

The cover is of The Saviors and obviously Heath. Heath lives in Alexandria but it's probably safe to say Alexandria no longer exists in this issue (weird to say but it'll likely happen). The Hilltop has been burned to the ground. What's the one community left (other than The Sanctuary)? The Kingdom. The Saviors are attacking The Kingdom in issue 165.

I agree with all of your points. It has just been one bad idea after another since Negan's defeat. Magna's group had potential, but they have had so little appearances that I almost forget they are even there. The Rose family was just annoying, and served no purpose whatsoever except to irritate the hell out of readers. I actually don't really mind Carl and Lydia, though I do wish there wouldn't be so much focus on them. Alpha and Beta (and the rest of the Whisperers) are forgettable antagonists. I would rather have the Saviors as antagonists than the Whisperers. And ever since All-Out War, most of the characters are unlikeable, especially Rick.
